Chapter 4 - Keeping Her Safe

Hela looked back at her child and still could not hide her joy at having a daughter. She gave as a birth gift to her daughter just outside the temple, a pendant with Fenris' symbol engraved into it and the space created covered blue jasper that glowed like the moon.

She cut a strand of her raven hair and that of her companion and sealed it in the pendant.

"Now we shall always be together, no matter where you are in this world, my child. No one can hurt you and no one will ever hurt you, my daughter, Valia  Sigrún Odinshir.

Valhalla's first and only avenging angel."

He conscience bellowed hard from beneath her pool of joy and happiness.

'You will need to reach Heimdal in order to save our little angel... which we know she will never be-she is you daughter of course.

Heimdal was the all-seeing God. Nothing in the universe escaped his watch and all whispers in the dark could be heard as long as he chose to concentrate. Heimdal was the keeper of the Bifrost , the gateway to the known realms and beyond.

Hela pulled herself together and got unto her companion, gently placing Valia infront of her. She then rode off right back to Odin's Palace, the home of all Asgardian royalty which she had taken over a long time ago.

Not wanting to attract attention, she entered the Palace through a secret passage found in the centre of the Asgardian village which spread all across the plains surrounding the Palace. The streets were empty, all the villagers had escaped from their homes at the start of the war for power and the wrath of the goddess of death.

It wasn't long till she got hough the maze of tunnels and into the throne room on her faithful companion. Hela got off him and went straight into her mother's  room, Freya,  the Queen of Asgard.

Her mother's room was soft and pleasant, with high drapes of the softest peach colour and a balcony which loomed over a garden of primroses and forget-me-nots from Midgard.

( A/N: With all those familiar with the Scandinavian myths and legends. You will know midgard is Earth and there are six to seven other realms excluding the first two depending on which version of the legends you know.)

She wasn't like her mother, bold and commanding yet sweet and delicate all at once. No, she never was and she never would be but something deep inside her told her differently. That she could be like that for her daughter, all she had to do was leave all this and let go.
