Chapter 4 - The Finger 2/2

**Sigh**

Rumi sighed as she walked through the bustling streets of Musutafu, her face twisted in a deep frown. She glanced back at her phone, reviewing the messages she had exchanged with Ichiji.

---

**Ichiji**

- Hey Rumi, I need you for a mission.

- What's it now? You made me miss my date.

- Sorry, but there's been a reported sighting of a semi-grade 3 spirit in your area, and you're the only one available.

- You interrupted me on my date for a semi-grade 3 spirit!?

- Yeah, sorry, but you're the only sorcerer within a 6-mile radius.

- I want extra for this.

- Understood. Here's the location.

---

Rumi clicked her tongue in annoyance as she arrived at the park where the cursed spirit was reported. As she walked, she lifted her hands to her head and swept them back (like a certain king of curses), revealing two bunny ears—her cursed technique.

**Cursed Bunny**

Her technique allowed for light probability manipulation, symbolized by the bunny, and enhanced her physical abilities, particularly her agility and leg strength.

"Emerge darker than darkness; purify that which is impure."

A veil concealed the supernatural from non-sorcerers. Rumi stared at the spirit, which seemed like a generic monster from a low-budget film. Boredom etched across her face, she decided to end it quickly.

Rumi leaped approximately 25 feet (about 7.6 meters) and prepared an ax kick. The spirit barely registered her presence before she descended and kicked its head into the concrete, exorcizing it with a single strike.

She sighed with frustration, dismissed her technique and the veil, and started to walk away.

*Plop*

"Huh?"

Rumi looked down at an object that had fallen from her back pocket. Wrapped in talismans, it was about 3.3 inches long and oddly familiar.

"Finger, finger, finger... why does that sound familiar? HOLY SHIT, THAT'S ONE OF SUKUNA'S FINGERS! HOW DID IT END UP HERE?!"

Panicking, Rumi paced back and forth, biting her nails as she stared at the finger.

*What should I do? I can't keep this with me—it could endanger my family. And I can't leave it here for some random curse to find. I need to call Ichiji.*

She quickly took out her phone and dialed Ichiji.

"Hello, Ms. Usagiyama. What's the matter?"

"Yo Ichiji, I found one of Sukuna's fingers."

"WHAT!?"

Rumi pulled the phone away from her ear, wincing at the volume. "Jeez, don't yell so loud. Just tell me what to do with it."

"Okay, just…damn. Where did you find it?"

"The same place you sent me to deal with the spirit!"

"Alright, leave it there. I'll call Naoya to pick it up. Stay put until he arrives."

*That sexist piece of shit.*

Rumi thought bitterly. "Fine, but don't make me wait too long."

She hung up, tapping her foot anxiously while holding the finger. After about ten minutes, a strong breeze swept past her, and an arm wrapped around her neck.

"Usagiyama, where's the finger?"

Naoya's voice was serious, his hand extended expectantly.

"R-right here," Rumi stuttered, unaccustomed to Naoya's serious demeanor rather than his usual flirtatious or demeaning attitude.

Naoya took the finger and quickly departed, leaving Rumi alone. She finally headed home, unaware that a tall man with green hair and stitches on his forehead, clad in a kimono, observed her with a slight frown.
