Chapter 26 - [A nightmare]

That night Mehatto couldn't stop dreaming about the mysterious man. He swooped down and took a handful of his students. He was dangerous. Far more dangerous than the gang members. He needed to find a way to get those students back; he had failed his duty as a master class shinobi. If that were to happen, he would demote him back to a shinobi, and his Cyrus would start making fun of him, and calling him a shin noob. He couldn't let that happen to him. He shifted on his bed, unable to fall asleep.

Finally, he had had enough. He got up and grabbed himself a cup of tea. He looked toward the window and saw a mysterious figure. He ran forward, and when he got closer, he realized it was just his mind playing tricks on him. Was it really, though?

Behind him, a figure appeared. When Mehatto turned to face it, he saw that it was his father. But something was off about him. He couldn't tell what it was. His father held a sword, and it was clear that he was going to fight at any second.

Following what he had learned, Mehatto drew his own sword. They ended up clashing. Whenever his father attacked, Mehatto would try to counter. But something wasn't right. Everything that he was taught wasn't working. Was it because this was some sort of dream, and that meant whatever he did wasn't going to work how it should? He tried to wake up by closing his eyes, but his

father swung his sword, and Mehatto barely managed to dodge the attack. After some time. his

father finally spoke.

"I gave you a simple task, did I not? How could you let your students fall? I should disown

you for that." his father said.

"I didn't mean it. I really didn't. If you give me another chance, I'll save them, I promise."

"Tell me who was responsible, and I might spare you." his father replied.

"It was a mysterious figure wearing a black hood." Mehatto said.

"That doesn't tell me anything!" his father shouted.

His father jumped forward and spun his sword, Mehatto blocked the attack, but then got struck

by a kick. Mehatto fell back losing his balance, and then he turned around before he saw where was, but it was already too late as he began falling down the pit.

He screamed. When he opened his eyes, he was completely surrouned by smoke. What

is going on now? He thought.

He saw a student on the floor. Mehatto smiled and rushed down the road to see who it was. His

smile faded when it was someone he didn't recognize. He wore a school uniform also, but it

wasn't one that he recognized. The student looked up and asked if he knew where they were, but

Mehatto did not, so all he did was shake his head. The student then got up, and started

walking, and when he turned back, Mehatto knew that was a sign to follow him.

"So, who are you? I mean what is your name?" Mehatto asked.

"Ikke. I got lost, and I ended up here all of a sudden." he replied.

"Any clue as to how to get out of this place?" Mehatto continued asking.

"No. But if we keep walking, we might find the exit." Ikke responded.

Suddenly they came to a halt.

"It could get dangerous the farther we go by the way." Ikke stated.

"I learned that." Mehatto said.

They continued to walk, and that's when the smoke started to clear. Ahead of them, they saw a

few more students on their knees.

What were they praying for? Mehatto kept thinking as they

got to the front. Ikke introduced Mehatto to the other three. Apparently, they were previously from

the academy that was shut down due to rumors of demons existing. Mehatto had heard this news spread from news articles and online. He talked to his father about it recently. Their conversation became serious. If the mysterious man that took the children was a demon, that meant the children that were under his control were bound to be threatened. The students of that academy were later sent some place far away. Mehatto was unsure what that far away meant, but he was sure they were seen as dangerous beings and because they were seen as dangerous being, their school was temporarily shut down. After the school was shut down, Cyrus was one of the first to explore. What he found to this day is still a mystery. He keeps saying it was something supernatural and to leave it to the DEATHKNIGHTS, but that only makes him more suspicious. When Mehatto looks back to the demons, he noticed that they were still praying. Why were they were here, and what were they praying for?

Ikke then asked Mehatto to walk to the front of the ritual.

"Alright buddy. not so fast. You expect me to believe I'll return home by walking up to a

random ritual. Unless you tell me what you're up to, I'm not doing anything."

"We seriously want to bring you home though, unless you want to be trapped here forever." Ikke

asked.

Mehatto thinks for a second, and after much thought, he agreed to the biggest mistake of his

life, because before he could even walk forward, the Ikke pushed him to the center of a seal

trapping him there. The demons laughed. At last, they were getting closer to their goal, them

retribution. Mehatto could only watch in horror now that he was trapped.
