As Thally was eating on his head, Seth thought back to that tree he envisioned. It gave him the impression of an unkillable and ever living but compared to the flower who turned to a girl and slept on a bed of flowers, the tree felt inferior, wrong even, it was as if the very act of draining nutrients from something that did not give you the permission to drain it was revolting.
He weighed his choices and felt it was better to envision the flower. If he meditated again, it obviously helped him, and the flower was peaceful and calm, so it would be beneficial I'd he could envision himself as that flower and be able to use his abilities in a safer and less destructive way.
At this realization, he decided to test himself and try to replicate how that girl in his meditative state created a bed of flower. He stared down at the grass, looking at a stalk and willing it to transform into a flower, but that would not work, Seth lacks the sufficient knowledge and experience to create a flower, if he was botanist and merged with Thally he would be able to create flowers in an instant.
Despite him not turning the grass into a flower, there was some progress, the stalk of grass gre by a centimetre, and that was enough for seth to declare it as progress.
Thally who was still munching on her insect sensed what Seth did, she momentarily stopped eating and tried helping him. "You made the stalk grow by a centimetre, but you can di better. Why don't you try growing two at once? If you can handle three, it would be better, and you can gradually try to control a stalk of grass each day and increase it until it reaches a hundred, if you're able to do that, I can teach you to manually absorb the sunlight and nutrients, it will be useful to you since if I am suddenly out of commission you can handle yourself."
Seth wondered why Thally was being nice again. He really didn't understand the thoughts of the little parasite, but he still kept her advice and did as he was told. He began targeting other stalks of grass simultaneously, his limit was controlling five stalks of grass at the same time, and he could grow them to about a meter before he felt strain on both his body and mind.
Thally was done eating long ago, and now she was monitoring Seth. She smiled as she saw him influencing the stalks of grass, Emily was looking at him, and the slightly longer stalks of grass. "Wow, that's impressive, so you can control plants, huh?"
Thally corrected her. "No, he can communicate with plants and use his energy to grow or influence them. He can also create them, but it will require a lot of energy from him."
Emily beamed. "That sounds cool, but it seems slow, though."
Thally shrugged with a teasing smile on her face. "Well, that's his fault, his body hasn't gotten used to our bond yet, maybe in a month he will be used to it but that would take long, if he were to practice every day he would get used to it in a week ot two."
Seth sighed and replied. "Yeah, I guess I do have to train everyday, might as well decorate my room with plants. It is rather plain."
Emily put a hand on her mouth and chuckled. "I guess so. It seems you aren't staying for dinner?."
Seth awkwardly scrathed his cheek and averted his eyes away from her. "Well, I don't really want to meet your older sisters and brothers, and your mother is quite fierce too, I am surprised she hasn't gotten news of me arriving he—."
Seth stopped his sentence, and he could see a shadow falling on him. He suddenly got chills. "...she's behind me, isn't she."
Emily's mother raised her eyebrow. She had blonde hair and blue eyes the same as Emily's. She usually had a cold look on her face and was stern to almost everyone. When she saw Seth and Emily, she smiled. "Seth, you finally visited again, I thought you and Emilia fought when you didn't come over for a month."
Thally was gone, so Seth looked up at Emily's mother and scrathed his cheek. "Not really. My parents were out of the city again, so I had to do some chores to keep Dads experiments from getting out of his lab and into unsightly hands, Miss Maize"
Maize nodded her head and turned to Emily. "Are you two training? Are you helping little seth train his physical body?."
Emily's lips twitched. Why did her mother immediately ask her questions the moment she arrived. "No, seth somehow awakened his abilities."
Maize smiled, but internally, she was frowning. She looked at Seth and had a feeling William did something behind Helens back... how did their son suddenly have abilities ever since 'that' incident it was confirmed he had no Axis energy in him to fuel any abilities, and his ability node was also gone.
She said a few words to the kids and went back towards the mansion.
Emily told Seth not to worry about her mom and dad and continued the day by doing some other training exercises besides meditation.
Time quickly passed, and it was already the evening marking Seth's time staying here over. "Today was a nice day. See you in school tomorrow, Emily."
Seth was about to leave, but before he could, two hands grabbed his shoulders from behind, and a chill climbed up his spine. "You know eating dinner alone isn't good for your mental health, why don't you stay for dinner."
Seth was going to turn around but felt the grip on his shoulder tighten, so he began to plead with her. "Emily, it's not OK to forc—."
___10 Minutes later___
On a large dining table, eight people sat happily chatting with one another, well except one person that is, Seth was next to Emily with a blank expression on his face, how did he find himself in this situation?.
Pleading with Emily obviously did not work for him, and now he was here...with her family... and her overprotective older brothers were around, everything is fine... maybe.
