Chapter 13 - cutting off the family Head on a call.

Sumac pursed her lips. "I get hungry sometimes."

Cinabbar chuckled and went to sit near Aspin. "You're right. He does look cute and thinks those flowers are just a part of his ability, so he is incapable of seeing us, but if he were an actual plant, he would be able to."

Sumac sighed and sat near the duo. "Yeah, I don't think anyone human can see us nature spirits, I mean, we three are probably the only ones in existence, even if we didn't exist nature can still function, I don't really know what's the purpose of our existence anymore."

Cinabbar's lips twitched in annoyance. She didn't refute Sumac. They really did feel lonely and slightly depressed despite having each other to keep company. Ever since the world 'woke up' and humanity gained abilities a century ago, they have advanced very quickly and not that many humans are on the planet so they don't really have to keep nature in balance since they're just subnormalities of the world.

They longed for connection. Sometimes, they would wish they were like humans. Cinabbar suddenly thought of an idea. "Why don't we just enter the flowers and observe life through this human's life?"

Aspin and Sumac turned to Cinabbar with shock on their faces. "Is that even possible?"

Cinabbar nodded. "I mean, yeah, it is, but we can't really do anything, plus, this human's abilities might increase, so we won't really be taking a free ride without giving anything in return."

Aspin thought it was a great idea. Sumac was sceptical, but she didn't think it was bad. "Well...that doesn't sound bad, I like the black and yellow flower so I'll enter there."

Aspin made her choice quickly. "I'm entering the purple one. My growth abilities are limited, and I can increase the productivity of the pollen and Cinabbar can enter the pink one. She's good at entering people's heads."

Cinabbar rolled her eyes but didn't refute her words. She was good at messing with the psyche of plants and also occasionally animals and humans if she felt bored...though hypnotising a human is hard, that isn't the only skill she has as she could also predict what would happen in the near future using nature as a conduit, the other two had their special skills too.

Aspin didn't wait for the two and disappeared into the purple flower, Sumac wasn't far behind and disappeared into the black and orange flower.

Cinabbar pouted when she saw both of them leave without giving her a sign. She too disappeared into the pink sunflower.

Their actions were unseen and unknown.

Well, to humans, that is, when the three entered the flower, Thally opened one of her eyes and frowned. She saw those three and even heard their conversations. They didn't trip her root alarms, so it was when they spoke that she noticed their presence.

She was going to act, but when she heard them, she didn't think it was a bad idea to let them take residence in Seth's body, it would actually be benefiting her and Seth whrn they did so she closed her eyes and continued using her roots as an alarm system and also absorb some nutrients from the soil as the sunlight isn't reaching her through the many leaves of this tree.

Thally was not the only person to sense these spirits enter Seth's body.

In the white and black space, three of the chains tied up to the eye turned completely green and dropped onto the floor. They were unmoving for a while before they got up like awakening serpents and sank into the ground like it was made from water and entered Seth's mind.

Seth, who was in his mental world, felt...strange. First, he felt slightly embarrassed as if a girl was staring at his face, and then he felt as if he was embraced by three different girls. After that ended in the middle of the three flowers that were ten each, a sapling appeared, and that wasn't the only change.

He felt something wrap around his neck and arms, the moment he felt that he returned into the physical world as if he was kicked out of his own mind.

He slowly opened his eyes, feeling a mild headache that was continuously drilling into his head. "Ugh, what happened?"

"Nothing." Thally who reappeared on his shoulder said nonchalantly.

Seth felt her answer was too quick, but he trusted Thally wouldn't do anything bad to him, so he just ignored it and stood up. He wasn't in the mood to go jogging. He went back home and called it a day.

At home, Seth was on his bed looking at the last batch of the beast crystals. "In two more weeks, I'll be done with school and go get mentored by dad in Vector—Prime."

To say the least, Seth was excited. Learning about beasts and other boring subjects from his dad was something rare. Getting past that, Seth brought the last set of vast crystals and began absorbing them one by one. Once he was done, he frowned as he did not get a chance to enter his mental world again, so he was worried he hadn't planted a flower.

"I guess I'll just wait till tomorrow." With a sigh, Seth went to do some other things.

The day concluded quickly as it came, and the next day, a water lily appeared on Seth's forehead. It was blue, and it could detach its leaves into water and cause the water to become poisoned...well he didn't really find it to be useful to him at the moment but oh well, he isn't a chooser.

Soon, a few days passed, and an announcement was released to the entire Earth and other factions and planets.

