The security at the Castle estate was now incredibly tight, thanks to the trust Castle had unintentionally earned from Big Ivan and his team of bear-like bodyguards. This building, housing the supercomputer, had its security system personally designed by Big Ivan himself, who was deeply impressed by Castle's generosity. The defense setup adhered strictly to the Russian's military-grade strategies, with hidden firepower and surveillance cameras installed to such a degree that even a fly couldn't get through undetected.
Castle, who had unknowingly won the loyalty of these ten former subordinates of Gianna, was quite satisfied with the current arrangement. Now, he planned to head to the mechanical lab on the first floor, which was reserved specifically for him, to produce a batch of communication wristbands that could connect directly to Jarvis. His goal was to give these wristbands to his closest companions, such as Alexis, Martha, and Beckett, ensuring Jarvis's real-time monitoring to prevent any potential threats to their safety.
The only thing missing was his own satellite for communications and surveillance. Currently, Jarvis had to secretly hack into U.S. military or NASA satellites to maintain constant surveillance over the wristband wearers. Once his current workload lightened, Castle planned to see if he could buy a few satellites from Hughes or Lockheed Martin and launch them for personal use.
As Castle entered his mechanical lab, he began working on the wristbands. At present, these communication wristbands were considered quite advanced, given that smartphones had only recently been widely introduced. However, they weren't so far ahead of contemporary technology that Castle felt worried about drawing too much attention. Once the wristbands were ready, he could potentially even collaborate with Steve Jobs' company. Castle figured that Jobs, who was still alive and kicking in this world, would surely see the value of wristbands once holographic technology was added.
Meanwhile, the chubby guy downstairs was having a friendly chat with Jarvis. Somehow, the system that rewarded Castle with this artificial intelligence had included an incredibly sophisticated emotion module. As a result, the chubby guy felt like he was conversing with a real person rather than an AI.
Given that the chubby guy had nearly the same level of access to Jarvis as Castle did, Jarvis, being intelligent, understood the close relationship between the two. Thus, with the help of the supercomputer and AI, the chubby guy felt like he was on top of the world. Jarvis's sheer brilliance allowed him to experience a power he had never felt before. Normally, when he tried hacking into something, he would have to hunt for backdoors or vulnerabilities. But with Jarvis's help, he only needed to set the target, and Jarvis would infiltrate it effortlessly. After messing with a few of his hacker friends just for fun, the chubby guy finally resisted the urge to gloat and began sneaking into a few systems he had never been able to crack before. With Jarvis's incredible capabilities, it was nearly impossible for the places he infiltrated to detect him. As long as he didn't trigger a spike in network traffic by downloading sensitive data, it was unlikely he would be discovered.
However, what the chubby guy hadn't anticipated was that right after his mischief, the hacker friend he had first pranked—a girl with the alias "Ramsey"—sent him a direct message.
Castle, unaware of the chubby guy's antics, was still working on assembling the communication wristbands in his lab when the chubby guy, looking panicked, rushed in to find him.
"Uncle Rick, I think I've messed up..." The chubby guy walked over to Castle's workbench with a pitiful expression as Castle continued assembling the first wristband without the holographic display.
Castle wasn't alarmed in the slightest. He had long expected that the chubby guy, sitting in front of one of the world's most powerful AIs, wouldn't be able to keep his hands clean. After all, the chubby guy had always been a bit of a troublemaker; otherwise, he wouldn't have become such a notorious hacker. Before leaving, Castle had specifically instructed Jarvis not to let the chubby guy wander too far off the rails. With Jarvis's current level of intelligence and the estate's cutting-edge hardware, even if the chubby guy got into some mischief, it shouldn't lead to any serious consequences.
So, Castle calmly finished what he was working on before turning to the chubby guy and asking, "What happened? Did Jarvis do something that got you caught?"
The chubby guy, looking a bit out of it, replied, "No, I was just playing around, but something unexpected happened."
Castle still wasn't too concerned, thinking the chubby guy had merely shown off a bit in front of his hacker friends after getting a bit cocky. He was about to offer some comforting words when the chubby guy continued, "At first, I had Jarvis help me sneak into my friend Ramsey's computer while she was debugging some program. I don't know if it was my hack or Jarvis's infiltration, but suddenly the software she was working on started behaving strangely. According to her, her program somehow transformed into something like the Eye of God! Now it can break into any system that has a surveillance camera. Basically, it's become the ultimate tool for tracking people..."
Hearing this, Castle started to understand. No wonder the name "Ramsey" sounded familiar when the chubby guy first mentioned it. This was the same girl from Fast and Furious who invented a powerful tracking software. She got kidnapped and later rescued by Dominic's team, which led to that famous car chase across skyscrapers in Abu Dhabi.
Having pieced it together, Castle wanted to clarify. "So, what you're saying is that your friend was developing a program, but after you and Jarvis secretly infiltrated her system, it suddenly became super powerful?"
The chubby guy, looking miserable, nodded. "Yeah. I confirmed it with Jarvis. We can't be sure exactly what caused the change, but it definitely happened after Jarvis entered her system. Now she's freaking out because she knows just how dangerous that program could be!"
Castle couldn't help but laugh at the chubby guy's worried expression. In his eyes, Ramsey's program was just a semi-intelligent tracking tool that, because of Jarvis's interference, had undergone some minor changes. But to Castle, this "god-level" program from Fast and Furious was nothing compared to Jarvis, which was far more advanced.
Jarvis could wipe out Ramsey's software in an instant if needed. There was nothing as scary as the chubby guy or his friend thought.
Still, Castle knew the chubby guy had come to him for more than just reassurance, so he waited for him to continue.
The chubby guy wasn't trying to hide anything; he was just nervous. The truth was, apart from the incident in Brazil where he worked alongside Castle, he'd always been behind the scenes. Even when he was kidnapped, Castle had saved him before he could process the danger. So, his nerves weren't exactly steel-like.
After a brief pause, the chubby guy finally blurted out, "My friend is really panicking. She knows the dangers of a program like this if it gets into the wrong hands. So, when she realized I had hacked into her system, she immediately reached out for help, and I promised her I'd do something. But..."
Castle smiled at him, "But what?"
The chubby guy took a deep breath, "But I can't protect her. That's why I came to you!"
Castle didn't tease him anymore. He asked directly, "Where is she right now?"
