Chapter 255 - Oh? You’ll Teach Me to Fight, Too?

After seeing that things were getting better between the two sisters, Oliver left them to catch up on lost time while he went out for a walk.

During this time, Oliver realized that many workers were busy running around the mansion. He watched them with curiosity in his eyes as they carried on with their tasks, some sweeping the floor while others cleaned the windows.

When they noticed Oliver approaching, they would immediately stop what they were doing and greet him in a polite manner.

'It seems everyone knows me already, although it's my first time here.'

Oliver thought as he returned the greeting and continued his stroll while exploring the huge mansion that belonged to his grandfather.

As he continued to wander aimlessly around the area, Elle, who had been quietly following after him from the shadows, walked up beside Oliver.

She then leaned close to his ear and whispered. "Mr. Oliver, where exactly are you heading to?"

As usual, Elle's soft breath tickled his ear, causing him to shudder slightly.

He then turned around and saw the beautiful face of a young woman staring back at him.

He shook his head and shrugged his shoulders, "I don't know, honestly. I just feel bored, so I thought I'd go and take a walk to see what else is here."

Elle nodded, "I see. However, I think there are more important things that require your attention now."

"Such as?"

"Well, since you're going to inherit the Ashford Group, you need to become familiar with the business and understand what type of industries are involved. This way, it will make things easier for you in the future when you have to handle it. Of course, this is just my humble opinion. You can do what you want."

Oliver smiled faintly and wrapped his arms around Elle's slim waist as he brought her close to him. Then he stared deeply into her beautiful eyes.

"As my secretary, your advice is something that I cannot ignore, Elle. I just hope you will take it easy on me since I don't know anything about business and things like that."

"That's not good, Mr. Oliver," Elle responded in a soft voice. "If you want to succeed as a leader and become someone respected and admired by those around you, then you must learn everything as quickly as possible."

Then she leaned forward and placed a kiss on his cheek before adding, "However, to sweeten the deal, I can get you whatever you want, whether it's something materialistic or someone you have been dying to get your hands on. Like maybe even a celebrity, would that make you motivated, Mr. Oliver?"

The corners of Oliver's lips curled up into a mischievous grin. "What kind of celebrity do you mean by that, Elle?"

"Any kind of celebrity you want. You just name it, and I'll make it happen for you," Elle whispered. Her breath caressed against his skin, igniting an unknown heat inside his heart. "However, it will depend on whether you can complete the tasks that I will give you."

Oliver paused for a moment and pondered her words. Then, suddenly, he realized that her words weren't exactly right.

"Hold on, Elle, there's something wrong with what you just said." Oliver said as he furrowed his brows. "I thought that Mom and Anna were the ones who would be teaching me about how things work at Ashford Group. So what tasks are you referring to?"

Elle smiled sweetly and wrapped her arms around Oliver's neck while pulling him close against her chest.

"Your mother and aunt might be teaching you about the business side of things. However, as your bodyguard, it is my job to ensure your health and well-being. Therefore, I will also be teaching you the necessary skills to protect yourself whenever necessary."

"Oh, so you're going to teach me how to fight too? Well, that sounds like fun. I always wanted to learn martial arts since it seems cool."

"Of course," Elle nodded while still smiling gently. "I have already prepared a special training program specifically for you, Mr. Oliver. In fact, you will be undergoing it soon after our visit to the Ashford Group HQ is over."

She paused briefly before continuing, "After all, there are many people out there who would try to harm you, Mr. Oliver. Even if you are protected by guards every day, you shouldn't let your guard down since danger always lurks in every corner."

Elle's soft voice echoed in Oliver's ears as she finished talking, reminding him once again that being the grandson of a wealthy man such as William Ashford meant that he would forever be exposed to dangers.

And there was no guarantee that his safety could always be ensured by guards.

The most important thing was to learn self-defense and know how to protect himself no matter what happens.

This way, if ever something unexpected happens, he would at least have some confidence in keeping himself safe.

Seeing his serious expression, Elle smiled before kissing his lips tenderly. "Don't worry about it so much, Mr. Oliver. As long as I'm here by your side, I'll make sure no harm will befall you."

"I know. Thanks, Elle." Oliver replied and gave her a light peck on the lips before pulling away and winking at her. Then, he patted her butt and let go of her waist.

"Let's go now, Elle. Show me what kind of company Grandfather had built all by himself."

Elle nodded. She linked her arms with Oliver's and led him in a different direction this time.

They walked past the elegant lounge area with luxurious sofas that were arranged around glass coffee tables where guests could relax with their drinks while chatting.

And soon, they found themselves in front of an elevator.

After entering it, Elle pressed the button, and they went downwards to the basement.

The moment the doors opened, Oliver's jaw dropped upon seeing what was on the other side.