[There Inhabitants of the Milky Way Galaxy, we the human council have come in contact with an alien race from another galaxy and within two days we will initiate a first contact with them and see if they are hostile or are truly willing to make an alliance with us, the thirteen families and the seven top Faction leaders will be present to make sure no problems will occur.]

The announcement was made on all electronic devices at the same time so everybody knew about it and it led to some speculations on the Internet, of course Seth did not care about such speculations but was excited to know what these alien creatures were, but he was not omniscient so he would not know.

He would just try to increase his control and communications over plants and maybe absorb six more plant beast crystals.

Speaking of beast crystals, his mother asked the main family head for some in Boundary—Proxima which is the most plant-populated planet the Chanes family own, and though he was still wary about the family head he was grateful, he even wanted to talk to him but Seth came up with an excuse.

But it seemed today he didn't have such an excuse, now in front of the computer was the image of the family head with his green eyes and two scars under both his eyes, the head of the Chanes family, Nolvas Chanes.

He was smiling at Seth with a stern expression on his face. "So I heard from your mother that you have gained abilities related to plants?"

He would not tell anyone of Thally's existence, so he nodded. "Yeah, but I am not all that proficient in handling it since it has been three weeks since I got them."

Nolvas nodded and spoke. "Well, that is good. You should train much harder if you want a chance in the succession wars."

Seth's lips twitched, but he still smiled. Why does this man even want to talk to him? "Aren't you curious about me not having the abilities of the Chanes?"

Finally, Nolvas raised his brow. "Our Chane family's abilities aren't just controlling chains, you know, we can also suppress so your plant abilities could suppress others, and it isn't unheard of for children to be born with different abilities than their parents so I'm not really bothered but your aunts, uncles and cousins may say otherwise."

Seth grimaced at that. He really didn't want to hear about his relatives' hate, so he changed the question. "Ahem, so family head, can I humbly ask why you wanted to speak to me?"

Nolvas' expression immediately turned serious. "I want you to learn under the Chanes family and not Vector."

Hearing that, Seth's smile became a frown. "Sorry, Mr 'Nolvas' but that is not possible, I really have no attachment to the Chanes family except my mom, and while I am grateful for lending me some beast crystals and do not worry I will pay you back but you shouldn't really confuse my willingness to talk to you as an act of respecting you so please don't try to give my father a reason to start conflict with the Chanes family, goodbye."

Seth did not wait for a reply and immediately turned off the call. He was considered nice, but he really did not like it when someone tried to change his mind on something he had already decided a long time ago.

At that moment. Thally appeared on his shoulder, looking at him strangely. "When did you get brave?"

Seth's lips twitched. "I'm always brave."

"What about you and Jake?" Thally asked curiously about their relationship.

Seth sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose. "Technically, I wasn't really scared of Jake. He just bullies me knowing I have no way to fight back, though he still knows I have no abilities he doesn't bully me anymore ever since I stood up to him so we don't really meet up with each other anymore."

"Hum, Emily must have really cooled him down." Thally said with a pondering look.

Seth stared at her. "Did you just make a joke?"

Thally tilted her head in confusion. What did he mean by joke? She just used an idiom humans always use when one person is angry and the other calms them down. "Is it because Jake can control fire and Emily can control water?"

Seth smiled at her and picked her up from his shoulder, holding her in his palm. "Yeah, though I wouldn't call it a good joke."

Thally sat on his palm and pouted. "I wasn't trying to make a joke Seth, stop teasing me!!"

Seth grinned and used his other hand and pull her cheeks with his finger. "But you're so cute and I can't help but tease you."

Thally was annoyed. The next moment, she opened her mouth and bit onto one of his fingers, Seth's lips twitched. He could feel her sharp teeth actually pierce his skin, and he really did not want to pry her off so as not to get hurt.

Her bites were painful, but Seth had learned to bear them. "You really need to stop biting me."

At his words, she just bit harder.

Sigh, he had to pinch her, didn't he? "Fine, I do deserve that, but aren't you afraid of hurting me, I'll be sad if you me, you know."

Hearing that, Thally hesitated for a moment before letting go of his finger. "Hmph." She turned her head and crossed her arms. Seeing her like this, Seth rolled his eyes and kept her on his shoulder.

Thally is a handful, but at least she is his handful because he doesn't think anyone else could handle her as well as he does. She did say she would have devoured him if his body wasn't weird... which now that he thinks about it is slightly scary, and he should raise Thally's danger level a bit higher, but he mentally couldn't. He didn't think something as cute as her would be dangerous...to him at least.

Back to training for him and also try to train the abilities of his flowers, his father had already brought four of the same ones he absorbed, about four hundred mortal class plant type beasts, 100 crystals from four of the plant type beast crystals he absorbed.
