"How did you get in this place?" She asked slowly with tick marks on her forehead, her red hair shining brightly in the dim light of the mindscape.
"..."
"..."
"I said HOW did you get in here?" Mito repeated, staring at me with her anger rising by the second.
"I don't know. I closed my eyes for a second and I was just here all of a sudden." I replied and tried to shrug but failed because of the chains wrapped around me like golden snakes.
*ROAARRR!*
"GET OUT OF HERE, WOMAN!" Kurama suddenly shouted loudly, his ominous red chakra spreading wildly across the room like a tidal wave of pure hatred, making the very air vibrate with his fury.
*Clank clank ROARRR! Clank.*
"Shut up, fox." Mito said while restraining Kurama with Adamantine Chains that pierced his body, then closing his mouth forcibly with chains too, wrapping around his snout like a muzzle.
"That's cruel." I said while looking at my business partner with genuine pity. Here was this ancient powerful being, one of the nine tailed beasts, and he was being treated like a disobedient dog.
"I just don't get it." I said with a tilt of my head, my monstrous voice echoing. "Why an intelligent woman like you has never talked to a freaking talking fox that you imprisoned against his will, then try to understand him just once like the other animals you use for summoning?"
I asked with genuine curiosity because this literally didn't make any sense to me. I knew Kurama talked to her frequently when something happened, but why did Mito never try to understand him even though I was sure she knew Kurama was actually not that different from the other animals like the toads who could speak and be summoned?
"A 'monster' like you will never understand!" She said with disdain evident in her face, her lips curling like she had tasted something sour.
"So you think you are the 'human' here and the better of us mindless monsters?" I asked with a smirk that I knew she couldn't see but could probably feel in my voice.
*Clank krk.*
I looked at Kurama who was trying to break free from the chains, his massive eyes narrowed at me as if asking if I should really tell her the truth.
"What defines a monster really?" I said.
"What do you mean by that?" She asked gently while frowning, her anger momentarily replaced by interest. The chains around me loosened somewhat.
"Let's make a deal." I said with my monstrous voice while tilting my head to the right, the armor around my neck creaking with the movement.
"What deal?" She asked with a raised eyebrow, her hand dropping to her side.
"I will tell you some information about future events and you will give me some things in return." I said as I thought about the things that I wanted from her. The list was growing in my head, and I needed to prioritize.
Did I care about canon and butterflies? Fuck that shit. This is my life and I will do whatever the fuck I want. As long as I have enough power to protect myself then all can go to hell for all I care.
(Author here/ No one is here to read about Naruto's original plot again, so I plan to butcher the plot and create something entirely new, exciting and shi using Naruto world's background. Don't forget the Kingdombuilding tag.)
"You declare that you know the future? But how can I believe such a thing from your kind? Your aura screams suspicious to me. Who knows what your intentions are in all of this!" She said coldly, her eyes narrowing.
"You little hypocrite. My aura screams suspicious and yours doesn't? Have you ever looked in the mirror?" I said with amusement, "You judge me just because of something I can't control? How ridiculous of you, woman. I have never killed a single human till now. But what about you? Tell me how many times you participated in mass murdering innocent people?" I said mockingly in one breath, each word dripping with more sarcasm.
"This big guy chained here is the evidence of your bullshit. Before that fuckass of a husband and his boyfriend Madara, what do you think the Kyuubi was doing except for lazing around and sleeping for thousands of years in some unknown mountain?"
"..."
'I am not lazy and had things to do too actually.' Kurama thought with a frown but didn't interrupt.
"If you are judging me and him based on our racial differences, then I will have to say that we are very much more human than you ever could be. At least, we haven't done 1% of whatever crap you yourself and your clans committed. And that big dude over there is older than the history of your whole clan, which tells you something." I said with a frown this time.
"Kyuubi may have done some bads, maybe killed thousands in the past. But what about you? You label him as evil, but you have been committing atrocities for thousands of years and still going. Maybe every accusation is a confession? Where have I seen this before?" I said while thinking about Miller's world and the nonsense that's going on in there.
*Clank krr.*
My words must have triggered something in her because I felt the chains tighten around me so strongly that it hurt like hell even though I wasn't physically present here.
