"Are you from the sky?" Kurama's deep voice rumbled through the space, asking me with clear hostility in every word, and I grinned wildly at the question.
"Oh, do you mean those horned alien suckers? One of them was your sky daddy too, right?" I asked rhetorically with my own inhuman deep voice, letting the words hang in the air between us.
*Woooshh!*
"Watch your mouth! Who are you?!" Kurama screamed angrily, but this time there was so much malice packed into those two words that even I was surprised for a second. The sheer weight of it pressed down on me like a mountain.
"Haha, Kurama, this killing intent you are releasing is just making me more excited, you know." I replied with a chuckle, letting the pressure wash over me like water off a rock.
'How does he know my name?!' Kurama thought with a little shock.
*BANG!*
Kurama punched the cage from the inside, the iron bars rattling and groaning under the force of his strike. The sound echoed through the cavern like thunder. "Don't play with me, you insignificant sprout! I said who are you and what are your goals for being here?!" He shouted angrily, his nine tails thrashing behind him like angry serpents.
"Kurama, you can feel the connection between us because of how similar we are as a species. Do you find it hard to believe that there are more of your kind in this world besides you and your siblings?" My voice was steady.
I looked intensely at Kurama's huge red eyes, watching for any reaction.
"That's impossible!" His voice boomed through the cavern. "You have no chakra! And how do you know about the other eight?!" He asked in bewilderment, his eyes narrowing to slits.
I knew his eyes and senses were special. He could detect the tiniest bits of details in someone, probably down to the molecular level if he pushed it. So he already knew I hadn't lied to him or Mito this entire time. He had heard everything we talked about before I came here.
"Chakra is overrated anyway. It's a parasitic energy coming from those sky daddies. If they can give you that energy, then they can also take it back any moment. My body is more than enough, I have evolution on my side." I said with a smirk hidden behind my armor.
Kurama stayed silent, and I could almost see the gears turning in his massive head. He was thinking about my fight with Mito, how I had evolved through the battle, how I had grown stronger in real time just by fighting someone stronger than me.
"As for how I know about your siblings, let's just say I know a little bit about the plot of this world." I revealed, watching his reaction carefully. My mind was already racing ahead, trying to figure out how to take advantage of this situation before Mito found out I was here and came crashing in.
I just looked at Kurama, who stayed silent because he probably didn't find any lies in what I said. His eyes were fixed on me and analyzing.
"If you don't believe me, I will tell you your own future... but for a price." I raised my index finger to emphasize my point, letting the words settle in the air.
"What do you want?" He asked while showing his teeth, trying to intimidate me with that massive jaw full of fangs the size of trees.
'Let's hope he agrees to what I will ask from him. Even if he doesn't agree then it's his own problem, not mine.' I thought excitedly.
"In exchange for some of your blood, I wil–"
*ROARRR!!*
"DO YOU THINK I WILL JUST GIVE YOU MY ESSENCE FOR SOME PATHETIC INFORMATION, VERMIN?!" He interrupted and shouted with enough anger to shake the entire cavern, releasing all his malice at me in waves.
I just stared at him while feeling extremely annoyed for being interrupted like that. The killing intent was impressive, sure, but it ain't a time to be a stingy asshole.
"Even a tiny bit will do the thing. Are you that weak to get affected by just a small amount of blood? Act like your size!" I asked as I grit my teeth, slowly running out of patience with this oversized stupid fox and his dramatics.
"Watch what you are saying before I crush you, sprout!" He said loudly, and I clenched my fists in anger.
"So you don't want to know how you will remain inside this shithole for forty years?" I sighed and calmed myself down, then threw him some bones hopefully he would take the bait.
And it worked. He instantly became bamboozled as his malice and chakra disappeared instantly.
"Dafuk?! What do you mean by forty fucking years?!" He instantly asked, his eyes widening in surprise, all the bravado gone in an instant and grabbed the irons of his cell as he looked at me frantically like the pathetic prisoner he is.
"Oh, you are interested now? Give me your blood and I will talk. Simple as that." I said with a smirk, crossing my arms over my chest.
He stared at me intensely for a few seconds, his massive eyes boring into mine like he was trying to see through to my very soul. "You give me the info and help me get out of this cage, then I will flood you in my blood." He said, and I grinned.
"Deal! But you getting out is not possible for now and maybe not in the near future. Are you ok with that?" I asked as I kept my voice level.
"How many years exactly?" He asked with irritation creeping back into his voice.
"It's unknown, but just know that I will do my part in helping you when the time comes, alright? You are thousands of years old, some 10 or so years ain't that long." I said as I got near my new business acquaintance and sat down, crossing my legs and getting comfortable. "Let me narrow down your story from the future, just before the day you get out of the cage temporarily only to be sealed again inside a pathetic kid named Naruto."
