Castle was genuinely curious. He clearly remembered that the girl named Ramsey had been secretly kidnapped by a warlord after developing her powerful program, codenamed "God's Eye." But now, it seemed like it was the chubby guy's prank that had accidentally led her to create this program.
Ramsey also appeared to be fully aware of how dangerous it would be if her program were discovered by government agencies. Her strong survival instinct impressed Castle. Though, in Castle's eyes, this program was nothing compared to his AI, Jarvis. Still, based on what he knew from the Fast and Furious storyline, Ramsey's program—which could locate anyone wherever there were cameras—was undeniably impressive.
Since the chubby guy had been sought out by the "victim," and now the chubby guy had come to Castle for help, of course Castle wasn't going to ignore the situation. After all, having watched Fast and Furious in his past life, he knew Ramsey was one of the "good guys." Helping her wouldn't be a bad thing.
Besides, Castle had his own small agenda. Although he usually led a rather leisurely life, he did own a security company. Knowing the chubby guy's lazy nature, there was no guarantee he'd be willing to handle the cybersecurity side of things. So, if Castle helped Ramsey out and then offered her a position at his security firm, it could be a win-win.
After all, anyone who earned the chubby guy's respect and friendship had to be highly skilled. Whether or not Ramsey had succeeded in creating God's Eye because of Jarvis's influence, the fact that she could design such a program on her own was proof of her ability. And now, with Jarvis quietly assisting, managing a small security firm would be a breeze.
Having thought this through, Castle called Big Ivan and instructed him to go with the chubby guy to Harlem in New York to bring the frightened Ramsey back to the estate.
Castle couldn't send Big Ivan alone—Ramsey, terrified by her own invention, might mistake him for a villain. At the same time, Castle couldn't let the chubby guy go by himself, as his combat skills were close to zero. If anything were to happen, Castle wouldn't even know where to cry about it. So, the plan was for the chubby guy to guide Big Ivan and show Ramsey that Big Ivan was on their side. Big Ivan would also bring along one of his men to ensure the safety of both the chubby guy and Ramsey on their way back to the estate.
Although Castle didn't think Ramsey was in immediate danger, caution was always advisable. After all, in Fast and Furious, Ramsey had been kidnapped by a warlord soon after creating God's Eye. Who knew exactly when that warlord started targeting her? Better to be safe than sorry.
After sending the chubby guy off with Big Ivan and his team, Castle, feeling a bit more interested in the situation, paused his own work and headed to the basement. There, he found Jarvis, who was like a ravenous beast devouring data from the world's networks. Castle called Jarvis over to ask for a favor.
Given that Castle's current technology wasn't on par with Tony Stark's Marvel universe counterpart, he couldn't communicate with Jarvis remotely at all times. And since his phone hadn't been specially modified, Castle didn't dare to let Jarvis contact him through his iPhone, knowing all too well the extremes to which the CIA went to spy on civilian communications.
He was well aware that in a few years, Edward Snowden would expose the CIA's mass surveillance practices, causing a global uproar.
So, until Castle had finished developing his communication wristbands for direct contact with Jarvis, he had to settle for walking over to the main console whenever he needed to communicate with the AI, which was busy scouring the world for information.
What he wanted Jarvis to investigate was none other than the whereabouts of Dominic Toretto and his gang of street racers. After Ramsey's unexpected appearance, Castle thought it wise to keep an eye on the gang's activities.
In Fast and Furious, Ramsey didn't appear until the seventh movie, whereas Castle and the chubby guy had gotten involved with them during the events of the fifth movie, set in Brazil. Could it be that they had already gone through the events of the sixth movie, involving Owen Shaw?
That would be quite the development! In the movie, Owen Shaw caused chaos in London, even bombing a massive building and attacking Interpol headquarters.
In just five seconds, Jarvis had gathered all the information. Castle marveled at the AI's speed. It seemed that after their escapade in Brazil, Dominic had indeed been found by Hobbs. The group had been pushing themselves hard to earn their pardons. Castle wondered how they would react once they faced Owen Shaw's vengeful brother, Deckard Shaw, who would soon come after them.
According to the data Jarvis pulled from classified files in London and the U.S., Brian O'Conner had become a father and was living happily with Mia and their son Jack. Dominic had reunited with his sister, and against the odds, the long-legged Israeli girl who was supposed to have died in Fast 6 had somehow survived and gone to Tokyo with Han.
Meanwhile, the only member of their team that Castle had personally encountered, Giselle (Vanessa), had retired and was living a peaceful life in Spain. The rest of the crew had helped Hobbs catch Owen Shaw and had earned their pardons. But soon, they'd learn how dangerous it was to provoke someone as vengeful as Deckard Shaw. Han wouldn't live much longer before being blown up in Tokyo, leaving behind the question of whether the tough Israeli girl by his side could save him.
Castle wasn't particularly concerned about Han, though. Since Han wasn't from his own country, Castle had no intention of interfering. He was content to sit back and watch as Deckard Shaw blew up Han in Tokyo, then destroyed Dominic's home in Los Angeles. It would be entertaining to watch the two sides go to war.
However, Jarvis's research showed that Ramsey hadn't yet attracted the attention of the warlord who would eventually kidnap her in Fast 7.
This meant Castle had just gained a brilliant hacker for free. Hah!
With some time on his hands, Castle kept an eye on the street racers' movements. Since he had managed to intercept Ramsey before the creation of God's Eye became public, it was unlikely that Fast 7 would unfold as it originally did. Without the events of Fast 7, Dominic and his crew might go straight to facing Cipher, the villain portrayed by Charlize Theron.
Now that was a truly formidable foe. If Castle hadn't developed Jarvis, he wouldn't have stood a chance against someone like Cipher. She had a ghost plane and was a master manipulator. Castle was certain that without his AI and supercomputer, he wouldn't be able to fight back. But now, with Jarvis by his side, he had nothing to fear. As long as Cipher didn't mess with him, Castle wouldn't go looking for trouble.
But if she did cross him, well, she'd better hope her god was watching over her.
Looking over the information Jarvis had collected, Castle realized that Dominic and his crew had just completed their mission with Hobbs, capturing Owen Shaw and earning their pardons. This meant that not only had Fast 8 not started yet, but even Fast 7 hadn't kicked off. And since Castle had already intercepted Ramsey, Fast 7 likely wouldn't happen at all. There was no need to worry about that plotline.
After instructing Jarvis to keep an eye on the gang's movements, Castle didn't even bother trying to locate Cipher's ghost plane with Jarvis's supercomputer. He simply left the basement, trusting Jarvis to continue gathering information without being detected.
Now, his most pressing task was to convince Ramsey—the brilliant hacker who had developed God's Eye in the original story—once the chubby guy brought her back to the estate.