I was about to get crushed before I forced the words out. "Agghhh, you are going t...to kill your gra...nddaughter's b...boyfriend just like t...that?"
Even though I felt like shit for using Tsunade like this, I would make it up to her later. But for now, whether I survived or not depended on this conversation.
The chains loosened around me immediately when I mentioned Tsunade, and Mito's face shifted from cold fury to something more complicated. "You are not playing with her feelings, right?"
"I like her for real." I said, my voice sincere despite its monstrous timbre. "You can even tell if I am lying through your Kagura eye this whole time, so you should know I never lied to you till now."
I threw some secrets at her face, watching her reaction carefully. Her eyes widened for a few seconds, the truth of my words settling into her bones, then she frowned and asked, "What do you want in exchange for the information?"
I immediately put a victory smile on my face under my armor, feeling the corners of my mouth stretch wide. "Nothing much." I raised my first claw-like index finger.
"Speak." She ordered with her hands clenched at her sides.
"First is for you to teach me anything related to human and animal anatomy and anything related to the human or animal body in general. Everything you know, I want it." I said while looking at Mito carefully, watching for any sign of refusal.
"Iryō Ninjutsu knowledge but without chakra, right?" She said and I nodded.
"Consider it done." She said, and I raised my middle finger beside my index one.
"Second is that I want you to give me the summoning scroll to the Shikkotsu Forest." I said, and she nodded without hesitation, her expression unreadable.
"Third is that I want you to create a very specific seal for me that has the effect to negate the copy abilities of the Sharingan or any kind of copy ability if possible." I said while looking carefully at Mito, whose eyebrow was raised in curiosity.
"I don't want my techniques that I worked hard to create to be stolen just like that easily." I explained before she asked.
She nodded slowly, the gears turning in her head. "You will pay for the service and the fuinjutsu equipment. I have to create the seal from scratch and I will need a good amount of fuin equipment."
"No problem." I nodded.
"But it will take some time." She added.
"How much?" I asked curiously, because if it took too much time then I would have to delay some of my future plans.
"At least 5 years." She replied, her voice flat.
"Why the hell that long?!" I yelled in surprise, my voice echoing off the cavern walls.
"Your order is too specific and difficult. Deal with it." She replied calmly, and I clenched my teeth in annoyance.
"That's all for now, maybe I will demand another thing in the future, so make it count." I said.
"As long as it's within reason." She replied and I nodded.
'I need to get rich real fucking fast.' I thought while some ideas flashed through my mind. Ramen franchises, weapon designs, or maybe I could sell some modern inventions.
Or writing novels and manga?
Maybe I can recreate the blueprint for AK-47 and some other rifles and handguns then give it to the Samurais?
"Now tell me what information you have about the future." She said with a glint in her eyes.
I looked at her for a few seconds while thinking about what I should and shouldn't tell her.
"I want to exactly tell you two things that involves you greatly." I raised my index and middle finger again. "First is that 3 out of the 5 great villages will eradicate the Uzumaki clan in the very near future."
I paused while looking at Mito's face carefully to know how she would react, but she just looked at me without much emotion and didn't say anything. I shrugged and continued.
"The second is that the Senju clan will get annihilated too except Tsunade, by the same village they served and shed blood for." I stopped without saying anything else. From now on, those two clans were Mito's headache to deal with.
Not like I would have cared either way.
"..."
But surprisingly, I didn't get the reaction that I expected from her. She was standing there in her place coldly without showing much emotion, just like her usual self.
I stared intensely at her for a few moments before everything clicked in my mind.
In the anime show, this woman was depicted as trustworthy. Same for Hashirama and Tobirama, so it was confusing that I felt wariness and danger when I met this woman.
But it seems, the real world is much more than what some obscure show says about the reality of these ninjas' lives.
There were many theories as to why Mito didn't help when her clan was being massacred.
But now, it's clear that not only this woman knows the future also, but she didn't do anything on purpose.
"Bwahahahahahaha so you knew about the future events and everything! But the look on your eyes tell me that you wouldn't have done anything anyway Bwahahahahah!!" I laughed loudly, my voice coming out distorted that filled the mindscape.
"FWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Kurama also caught on and started laughing too as the chains around his mouth broke, his massive body shaking from laughter.
