Seth was currently in his room looking at a green thumb-sized crystal. The green in the crystal had a strange purple light in the middle.
After his dad had him, the pouch of crystals, Seth took a bath and wore his casual clothes and then sat on his bed while observing the crystals.
There were forty of them that were green but had different colours in the middle.
Thally was trying to put one on her mouth but was frustrated when she saw she couldn't eat it, Seth chuckled at her attempts and took the crystal from her. "Can you try to drain the energy in these like how plants absorb water through their roots than actually trying to eat it?"
Hearing his idea, Thally's eyes lit up, and brown looking tendrils of what seemed to be roots came out from the palm where Seth was holding the crystal and latched themselves on it.
Immediately, Seth began to feel a strange energy entering his body. He couldn't help but close his eyes. The energy was soothing, and it was refreshing. His body felt like it was being cleansed and strengthened each second.
Within ten minutes, Seth was done absorbing the entire crystal into his body, but he felt a strange...hunger in him like he was not full yet, without hesitation, he took another one and began absorbing it, Seth estimated he could absorb these crystals in two hours or so
But after absorbing ten, he felt full and absorbing another might cause him some problems, so he kept the crystals in his drawer.
Reappearing on his shoulder, I Thally let out a satisfied sigh. "That felt nice now. We just have to refine all that energy, which is very easy. Just meditate and envision a flower forming within your mind and heart or a field of flowers. It's easier to refine the energy."
Seth was suspicious, but he closed his eyes and began meditating.
As he closed his eyes, darkness instantly engulfed Seth's consciousness, then a bright light.
When he opened his eyes, he was staring at the bright blue sky devoid of any clouds and only the brightness of the sun shining down on him.
He looked at the ground he was sitting on and saw that there was an endless field of grass all around him.
Absentmindedly, he reached out his hand, and a purple seed appeared in his hand. Without any thought, he planted it in the field, watching them grow for ten minutes.
The seed grew into a purple flower, showing its magnificent yet small visage to the sun.
Seth once again planted another seed beside the flower.
He did this eight more times, and after spending one hour and forty minutes, he opened his eyes, and he was startled by a petal falling from above him.
Seth reached his forehead and touched something. It felt like a small bud connected to a small stem. If anyone saw, they would think he was wearing a hairband. "What's this?."
Seth asked and Thally told him.
'It's a flower, once it blooms you can make poisonous pollen appear around you, it will take some energy but it wouldn't be that much also I think i don't have an appetite for beast Crystal's at the moment, but you can give me a grasshopper.'
"I will, but first let me check the mirror." Seth stood up and went to the bathroom to check on his appearance. Once he was in front of the mirror, he almost cursed but stopped himself from it.
The flower bud did look like a hair band attached to the front of his hair. "When would this thing bloom?"
Thally answered with no thought. "By tomorrow morning since the excess energy would be absorbed by the bud."
"The energy is called Axis energy, both humans and beasts have different uses for it, for example, we humans use Axis energy to control our abilities while beasts absorb it and increase their rank. Humans can also do that to increase their rank, and I should be a Normal Class ability user, but after absorbing Axis energy, I should be considered a Pawn Class ability user, I still have a long way to go to become a Knight Class ability user."
Thally cheered him on despite not understanding what he said. "Don't worry, I know we can do it together."
Seth suspiciously looked at Thally through the mirror. Wasn't she a bit too enthusiastic today...well, to test that, he had to do one thing. Using his finger, he patted Thally's head. "You're cute as always."
He was Thally pouted but did not refute Seth's words. In fact, she seemed to enjoy being praised...what happened to his plant-biting partner?
Sensing his thoughts, Thally rolled her eyes. "Come on, I'm not that violent, I usually bite you because you sometimes act stupid, and it also feels nice to see your pained expression."
And she was back to being Thally he of course ignored her and went back to his bed, he took a container and gave Thally a grasshopper and then he lay on the bed closing his eyes. Thally resituated herself on his chest and ate while kicking her legs.
"Are you going to sleep?" Thally asked.
Seth answered. "No, just a little nap, and I'll be awake.m a while later."
Thally stayed silent and didn't disturb him anymore. Instead, she walked away from him and went to situate herself in her pot, Seth watered it this morning so the soil was a bit damp, making it much more comfortable for her.
Soon, the day passed by quickly, and Seth woke up in the evening feeling energised and refreshed. His little nap was not all that bad. Actually, he felt much more energetic than before
"The flower bloomed earlier than expected." Thally suddenly said from her pot, a hand was placed on her cheek, and her elbow was on the edge of the pot, she was overly satisfied with the early blooming of the flower. "But you need to wait a day for the pollen to begin forming. You still have excess Axis energy in your body, so it should be enough." She added.
