Chapter 23 - Chapter 3: Verse VII

VERSE VII

Her eyes fluttered open, her soul calm and pleased.

She looked upon herself, clothed in the blue satin she had worn yesterday.

She recalled the actions yesterday briefly before suddenly jolting upright.

Her master, Kato. Is he okay?.

She threw glances across her environ before she had remembered she slept by the doorframe.

Golden luminiscence shone through the ceiling, blazing past the window.

She stood, glancing at the door.

She could not sense his presence there no longer, she turned towards the hallway.

She had found where he was within moments but she could see the spirits and figurines walking freely round the inn.

Her lips sealed, with no thread of fear upon her, she moved forward.

Yesterday, she had slept by the doorframe after he had sent her out.

She had spoken to the innkeeper as he commanded so.

Had washed up as her body puppeteered her so.

But she was left broken yesterday by his continuous weeping.

She had originally planned to stay off his sight or at the very least desist from him for the moment.

But, her soul could not bear her to do so.

Perhaps a link, for being his servant or she still retained the qualities of an angel.

Yet, it was more devastating and her anxiety heightened.

She used to be a war angel, not one of compassion.

That category differentiates alot about he qualities, yet she was feeling compassion.

Why so?.

Was it the iniquity that defiled her?. No?.

She kept her thoughts at that, aware that he has access to her thoughts.

She finally reached the stairs, the wood finely polished this morning.

A sweet aroma filled her nostrils, and her body tingled.

She heard and felt her stomach churn.

She nodded her head, affirming her famished state.

Laughter and light chuckle erupted below her.

At once, she hurried her feet.

--

She had finally reached down the stairs, the inn's parlor wiped clean and spotless.

Seemingly, according to how neat it was, there was no bloodshed yesterday.

There she saw a few young maidens, as well with gentlemen.

Well, some of them didn't look gentle at all.

She threw a quick glance, and turned towards the counter to the receptionist.

These people were lost in their discussions yet were clearly scanning her abilities.

She shook her head, not even aware she sighed.

It was exhausting that mortals actually caused wanton trouble for themselves.

If it were her master, they'd be dead.

"No!" She heard his voice inside her head. His telepathy once more.

"Your ego would bruise you, Seraphina." She heard a pause in his voice.

She had not spoken to the receptionist either, but had come to a conclusion, they all work for her master.

" Your ego would bruise you, just as it once did and caused your fall."

The sudden statement broke her mind into realization.

She stood by the counter, her head upon a book.

Raising her head once more, she gazed upon the receptionist.

A young man in his early years, eagerly smiling.

His brown hair curled across his face, and worn in a light fade.

His mustache quite light yet not scanty, as if shaved over a week.

His shirt ironed neatly, adorned with a black bowtie.

" Madam Sera, what shall I do for you?." His voice gestured a kind hearted man.

Sera?. She is addressed as Sera?.

" I'm hungry, gimme something to eat." She said.

The man bowed before her, before leaving her presence.

Where was her master?. Right now, there was no time to joke around.

Plus there are some.....

" Hello, madame." A voice called out to her.

She stood up from the counter, turning her head just right enough to glace over her shoulder.

" No need to do that, I am an open person."

One of the ladies stood up, walking towards her.

Seraphina could see the spirits around her, it was obvious she was an elementalist.

Yet she had no time to talk.

" Do I know you?." Seraphina asked politely, still not turning towards her.

" No, you don't madame. But you will soon." Seraphina heard a light cackle from her voice.

The statement was concerning, making her turn instantly.

" Forgive me, I had no way to get your attention." The lady had bowed in royal manner.

Seraphina stared onwards.

" I am Cecilly, a supernatural from the first division or Section 1 as many phrase it so."

Seraphina gazed upon her, she was quite beautiful.

An auburn haired, young lady yet her age defied her looks.

She did have light wrinkles from smiles, which concerned Seraphina.

She had big bright green eyes, and sumptuous lips too.

" As you heard, I am Sera." Yes, she would go with the name the receptionist gave her.

Seems her master and the innkeeper have spoken to each other.

She wanted to deliver the message that Board of Supernaturals are on their way here but...

She glances across the room to the other members..

She never expected them this early, nor looking like this.

The men wore trousers, brown and black.

Dressed in black shirts and they wore their hair differently, one was even bald but had beards to make up for what he lacked.

The ladies in ash shirts, but wore skirts? With trousers underneath?.

What?. Their dressing confused Seraphina.

" Why do you wish for me to know you?." Seraphina asked, her voice becoming stern.

The lady before her, Cecilly, had noticed her tone.

" Can we not be friends?." Cecilly asked.

" Answering a question with question. Not quite right." Seraphina retorted, yet slowly and politely.

Cecilly closed her eyes and nodded.

" My element spirits say—" she opened her eyes , intensely staring into Seraphina's.

" You can see them, no one has ever seen them before." She stated.

Seraphina cocked a brow.

" And?...." She asked once more.

Seraphina was aware, that wasn't the end of her statement.

Cecilly smiled once more.

" I wish to befriend you, who can see my spirits." Cecilly finished her statement.

Seraphina gazed upon her steadily.

" No."