"BWAHAHAHA!" "FWAHAHAHA!" "BWAHAHAHA!" "FWAHAHAHA!"
We both laughed mockingly at Mito because of how ridiculous she looked at this moment. Her face was completely blank, her body frozen, like a statue that had been standing there for centuries.
'Man, who would have thought hahaha.' I thought as I found this funny and pathetic at the same time. The legendary Uzumaki Mito, the woman who had captured the Kyuubi, who had stood beside the God of Shinobi, who had seen wars and peace and everything in between...
And she had known about everything.
"YOU don't even have the right to talk about men, monsters, and humanity at all buahahaha!!" I said loudly.
"FWAHAHAHAHAH!"
"Playing the moral high ground, but only to come out as someone so disgusting that makes me want to PUKE!" I stopped laughing and gritted my teeth at this evil Thing.
"FUAHAHAAHAHAHAH STUPID WOMAN!!" Kurama was still roaring with laughter.
"..."
"Fuahahahahah!"
"..."
"Fuahaha– wait a fucking minute!!!" Kurama suddenly widened his eyes and snapped his head lightning speed then looked at me.
"Hey twerp!!" He called me and I ignored Mito and looked at Kurama.
"What?" I said.
"You are still asking me that twerp!" Kurama gritted his teeth.
"What's wrong though?" I asked with a tilt of my head.
"What's wrong?!! Everything is wrong you fucking twerp! Mito also knows the future for fuck's sake! Why does she know the future?!" Kurama roared.
"Owww that? I don't know." I replied with a shrug.
"You stupid sprout!! You know the future but don't know who knows the future and just came here to give me hope of getting out only for the motherfucking final boss to also know what will happen in the future!! Fuck you!" Kurama roared as he cursed me which made me angry too.
"Calm your fucking nuts down you ass fox! She may know the future but she doesn't know about our plan!!" I replied.
*BANGGGGG!!!*
"ROARRRRRR!!! YOU STUPID CUNT!! NOW SHE KNOWS WE GOT A PLAN BECAUSE YOU SAID IT!! YOU ASSHOLEEEE!!" Kurama thrashed around and banged his head on the iron bars of his cell while rolling off his killing intent at me.
"What plan?" Mito muttered absentmindedly but we both heard her.
'Oops.'
"FUCK YOU GAROU FUCK YOUUU!!!!!"
"Uhhhhhhh, Plan? What plan there is no plan–" I turned to look at Mito only to get surprised and immediately called Kurama who was fuming with immense rage.
"Ahhh, Kurama!" I called the fox while looking at Mito strangely. Her tears were falling freely now, but her face hadn't changed at all.
But Kurama was not having it! His only chance of escape got already compromised, and now he has to rot away in this sewage that smelled like unwashed pussy for God knows how long!
"I CURSE YOU WITH THE CURSE OF INFERTILITY GAROU!! I HOPE YOU DIE!! I HOPE YOUR FUTURE CHILD IS A GIRL AND ASKS WHERE HER DADDY IS THEN SOMEONE ELSE REPLIES TO HER INSTEAD OF YOU AND THEN GET TO KNOW THAT HER REAL DADDY IS GA–"
"SHUT THE HELL UP FOR A SECOND AND LOOK YOU STUPID BASTARD!!!!" I yelled with red eyes at the top of my lungs.
"YOU SHUT UP–"
"It's ENOUGH! Just look!" I said while pointing at Mito with my now movable body. She was crying a river of tears, but her cold look was still plastered on her face like a mask that had fused to her skin.
"..."
"..."
"Damn!" Kurama finally calmed down with his eyes widened in shock the moment he looked at her, his anger forgotten instantly.
"Does this happen regularly?" I asked Kurama with a hand on my chin, genuinely curious.
"No, this is the second time I've seen her cry after that wood fucker died." He said rudely, which made Mito's eyebrow twitch for a millisecond.
"Hmm, I think we really broke her, Kurama." I said with my eyes widened too.
"Hey, do you really think she knows about our deal?" Kurama said, and I shook my head at this stupid guy. His mind was only on that matter.
"And how would I know? The moment I told you your future, everything regarding the future I told you now is different. Who knows what will happen from now on." I said.