Then I went on and on about his story and this cage very quickly, not caring what my actions will cause.
I looked at the huge fox sitting cross legged in his cage which was kind of comical to look at with his ass acting human while looking monstrous, his hand supporting his chin as he listened to me carefully.
"You will have to wait until that day before something happens and you will have the opportunity to get out." I said while watching his expression shift through a range of emotions I didn't expect from a giant demon fox.
"So what's your role in all of this? How do you plan to help me when I already got out inside of that woman Kushina you talked about?" He asked while looking at me in doubt. I hadn't told him a single lie from the moment we met till now, but I understood his skepticism. Trust was hard to come by when you'd been locked and tortured in a cage for years.
"I am everything but a poor businessman, I will do my part as I said. Give me your blood and I will tell you the remaining part." I stood up and said while getting near the iron bars of his cage, raising my hand for him to pay me.
"Hmph. You better tell me or else–"
"Yeah yeah, just give it to me damn it! I don't know how time works in this place, that woman will find out soon, be quick!" I urged him to hurry up, my eyes darting around expecting Mito to appear.
*Snort.*
He snorted and raised his claw then stretching it toward me. His nail started to elongate, sliding through the gaps in the iron bars until it was right in front of my face. And there it was, a tiny bright red liquid sliding down his nail toward the tip, glowing with an inner light that made my mouth water.
'Hope my adaptation does its thing and I get something out of this.' I thought with excitement bubbling in my chest.
The Gold and Silver Brothers had gotten something from eating Kurama's flesh even though they were regular humans. But what if I did the same?
This was a risk , but a risk that could pay off... hopefully.
The moment I met Mito years ago, or better say, when Miller met Mito years ago, I knew that trusting that woman was the greatest mistake.
Now after meeting that woman and even fighting her, I knew that feeling of distrust just elevated to a whole new level.
My instincts are never wrong about someone. She, Hashirama, and Tobirama... they aren't people you can put even 1% of trust. I seldom even doubt my own parents in this world.
Compared to them, Kurama looks as pure as a traumatised baby. My instincts tell me that Kurama is someone you can trust. And since I am here, why not try and become stronger?
The moment the nail got near my face, the armor around my mouth dissolved and I opened wide, revealing a mouth full of sharp inhuman teeth. I gulped down the blood, and the moment it hit my tongue, a heavenly taste exploded in my mouth that made my mind go numb. It was like drinking liquid fire and pure ecstasy all at once, and I was shuddering from the feeling, getting a little drunk off the sheer intensity of it.
My vision blurred at the edges, my thoughts scattering like leaves in the wind. For a few seconds, I was floating in pure bliss.
But...
"You do realise that you are here only in your spiritual form and not physical, right?" Kurama said with a raised eyebrow, and instantly I snapped out of whatever state I was in.
"I don't even know why you need my blood that much. What will that do to you exactly? Is it really that important to share your secrets for that?" He asked curiously, tilting his massive head.
I just stood there, processing what he said.
"I remember two individuals eating my flesh when I swallowed them, and they gained some tiny bit of my power. It's not like the same will happen to you, so why? I am curious." He asked again with much more interest in his voice now, leaning forward in his cage.
"I know but forget about that. You will find out soon." I said without much emotion.
'Fuck!' I cursed internally.
I could feel the blood in my system, the power of it, but if it was just spiritual essence and not physical... what was the point? Did I just trade future knowledge for fox-flavored disappointment?!
Damn!
Still, I can feel some subtle changes, so this stupidity wasn't pointless... hopefully.
Plus, now I got my own pokemon acquaintance.
"Let me tell you the remaining part and leave this shithole of a place." I said with gritted teeth, forcing myself to focus.
"Why are you suddenly angry, boy? Don't be angry he..he!" The asshole said with a smirk, clearly amused by my suffering.
"Shut it and hear me out, the thing that happened afte–"
*Clank clank swwish.*
Before I finished what I was about to say, familiar golden chains wrapped around me from everywhere, covering everything except my head before I could even react. They tightened around my arms, my legs, my chest, locking me in place like a prisoner... again.
"How.did.you.get.in.this.place?" I heard Mito's voice asking, each word dripping with controlled fury.
'Shit.'
I turned my head with difficulty to look at her youthful face, which was covered in tick marks and her red hair shining brightly like flames in the darkness of the mindscape.
"..."
"..."
The silence stretched between us. Kurama had retreated to the back of his cage, avoiding whatever shit was coming, watching the scene unfold with the amusement of someone who wasn't currently in the line of fire.
I opened my mouth to say something.
"Nice day for fishing, ain't it?"
The End.
