Chapter 215 - 215 - {Nova Lotus}

*

First off, she couldn't let them both attack her at once. It was going to be near impossible to split them up, they understood her intentions. She was practically prey being stared down by two predators, with little chance of escape or reversal.

She side steps to the right, her foot landing firmly over the streets. One of the vampires went past her position, his left arm outstretched. An ultra thin cut forms on her waist, with blood rapidly dripping out. With {Incongruity}, the vampire's knife hand could match the sharpness of a large sword, cleaving through a magical girl's flesh with ease.

Blooming, a pinkish crimson lotus bears its bud. Similar in tone to her blood, its petals looked as if they unfolded out of her wound. Thorny vines stretch out from beneath the petals before the entire lotus structure exploded with a burst of heat and explosive magical energy. The second vampire was barely repelled by the explosion, taking a step back in caution. Magical girls always have elegant weapons, what was hers? Did it come from the soul? Was it forged by emotions? There were so many tropes she could think of, but it would be disastrous to experiment in front of these two.

"{Nova Lotus}." (Faramicia)

Her words slow to a drawl. Perhaps in this world, it all lay in the black box we all call a skill. Sure enough, a staff of complete crimson materialises in her palm. Crimson is her colour, it's no exaggeration to say she simply molded her magic into the shape of a fantasy staff. However first impressions were the most important, it wouldn't be right to say her heart magically held some ancient staff or that some predestined legendary weapon was birthed here. She held the staff in her heart as a matter of course, due to all her years of admiring it. Magic didn't decide what her weapon should be, in the end it was her heart that did.

Sure enough, the magic in the atmosphere felt heavy, and she caused it to erupt with her staff. She felt like whatever she wished for would happen with this staff, though this was clearly not the case. The staff can cause magic to erupt, can shoot spheres of violent attack magic, etc. It's all the same mechanism shaped or sized differently. The streets burst into flames, but it did little to deter the two vampires. With a wave, the second vampire shot out a vicious wind that cleansed the street of heat. Enchanted wind, {Incongruity} might be even more absurd than {Nova Lotus} was.

After that heat wave erupting near her, she understood slightly more. {Nova Lotus} made things 'potent', or intensified. As long as it chose a target such as heat or magic, she can make it intensify into higher values, it could be described as 'ignition' or 'combustion'. It also increased the values of her own stats, though that was going to run out soon. Then it stands that since it's impossible to run or to get these two enemies any closer, she needs to set the target of the skill to be herself.

The enemies watch her carefully and maintain a distance between each other, however they also maintain proximity to their prey. Causing the area around her to explode, was the best option. A thundering crackle echoed over her, the air ignites. She uses up her remaining magic to set everything ablaze. She was the object that was closest to these 2 opponents, setting herself as the target was the best way to engulf both enemies with the same attack. Shining ruby red sparkles lit up the air as air pressure and debris consumed the vicinity in the shape of petals.

It looked like a molten hot red lotus with mud brown petals, whirling around the air with the most ferocity her magic could muster. If her magic couldn't take them out, this was it. Reality was not so kind. When the lotus faded, they only seemed slightly charred. The heat seeped through the cracks in their shields and roasted them alive. It was hard to regenerate against fire for any immortal being, but being killed? Their regeneration still outpaced the magic cooking them alive.

She stepped back, one foot back was one foot closer to the other vampire. There was no escaping, especially not when her vision began to darken. Her limbs were weak, having a large quantity of magic expended away comes with immense fatigue and vulnerability. Her body couldn't adjust to the change and her nerves were faintly less sensitive. Her skin grew slightly numb and her legs barely support her own weight. She still has enough magic to keep up the transformation, but not enough for any meaningful attack.

At least she succeeded. She drew away and slew most of the vampires in the area, she saved her friends. She lightened the burden on the other magical girls in this world, taking out as many enemies as she could before she simply fell against superior enemies. She would like to mount one last ditch effort, but she didn't even have the energy to run. She'd no doubt slip with a sudden movement, her balance was as unstable as a drunks.

The vampire behind snatches her up by the neck, a crushing pressure squeezes over her skin. She couldn't lift her arms up to reach her neck, much less pry herself out of this constrictinf death sentence. She grits her teeth involuntarily, aching from the gradual crushing pressure rupturing her blood vessels. One snap and she would be dead.

Then she was suddenly dropped with a thud. Squelching noises reverberate, the violent sound of flesh torn asunder whispers into her ear drums. Was it an even fiercer monster? She was afraid, but if it meant helping other magical girls, she'd try to defeat it. She turned around and merely sees a girl.

"You should have cried for help. I'd have reached you no matter where you were. After all, I'm a magical girl." (Sariel)

She felt like cold water had washed over her heart. Before she noticed, her shoulders had been trembling and her breathe was caught in her throat. She unconsciously grasps around her neck, caressing it to see if it hurt.

" I... I'm alive. " (Faramicia)

"You well and truly are. What brings a promising magical girl like you to our zone?" (Sariel)

She bents down a little to extend Faramicia her a palm.

"Our zone?" (Faramicia)
