As mentioned earlier, Castle had come to realize that his previous approach of working solo was no longer practical. Moreover, his father, Sean, had transferred ownership of a small security company to Castle, prioritizing the safety of Castle's family, particularly his son and granddaughter, Alexis. This meant Castle now had around 180 personnel working for him.
While the primary mission of this security company was to protect Castle and his family, they had secretly been assigned to watch over Martha and Alexis since Sean and Castle reunited in Paris. Once Sean realized that his son was no longer the same man he used to be, he officially handed over the company to him.
Recently, Castle had been engrossed in developing artificial intelligence and was contemplating who could manage this new responsibility. Mozzie was an unlikely candidate since he was more of a friend than a worker, and he wouldn't want to run a security company focused entirely on Castle's family's protection.
Castle had been struggling with this dilemma, but who would have thought that after granting the chubby guy access to Jarvis, he would prank his hacker friend and accidentally prompt Ramsey to develop the God's Eye? This near-miss with disaster, which had left Ramsey terrified, resulted in her reaching out to the chubby guy for help. And that, Castle thought, was serendipity at its finest.
A skilled hacker like Ramsey showing up at his doorstep seeking protection was a golden opportunity. Not only could Castle intercept the God's Eye program before it caught the attention of the warlord from the original story, but he could also offer Ramsey a position as the head of the cybersecurity department in his security company.
Of course, this would only be temporary. Castle had plans to invent communication wristbands and advanced holographic systems. Once those projects were ready, he would undoubtedly collaborate with major tech companies like Steve Jobs' firm. After all, starting his own company would be unrealistic. Mozzie could assist with the administrative aspects of dealing with these companies, but Castle still needed someone with technical expertise. Ramsey, with her skills comparable to the chubby guy, would be perfect for this role.
Ramsey's hacking prowess, as depicted in Fast and Furious, was undeniable. She was a valuable asset, and getting her on board before the warlord from Fast 7 could target her was a strategic win.
Moreover, Castle had the ultimate prize for a hacker: not just a supercomputer but also an artificial intelligence like Jarvis. Castle figured that no hacker could resist the allure of such resources. After all, how many hackers in the world could claim to have used a supercomputer for their work, let alone one as sophisticated as Jarvis?
Castle didn't intend to hide the fact that he had an AI from Ramsey. First, it wasn't that big of a secret—he didn't plan on advertising it but wasn't worried about keeping it under wraps either. Second, by showing her Jarvis upfront, Ramsey would realize that her God's Eye program wasn't as earth-shattering as she thought. And lastly, Castle knew that once Ramsey joined his team, she would eventually figure out the existence of Jarvis. It was better to be upfront and ease her mind rather than let her shoulder the unnecessary pressure of believing she had created something groundbreaking.
The most important concern for Castle was that if the CIA or Homeland Security discovered Ramsey's program, they might try to seize it under the guise of national security. Even with Jarvis's ability to destroy the program, the mere existence of such a tool could lead to complications. After all, the CIA had already been secretly spying on citizens since the early days of analog cell phones. Now, in the era of smartphones, they had only become more aggressive, using keyword monitoring and even collaborating with phone companies to install backdoors in devices. If they discovered Ramsey's program, which could locate any individual with access to a camera, Ramsey's best-case scenario would be a life under constant surveillance, with her invention handed over to intelligence agencies.
So, when the chubby guy begged for help and Castle wanted to stay under the radar, he didn't hesitate to send his head of security, Big Ivan, along with the chubby guy to bring Ramsey to his estate.
As Castle leisurely sipped a cup of strong coffee in the main hall of his estate, enjoying the aroma, Big Ivan and one of his men brought in the still-nervous Ramsey. Big Ivan promptly exited, leaving the chubby guy to comfort the visibly shaken girl. Although Ramsey and the chubby guy had known each other online for years, this was their first time meeting in person. It wasn't until the chubby guy had hacked into Ramsey's computer, leaving behind his signature mark, that she realized the gravity of what she had created and instinctively reached out to him for help.
This chain of events truly seemed like destiny. Had the chubby guy not been showing off with Jarvis, the God's Eye program might never have come to be. And if Castle wasn't a time traveler, he wouldn't have known who Ramsey was or that she was a brilliant hacker. He certainly wouldn't have asked the chubby guy to bring her back to the estate. So, in a way, Castle bore some responsibility for what had unfolded.
But the outcome was quite favorable. Castle knew that Ramsey was a skilled hacker, tested by the Fast and Furious universe. Aside from Cipher, the well-equipped mastermind with a full team, Ramsey had proven herself to be one of the most capable computer experts.
And it just so happened that Castle possessed the very tools that could draw hackers like Ramsey—both a personal supercomputer and an artificial intelligence. As soon as Ramsey stepped into his estate, Castle knew she had fallen into his trap.
For a hacker like Ramsey, there was nothing more enticing than unrestricted access to a high-performance supercomputer. Add in the world's only artificial intelligence, and Castle was confident that once he introduced her to Jarvis, she wouldn't be able to leave, even if he wanted her to.
When the chubby guy brought the nervous Ramsey into the room, Castle, lounging with a relaxed demeanor, greeted her with a smile that resembled the wolf eyeing the lamb. "Ramsey, right? I know you're a friend of Harry's. Don't worry. The program you created isn't as terrifying as you think.
And another thing—you're lucky you contacted Harry right away. That means, for now, only the three of us know about it. As long as this doesn't reach the wrong people, you're not in any immediate danger."
Ramsey, though still apprehensive about the future, couldn't help but feel defensive. The way Castle downplayed her creation of God's Eye didn't sit well with her. "Mr. Castle, how can you say God's Eye isn't terrifying? Do you even know what this thing is capable of?"
Castle figured that the chubby guy hadn't explained the full scope of the estate's resources to Ramsey, given that Big Ivan and his associate had been present during the journey. So, instead of getting angry, Castle smiled again and said, "Come with me. Let me show you something."