Seth nodded and sat up, with his finger and patted Thally. "Thanks for the reminder."
Thally rolled her eyes, but instead of getting angry at Seth like she did earlier when he patted her head and called her cute, she smiled. "No problem, I am your partner after all."
Seth smiled when he heard her words. He got out the bed and stretched a little bit and then went downstairs.
Meanwhile, on a war-torn planet that was invaded by the Star Race, the Avidects were on their last stand, they could not push back the unstoppable firepower of these humanoid lizards.
Naturally, birds should be hunting down lizards but it seems the lizards are the ones hunting, how hilarious.
The Avidect King was in the middle of the battlefield right between the remaining members of his race and the star race. Both his wings were broken and falling apart and he had lost one of his arms.
He had been fighting for two days hoping they would push back these invaders but they were formidable unfortunately but the king was not saddened by this, instead, he was angered and even a bit regretful but this regret was not accepting surrender no, this regret was because there were far fewer of them left to sacrifice themselves for their future.
"Invaders, you may have won but you have also lost. My people, it is time. Let the child be the new pioneer and our god punish these invaders." As the Avidect king said that he laughed and a resounding crack sounded all over the world.
Back at his palace the crystal egg was floating atop a platform that was surrounded by countless circular black objects of various sizes underneath it. The circular objects began spinning the moment the sound rebounded and each spin destroyed the palace, the platform the egg was on began to make a strange sound as it began to point to the sky.
And from all over the planet, colours of all kinds that had the texture of minerals and earth began to flow inside the egg in an uncontrollable degree.
Back at the battlefield the king began to disintegrate turning into brown particles that made a trail towards somewhere and it was not only him but also the members of his race behind him.
The battlefield became silent—not because the fighting had stopped, but because of the dreadful aura rising from the Avidect King and his people as they willingly dissolved into drifting streams of mineral-colored motes. The Star race warriors froze for a brief moment, their instincts screaming danger even before their minds caught up.
A loud sound was heard and when the star race looked up, something small and oval-shaped was launched into the outskirts of space.
But the danger did not dissipate.
The world began to shake and a sound akin to a flying Predatory screeching and making its presence known was suddenly heard.
Something pushed out from the earth.
It was a Talon, it was so large that it bloated out the sky and made the world darken despite the three suns above.
The moment that colossal talon tore itself free from the ground, the very planet groaned in protest. Mountains crumbled as if their foundations had been ripped apart, oceans boiled in violent upheaval, and the three suns dimmed as if eclipsed by the sheer presence of the beast that was forcing itself into reality.
The Star Race soldiers—proud, disciplined warriors who had crushed countless civilisations—stood paralysed. Their horns flickered with fire and light, their tails lashing instinctively, but none of their instincts prepared them for the weight of this.
The talon was covered in layered mineral scales, jagged like mountain ridges. Each claw was longer than the capital cities they had conquered. And it wasn't just one.
Another claw followed. Then another. And another. Until a monstrous hand of stone and metal burst upward, dragging with it an arm plated with ore and crystallised veins glowing faintly with shifting colours.
At that moment the star race had witnessed another one of 'it'.
In the Archives of the star race, there existed a description of beings like this.
Entities with the abilities to create, to mould, to destroy and to dominate. An existence that is worshipped and cannot be defied.
They are deemed Immortal and unstoppable, they have immense powers that can destroy countless worlds and star systems. The true rulers of the universe.
They are called Celestials or Pioneers, beings who create a race from their very essence.
The ground cracked further, as though the planet itself was splitting apart under the weight of what was emerging. A single talon alone was enough to eclipse the sun, but the soldiers of the Star Race quickly realised—it wasn't just a hand tearing free.
It was a god being awakened from its long slumber.
Before the star race could even run, they all turned into stone within the blink of an eye and then the planet tore apart.
In the deep void of space, the sun around the planet flickered until it disappeared and appeared at the very face of the 'planet'.
Colossal wings flapped and the groaning of metal could be heard everywhere the light of the 'suns' touched.
The Pioneer opened up its Talon and saw the statues of the Star race, its three blazing eyes looking at them with anger and tripedation. Without a moment of thought he crushed them into fine dust and flew upwards, disappearing into the endless vacuum of the void.
What was left were broken ships and debris of the planet leaving evidence that something terrifying had happened here with no one having the answer to it.
Seth, unaware of the cataclysm unfolding in distant space, felt the pulse of his own growing power ripple through him as he descended the stairs. The flower bud atop his head had begun to emit a faint glow, the petals trembling as if reacting to the energy he still hadn't fully refined.