I just stood in my place for a while with Kurama, looking at Mito who was absentmindedly crying without moving an inch.
"Psst, Kurama, what should I do?" I whispered loudly, and he looked at me weirdly but seriously.
"And how should I know that, you sprout?!" He asked with his eyebrows raised, his tails swishing behind him.
"I mean, you are the oldest among your siblings, so maybe you should know how to make a crying woman stop crying." I said with a shrug, watching his face for any sign of advice.
"Hmmmmmm, I think I know how." He said with a nod to himself, looking genuinely proud of his solution before even saying it.
"Then do tell oh the wise one,"
"Back in her prime, she was a top tier masochist, Hashirama always started beating her senseless with his woods when she was in a bad moo–"
"What in the fuck Kurama!" I interrupted and glared at Kurama for telling me something I absolutely have no interest of knowing.
"What?" Kurama looked at me in confusion.
"So basically, you were watching porn! Spare my ears from that nonsense!"
"What's a porn?" Kurama tilted his head.
"Oh my gosh!" I put both my hands on my face as the picture of Kurama gooning to Hashirama and Mito going at it came to my mind which made me disgusted beyond belief.
"What? Why are you making that face?" Kurama asked with irritation.
'Can Kurama even reproduce or even have a dick though?' I thought.
I deadpanned at him and shook my head to remove that disgusting picture I was thinking about.
I looked at my body and claw-like hands for a second before willing the change. The armor dissolved, the claws retracted, and I was back in my human form, smaller and softer.
*Step step step.*
I got closer to her until I was right in front of her. She was just looking at the front where my chest was because of the difference in height, not paying attention to me and Kurama whatsoever. Her eyes were glassy, unfocused, and lost somewhere far away.
I slowly spread my arms and hugged her frail-looking figure, patting her back gently. "Come on, woman. I don't want to see my grandma-in-law to be this sad even though you disgust me to no end. So, don't make me and the big guy over there look like the villains. We are as pure as babies!" I said calmly.
We stayed like that for a few moments while I side glanced at Kurama, who was making disgusted faces like he had just eaten something sour. His nose was wrinkled, his lips curled, and he was looking away like we were offending his very existence.
'Bro, a gooner doesn't have the right to make that face.' I thought internally.
"Do you know that ever since I was a child, everything was set in stone and was decided for me?" I heard Mito suddenly talk with her face buried in my soft pillowy muscles, which I strangely could still manipulate in my spirit form. Her voice was muffled but clear enough.
I just stayed silent and let her continue.
"I was a smart child and knew that something was off. I soon knew that I was being prepared for something. I grew up studying, getting smarter, stronger and better so that I could protect myself from whatever my clan was preparing me for. But I didn't expect that they were preparing to marry me to the Senju prince Hashirama." She said with a smile and paused again while I listened, not interrupting.
"I didn't really have a problem at that time. Hashirama was handsome, goofy and strong. My younger self was actually delighted about this and quickly fell in love with him, like any stupid child at that age would." She said as she got away from my embrace and looked down at the sewer-like water underneath our feet, her reflection rippling in the dark liquid.
I looked at my tear-stained chest for a moment and focused back on her in silence.
Her smile then disappeared from her face, and her cold look came back. "But things weren't as simple as I thought. I thought that I would finally have my peace and then happily ever after would come to my story with the love of my life. But weird things began to happen suddenly after building Konoha Village. Then the battle between Hashirama and Madara, then me sealing Kurama..."
She looked at Kurama, who was pretending to be asleep now, his eyes closed, his breathing even, but I knew he was listening to every word.
"Then Hashirama became 'sick,' and the news of it and him weakening spread like wildfire, which caused the First World War where Tobirama also died in it." She paused again as she looked at me with a frown, her face aging decades in seconds.
"But again, I was Hashirama's wife and I could see that he was actually fine and not 'sick' like the news said. So I asked him what was happening and why he was pretending to be sick." Her voice cracked slightly. "He didn't give me an answer for months. But I didn't give up. I asked him again and again until one day he came to me to forgive him for lying to me all this time. Then he spilled the things that I didn't want to hear... ever."
She said with tears again falling down her face, which made me uncomfortable. I shifted on my feet, not knowing what to do with my hands.