He was surrounded by blonde hairs with red and blue eyes and one with purple eyes. He really wondered what the chances were for Emily's dad and mother to meet and had blonde hair, having abilities similar, the other had liquid manipulation and the other could control his blood and that if others. He really wondered what the chances were.
Monti, Emily's first older brother, looked at seth with his purple eyes with impuzzlment. He used to be able to see seths internal organs and the flow of his blood, but...the interior of his body looked...strange. his veins were like a root system of an old tree. His heart was in a peculiar shape, and even his lungs seemed to have small holes looking like a lattice shaped flower.
Was this really seth or a Beast disguised as him, and the strange thing about this was in the middle of his chest right beside his heart was a rose shaped green organ beating like a heart connected to all his veins and organs."
He used his finger to try and touch it using his blood control but was startled by his father before he could.
"Monti, can you stop glaring at poor Seth? He is not going to take away Emilia yet. We have to plan with William first." His father said in a teasing tone directed at both Emily and Seth.
Seth was in a train of thought, so he did not hear, but Emily did, and the metal spoon in her hand was bending as time went by. She glared at her father and said. "Dad. Seths, my best friend, why would I have romantic feelings for him."
Elizabeth or Ellie, Emily's second oldest sister, immediately said. "Ahaa, but that doesn't mean you don't have feelings for him."
Emily pouted with a slight blush on her face. "As friends, yeah. Isn't that right, Seth?."
Seth blinked and turned to Emily. He titled his head in confusion. "Huh, what were you saying?."
Monti's eyes flashed. There is one way to prove if this is the real seth. "Do you love Emilia?."
Seth looked at Monti with a strange expression. He slowly raised his hand and scratched his cheek. "That's a very complicated question, I wouldn't say I love her romantically, but as she is my friend, I would say yes I do."
Emily was having second thoughts about inviting Seth for dinner. Honestly, she should have known this would happen. This isn't the first time she forced him to stay for dinner, and if they didn't have school tomorrow, she would have made him sleep here, but alas, there is school tomorrow.
She looked at seth and sighed. "Monti, why did you ask him such a question."
Before Monti could talk, Emily's second older brother Elliotte spoke up with an annoyed expression. "Can you guys please shut up, I want to eat."
Emily's oldest sister, Elena or Ellen, immediately whipped her haid towards Elliott. "Are you still gloomy because Nia ran away from you again."
Elliott flinched and slowly turned his head towards Ellen. His expression felt as if someone wronged him. "She didn't run... She's just shy."
Ellen scoffed and didn't talk to him anymore. She turned to Seth with a smile. "It's great you love Emilia. She usually doesn't have friends in this city or this planet. Honestly, I wonder why we aren't on another planet."
Emily's dad grinned. "Why should we abandon our own world to go to an unfun place with dangerous creatures, i may love the thrill of battle, but I care about the safety of my family and Plus. Our family is small, and the factions under us prefer staying on earth."
With his words , a whole new conversation began, and Emily's siblings and parents forgot about teasing her, Emily didn't join in on the conversation. Just began eating. She nudged Seth and told him to eat and not mind them.
He nodded, and the two began eating, ignoring the conversation entirely. After they were done, they immediately excused themselves from the table and went outside.
It was currently past the evening, and the moon was shining brightly in the sky.
"See you at school tomorrow, Emily, and thanks for inviting me to dinner, I should repay for that someday." Seth said with a smile on his face.
Emily smiled. "It's fine. You don't need to repay me with anything, I guess we'll see each other in school. Bye."
She waved at him, and he waved back, Seth swiftly left the mansion through the gates and called a taxi back home. When he arrived, he opened the door and locked it, then he went down to his father's lab, and turned on his computer.
At that moment, Thally came out and sat atop his hair. "You and Emily are great friends, huh?"
Seth smiled teasingly and replied to her. "Jealous are you?."
Thally puffed her cheeks and lay on her back. "No, I'm not!!, I'm just curious about human relations."
Seths smile softened, it seems he hadn't asked anything about this little parasite ever since she merged with him. "Well, I think I can trust you more than her now. Huh, what kind of things do you like Thally."
Thally looked up at the lights, staring at it like how a plant wishes it could reach up and touch the sun. "Well, I like flowers, and I also like eating insects, I like you too. Those are the only three things I think I'll ever like."
Seth entered the password of the computer. He didn't reply to Thally on her words for a few minutes. He sighed and then asked. "Well, I like you too, and thanks for appearing in my life too. Maybe if I had powers, I would have never gotten the chance to meet you, but I'm glad I did, and I'm glad I never had powers."
Seth said those words with no thoughts at all, but he doesn't know that his words will have consequences.
In a far desolate plane of endless black and white, a green pupil chained by countless black and white chains began heating up and turning the chains around it green.
But it only turned a small number of them green, and it's rattling stopped. It hissed. The chains were back to being black and white, but a small piece of them had been tainted by green...
