Sheila looked at the man that appeared out of nowhere, rage clearly burning in her eyes, she wanted to attack but she wasn't stupid, she knew that if he was able to appear in front of her without raising any alarm he was surely skilled.
It was clear that this man was out of her league it didn't matter to her though. If he was the one who killed her son then she would who go to any length to kill him even if she had to die in the process.
The mysterious figure stared at her, in silence, waiting for his questions to be answered.
"Don't make me repeat myself ", the strange man said.
His bright red eyes seemed to ignore her body. Under his watchful gaze Sheila felt as if all her secrets laid bare and exposed for all to see.
His red eyes immediately gave away his identity as a vampire.
There was a chance that this could go horribly wrong, ignoring the sense of danger, Sheila was a bit entranced by his beautiful appearance.
His long silky white hair that seemed to flow like a waterfall down his back, his thin light pink lips and sharp jawline contrasted each other with his pale white skin and slightly muscular frame which further enhanced his androgenous beauty.
His handsomeness left her speechless. Literally.
The longer she looked at him the less angry she felt. Sheila immediately shut her eyes, she knew something was wrong. Being a succubus, she intuitively knew when someone was trying to charm her.
Because she was a succubus she was naturally resistant to being charmed but she wasn't immune, due to her being a halfling her succubus bloodline was a bit diluted which prevented her from fully manifesting some of the powers possessed to her race.
"my bad, I forget I do that sometimes," the mysterious figure said "Answer my question correctly and you might just leave here with you life" his voice was starting to sound more melodic and seductive, masking the threat within his words.
He was trying to compel her.
Fear griped Sheila's heart as she came to a sudden realization about the true identity of the man standing in her presence.
He was a true vampire, a threat far beyond her level in her current state.
Vampires had their own ranking system among themselves, Sheila was only aware of three different types of vampires;
Blood thralls
Most of the city guards were around this level, they possessed only basics powers such as superhuman strength which granted them 5 times the strength of a regular human, and enhanced perception. they were once loyal human servants to the vampires who had been turned, their powers were basically stunted with almost no way to grow stronger. they had no hope of being able to procreate, even with other vampires.
Night crawlers or natural born vampires
these were vampires born with low bloodline purity. even with their impure bloodline they were still worlds apart from blood thralls, a single natural born vampire could singlehandedly beat 10 blood thralls halfway to death with their bare hands. Sheila could confidently handle a natural born vampire with ease.
True vampires
Sheila knew almost nothing about true vampires apart from the fact that their bloodline was a lot purer than the night crawlers they possess inherent magical abilities such as the ability to move without making any sound at all, and a few abilities that they shared with succubi such as charm and compelling their victims they were incredibly fast and very dangerous, a true vampire could create as many blood thralls as they wanted. To a true vampire killing a blood thrall was as easy as crushing a bug.
"D-d-did you do this?" Sheila said to the strange man hinting at the condition jake was in.
Her voice was shaking slightly due to fear.
Ever single bone in her body was screaming at her to run away but she stood her ground.
"Quite impressive" the man said, "but you aren't exactly human, are you?" his tone was full of curiosity as he spoke.
The man blood red eyes suddenly sharped as her stared in her direction, he wasn't looking at her, his gaze went a bit downwards to Jake who was in her arms. "Where did you find that child", the man said his voice devoid of any emotion.
It was clear from his tone that he wasn't joking around anymore.
Sheila blinked and the man was immediately in her personal space, he was so close that she could smell the scent of blood that mas emanating from his black cloak.
So fast!, Sheila's eyes widened in shock at his speed.
His hand immediately coiled around her neck, he lifted her into the air with one hand while choking her.
Before she knew it she was already in the air, she grabbed his arm with both hand, she struggled desperately to get his hand of her neck to no avail, his iron-like grip continued to choke her.
Sheila's world was once again in motion, it seemed as if her action of grabbing his hand had spited him because he immediately slammed her into the ground like a ragdoll!
BOOM!
Sheila's body impacted the ground with so much force that it left cracks on its surface.
"My patience is wearing thin," the man said his voice was oozing with killing intent, "so I suggest you start providing answers to my questions".
