Chapter 22 - Chapter 3: Verse VI

VERSE VI

Was she dead now?. Its now surprisingly calm and peaceful.

But if she was dead, her soul should still in the nether and suffer for her act of blasphemy.

Where is she?.

She could not see nor talk, nor smell. Her senses, all her senses were taken away from her.

Was she floating?. What's wrong?.

She regained her sense to feel.

A sharp rear pain shook her spine. She felt her bones poking out her back.

She gnashed he teeth to endure it.

She is Yuki, and she blasphemed to protect her brother.

She has to pay for her transgressions, and endure while at it.

She possessed mixed thoughts, as she still love her brother so.

She could not bring herself to entirely rid herself of him.

So she knew he was still attached to him, and maybe he was to her.

Or not.

She had died. She could feel the heat no longer.

Her body — light, confirming her conclusions about her soul floating.

Yet, she could feel her bones.

How?

Souls, aren't soul matterless, as weightless and thin as the beam of light itself?

Well, she does not trust the scriptures anymore but she had relied on this descriptions for souls.

She even learnt it from Uncle Li,whether a doppleganger or not.

Yet she could feel her bones tearing through her skin, and growing past it, at her back.

Her second pair of arms still exists, then where was she?.

At once, all her sense except speech was restored.

Her eyes jingled to life by low mumblings. Voices seeming indifferent with various laughter and chatter.

What was happening?. Chattering all of a sudden?.

Is she back in the mortal realm?. No?.

Her eyes ached her, as she opened them.

Golden beams graced her eyes, almost blinding her instantly.

She shielded her eyes with her hands. Her second pair of arms felt her back and head.

She caressed her back, and the other hand did so to her hair.

Scars were evident upon her back, but she was clothed already in a long gown, whilst she wore seemingly long shorts.

Clothes?. It real ly was the mortal realm. For sure .

She raced her hands throughout her back, reaching her upper back.

She felt bones, arched out of it. It was stubbed, yet it had broken through her skin.

She could tell how stubbed it was, about 3-7 cm long.

Her only conclusion to this, were wings. She was growing wings.

Profoundly disturbing yet she was overjoyed.

She had never grown wings before, nor even thought about growing wings.

How was it happening now?.

She removed not her hands, as she feared she might go blind.

Her hair had returned. What happened?. Was she given an elixir by the humans below her?.

Wait! The humans below her, they had seen her like this. Do they wish to kill her?

She is dehumanized, and her skin colour would be an evidence to he damned state.

But, they would not clothe whom they wish to kill.

She opened her eyes, scanning the terrace and the environment.

Her expectations shattered, broke and squeezed into disappointment and sudden fear.

She was not in the mortal realm, but still in the Nether.

She was encaged in a golden ball which followed the beings below.

Fear and despair washed over her. She peered below, the creatures were definitely demons.

The sentient devils and seemingly much powerful too.

No horns above their head, they possessed none or they had cloaked it.

The malevolence they exhumed made her stomach rumble.

Was it because they defied the Divine?.

Her brother had always told her about the consequences of defying the Divine. Saying it leads to absence of everything and anything good, as divinity spring forth goodwill.

Infact, she found solace in her younger brother's words. She believed it so, and this was quite trifling for her.

It seemed, it was the only guide for her during her fall.

Like he had seen these, all these misgivings happening and prepared for it.

Her heart ached her so, and she knew not why.

" She's awake, Commander." A tense yet firm voice pierced her ears.

And she canceled her thoughts immediately, he heart throbbed against her chest, racing hard.

Sweat formed bead rolls upon her forehead, her scalp wet with her sweat yet she remains afloat, in the golden ball.

" Oh!." The group beneath her stopped. She closed her eyes.

" Our newborn damsel." This voice was much more charming, with a hint of sarcasm yet the tone thin and light.

A lady.... a lady demon, was it demoness?.

" Why are your thoughts scrambled, darling?." This time, the voice was a bit stern yet it still possessed the tone of a female.

And she felt the golden ball hover forwards, in the direction of the voice she heard.

She could not help but shiver.

" Raise your head, darling.". Her tone commanded.

In obedience and fear, Yuki did so.

" Open your eyes." The commandment was given again, Yuki followed suite.

Her horror intensified exponentially, and she was thrown into a fit.

The demoness was faceless yet could speak.

How she spoke, Yuki knew not.

Her body seized as she was in her fit. Yuki felt her mouth foaming once more.

" Are you really that frightened?." She heard the snap of a finger.

And Yuki's fit ceased.

She heard footsteps starting once more, as she tried to open her eyes again.

" Sleep darling, when we get to our destination. There will be none for you anymore!."

No doubt. The threat made Yuki's fear rise rapidly.

He had slept, by the window side. The warmth upon his face made his nose wrinkle.

Still closing his eyes, he was lost in his sleep.

Scratching his throat, he yawned— sticking his tongue out as he did so.

He finally opened his eyes, and the sunlight temporarily caused him blindness.

In a daze, he tipped the chair over, falling on its back.

His head was smacked against the floor, fulling awakening him.

" Ahh!. " He let out a puff of air. He need to growl and grumble.

He looked upon his body, he was covered in a navy blue blanket.

Seraphina? Why did she cover him so?.

He cast his glances across the room. It was untouched since yesterday.

His nose stung from a protruding odor. He snuffed it to find it's source.

It fell upon him. He was the source of the odor.

He coughed, removing the blanket upon him.

He was still on the chair, partially.

His hand was stuck in the space which was at the back of the chair.

He struggled to remove it, eventually breaking the chair.

He sighed.

" It's morning already." He gazed outside. The green leaves of each palm made him smile.

Nature was beautiful.

But he recalled the matters at hand.

The Western Central's board of Supernaturals have started moving.

To sort the case of the sudden eruption of devils and this inn would be inquired of.

Preparations would be in place, as the innkeeper is quite diligent in aspects like that but....

Kato turned against the window, as he faced the door.

He walked towards it and turned the knob.

Fling the door wide, he threw his gaze beside the door.

" Why did you sleep out her, Seraphina?." He said upon her.

Beside the door she sat, had already washed up and was in a navy blue dress, satin to be exact.

Her skin too pale, her eye lids glistening in the glow from the sunlight streaming through the ceiling window.

An angel caring for he would caused her fall.

Kato could not help but smile, this is the embodiment of good he strives to learn and achieve.

He had lost all hope just yesterday, while he sat and cried.

But here it is again, was it 'her' doing?. No.

His smile widened.

Goodwill huh? Through simple acts?. He has new path to learn now, and he has to do it wholeheartedly.

For the sake of everyone.
