Chapter 4567: The Spatial Divine Mountain
In truth, it was only because of Lin Mohan that Lin Moyu was willing to offer a few more words he did not want Lin Mohan's legacy to be distorted or sullied.
Unfortunately, You Kui was not appreciative. Though she claimed she wanted guidance, her expression and tone were tinged with skepticism and disdain.
After all, she was at the Perfection stage, and he was only in the Great Completion of the Chaos Realm. In a world where strength is paramount, even a small difference in realm marked a big gap in status.
Even his status as Grand Elder of the Central Domain Divine Alliance held little sway here.
Lin Moyu lost all interest. After finishing his advice, he brought his fingers together and lightly slashed the air.
A sharp sword shadow appeared in the void, cleaving into the earth exactly the "Heaven Cleaving Sword" that You Kui had just used.
Lin Moyu's Heaven Cleaving Sword was not powerful, far weaker than You Kui's, but the sword intent revealed moved her to her core.
His sword fell upon the ground, and though the surface seemed unchanged at first, after several breaths a thin crack appeared, endlessly stretching downward and forward, forming a slender, deep sword mark with no visible end.
Not only that, a crack opened in the sky as well, as if the entire heavens had been split in two.
You Kui stood in shock, recalling her own Heaven Cleaving Sword. Though its destructive power was immense, in pure sword intent she lost to Lin Moyu.
It was as if Lin Moyu's sword was the real thing, and she merely wielded a copy.
That difference was all in the sword intent.
Lin Moyu's sword intent was several times more refined than hers, and yet he claimed he did not understand the sword.
If he did not understand the sword, what did that make her?
"Friend Lin…" You Kui suddenly awakened from her daze, only to find Lin Moyu had vanished.
She searched all around, but there was no sign of him, as if he had never appeared.
Helpless, she turned Lin Moyu's words over in her mind: use nothing external, seek only the self.
"Could it be… that our method truly is wrong?"
With a sigh, You Kui turned and left, by coincidence heading in the same direction as Lin Moyu.
To Lin Moyu, You Kui's episode was a mere interlude he forgot about it once it was over.
A month later, Xiao Peng reached their destination.
Far off, Lin Moyu saw a great mountain.
This mountain floated in the void, twisting and distorting in midair, at times high, at times low.
Powerful spatial fluctuations spread from within; the many spatial ripples encountered on the way all originated from this mountain.
Chaos Child said, "That's the Spatial Divine Mountain, the World Shading Beast's true body."
Above the Spatial Divine Mountain, Lin Moyu spotted the grand array set by Calamity Supreme and was preparing to approach, when a warning surged from his soul: danger ahead.
At the same time, Little Tree called out, "Wait! There's something wrong with the space in front."
No sooner had he spoken than a hum vibrated the air the Spatial Divine Mountain trembled and unleashed a massive spatial ripple. In an instant, the space ahead underwent a dramatic change.
Countless auras appeared, soul flames dancing wildly before their eyes.
The territory surrounding the Spatial Divine Mountain, millions of miles across, suddenly burst forth with people and creatures.
Lower Domain giant beasts, as well as cultivators, erupted into battle.
The number of giant beasts, seemingly without end, attacked the human cultivators fiercely. The human cultivators formed ranks, rebuffing the assault.
The giant beasts' attacks were relentless and overwhelming; with their sheer numbers, the defenders had great difficulty holding them back.
Many of the beasts were at peak Perfection just a step below True Supremes and Quasi Supremes.
The strongest among the human side were but ordinary Perfection cultivators, defending with superior talent and skill, but the situation looked grim.
Lin Moyu observed the great war, but did not interfere.
He saw that despite the pressure, the defenders' strength was more than enough to hold on for the time being.
But the giant beasts each one attacking in berserk madness drew his attention.
"Their eyes…"
Lin Moyu realized these beasts' eyes glowed blue, yet otherwise were almost lifeless.
It hit him: these monsters were not merely crazed, but were being influenced by something else. That "something" was, of course, the thing that came from the Primal Wilderness.
The Lower Domain was full of the World Shading Beast's lingering impurities. These mindless beasts were also full of that dross.
The impurities were dregs, resentment, the agitated wills of many departed powerhouses.
It was these messy wills that made the Lower Domain's beasts first to be affected: warlike, bloodthirsty, stripped of their calm. Now, inexplicably, they had gathered to storm the Spatial Divine Mountain this wave already vast, the next still to come, with no end in sight.
Xiao Peng murmured, "But why are these people from the Lower Domain getting more excited the more they fight?"
Facing so many monsters, they should be under crushing pressure, yet the cultivators' eyes gleamed with excitement. That was not simple battle lust; something else was at work.
Watching for a while, Lin Moyu chuckled, realizing: "These people are using the beasts for practice…"
Exactly right the Lower Domain's Perfection powerhouses were using the tide of beasts to hone themselves.
These people were born to fight, and through battle grew stronger, breaking through in the midst of blood and death.
Every great battle was an opportunity for them.
Boom!
The Spatial Divine Mountain trembled again, unleashing another massive spatial ripple.
The world shifted Lin Moyu discovered that his surroundings had changed and that he'd entered another space entirely.
The Lower Domain ground vanished, the heavens became void he now stood within chaotic emptiness.
The battle still raged, and on a much grander scale.
Far more giant beasts appeared, many wars broke out on every side far more than the one he first saw. The Spatial Divine Mountain was not nearly as small as he'd thought at first, either.
The black red earth had not vanished, but could be seen far off; each region was its own independent space.
Only now did Lin Moyu realize that this was the true Lower Domain.
What he'd witnessed before was only an independent space created by ripples from the Spatial Divine Mountain real, but only a part.
As he drew near the mountain, the ripples grew more frequent, and at last he experienced the genuine Lower Domain.
From the scale of these battles, the fighting here was no less than that among the other Domains.
At minimum, there were a thousand battlefields, each separate and independent.
Tens of millions of Lower Domain cultivators fought, with over 100,000 at the Perfection stage alone.
Thanks to the Hidden Spirit Pearl, no one noticed Lin Moyu's presence.
"What's within the Spatial Divine Mountain?" he wondered aloud.
He could vaguely sense something within the mountain. Checking his perception, he realized the grand array was inside the Spatial Divine Mountain.
Without a sound, he approached and asked Little Tree, "Any way inside?"
Little Tree was uncertain but pondered. "Something about the Spatial Divine Mountain isn't right. I'll try."
He didn't sound confident, but decided to give it a try.
Lin Moyu let Little Tree work undisturbed. After half a day, Little Tree suddenly acted, quickly erecting a spacetime tunnel: "Master, hurry up!"