"Guess what?! Everything was planned from the start. Everything was known before they even began. Before I was even born, my whole life was prophesied by that animal. The reason I, Senju, Uchiha and Uzumaki exist is only for us to continue the script that was written by that Toad so that the prophesied yellow-haired ONE will be born into this world and save it!!" She said with gritted teeth while slowly breaking down, her body shaking with each word.
*BOOOM ROOAAARRRRRRR!!*
"SO YOU ENSLAVED, IMPRISONED AND HURT ME AND MY SIBLINGS EVEN THOUGH WE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO YOU JUST BECAUSE OF A FUCKING TOAD SPOUTING BULLSHIT?! HUUH?!" I looked at Kurama becoming enraged beyond measure, his chakra pouring in waves, punching the iron gate of his prison so hard that his orange fur took on a tinge of red from his own blood, his fists leaving dents in the ancient metal.
"..."
"..."
*BAM BAM BAM BOOM!!*
"ANSWER ME, YOU FUCKING DEVIL–!!" Kurama shouted with unbridled fury, but more chains restrained him, piercing his body, wrapping around his limbs, forcing him to be quiet while I just stood in my place with arms crossed and shadows hiding my eyes.
"Haha." Mito laughed, a hollow empty sound. "Everything is an illusion and a lie. My childhood, my love life, my friends, my parents, my clan and the world... there is no point no matter what. Our fate and destiny is already written and can't be changed, for there will be consequences." She said, and I clenched my fists in annoyance, my nails digging into my palms.
"Hashirama told me about everything and how our clans exist just so that the reincarnations of the Sage of Six Paths could get into this world. Why I was born. Why I married him. How Tobirama died for the sake of the prophesied one. Why Hiruzen is the Hokage. Why the Toad didn't inform about these things to the Uchiha so that they will get annihilated too eventually. Why Hashirama had to die by committing suicide in front of me... Why my little Tsunade has to suffer from loneliness. Hicc." She said with a wide sad grin, tears and snot filling her now disheveled face. Her hair was a mess, her kimono wrinkled, and she looked nothing like the composed woman who had walked into this room.
I looked at her in silence, not knowing what to say. This was just too messed up even for me. The entire world was a puppet show, and everyone was just playing their parts while some toad in a mountain pulled the strings.
"You think that I don't know about my clan and family getting killed in the future? But even if I knew, I can't do anything to help, alright?! When you said you knew the future, I hoped with all my heart that you will say something different than what the Toad said but you also said the same things!" She said with that same hollow grin, and I just stayed silent, letting her words hang in the air.
"It's very simple, really!" She said with a sad smile that didn't reach her eyes.
"I am just not a part of that script. I am not supposed to help my clan or the Senjus because that will break and change the path of destiny to an unknown way. All the blood and sacrifices of the past generations in thousands of years so that the yellow-haired one can be born will go to waste if I did."
"The flow of fate and destiny must stay as it should be, or else everything will just break apart. Hashirama told me these secrets because he was feeling sorry for lying to me this whole time and to make sure nothing changes. Which tells me that he wasn't sorry at all, but wanted me to make sure the script doesn't diverge!" She said with a tired expression, and I just nodded at her, understanding the weight of what she was carrying.
"You are probably asking now why I am telling you all this! Why I didn't kill you the moment something as absurd as you emerged from nowhere, right?" She said, and I got curious, leaning forward slightly.
"That's because you..." She paused and pointed at me, her finger trembling.
"You were never mentioned in the story that I heard. You are an anomaly that shouldn't have existed."
My eyes widened slightly. 'So I wasn't in the future that old Toad saw, it seems.' I thought seriously with a hand on my chin, my mind racing through the implications.
"Your parents should've been dead and sacrificed themselves for Tobirama's team and die with Tobirama that day when the Kinkaku brothers were chasing them. But they never did." Her voice was soft now.
I got surprised again by this information. This world was getting more and more different than the show I watched. 'My birth did cause some huge butterfly effects without me realising it.' I thought seriously.
"And it was at that moment I felt that... the flow is changing!" She said with a small smile while looking at me, something like hope flickering in her tired eyes.
"Only an anomaly like you can break this cycle of sacrifice and nonsense!"
The End.
