Chapter 4566: Lin Mohan's Inheritance
The gigantic creatures, each drop of their blood surging like a great river. The Hidden Spirit Pearl grants invisibility, not nonexistence blood can still touch it. The moment blood touches, however, the Pearl makes both disappear. With careful observation, one might even discover the Hidden Spirit Pearl.
The Hidden Spirit Pearl is not absolutely flawless, but there are ways to plug this gap. For instance, now Little Tree used spacetime power to move Lin Moyu and Xiao Peng into another layer of space. This way, the rivers of blood would pass right through them as if they did not exist.
Countless streams of blood, like a thousand milky way waterfalls, cascaded through the heavens and earth. When the blood fell to the ground, it was instantly absorbed and vanished. The smell of blood was even thicker in this space, so pungent as to be nauseating.
Very soon Lin Moyu saw the two warring sides: a group of gigantic, grotesque Lower Domain creatures fighting a human female cultivator from the Lower Domain. The human woman possessed a perfected cultivation level, displaying battle power far above that of ordinary Perfection, almost equal to peak experts.
The might of the Lower Domain's living beings was fully evident here. Facing the siege of several giant beasts, she did not retreat; her sword slashed through the void, unleashing countless sword qi, carving deep wounds on the beasts. Each wound hundreds of meters deep huge, but on beasts several hundred thousand meters tall, but superficial.
Blood spurted from the wounds. Her sword contained a special force, halting the healing. Lin Moyu watched for a bit, at first intending to leave, for this level of battle was merely worth a look to him.
"One Sword to Cleave the Heavens!"
A fierce shout rang. A terrifying illusionary sword appeared in the sky, as if to split heaven and earth. Before the real sword even fell, the land cracked open, and the sword qi shattered the giant beasts besieging her.
"This move is related to my elder sister, or is the Lower Domain's inheritance itself linked to her?"
That sword technique was clearly Lin Mohan's, and yet far more authentic than the sword previously shown by the Wine Elder it felt like a true transmission from Lin Mohan.
The Wine Elder's sword seemed strong, but that was only because the elder himself was strong. Certainly, the Wine Elder understood some true meaning of the sword, but compared to this woman, he fell short.
It was as if the elder had learned by imitation, and this Lower Domain woman possessed the complete inheritance.
If Lin Mohan once left her legacy in the Lower Domain, it would not be impossible.
Originally intending to leave, Lin Moyu now felt some interest.
The beasts shattered, their corpses raining from the sky. Blood turned into a downpour and the woman bathed in blood, radiating a blood glow; all the blood that touched her was absorbed and refined. At the same time, red vapor drifted from her body, drawn from the blood as impurities; only the essence was absorbed.
So much blood upon the land, that she could not absorb it all it pooled into a sea.
She tossed her sword straight into the blood sea, "Refine!"
At her shout, the blood sea boiled, rolling and surging as her sword drew in the blood.
Her soul force poured into the sword, resonating with it, and for a moment the blood rushed skyward, shrouding the world.
Within the boundless blood, a bloody divine sword took form, humming and shivering, growing sharper by the second.
"She's refining the sword with blood fast, but an outside method. Looks like Big Sis's inheritance is incomplete."
He knew well what Lin Mohan was like. By her nature, Lin Mohan would never approve of using outside abilities like him, she sought only her own power.
Especially since Lin Mohan's Dao was the sword, her pursuit was ultimate purity; if she saw this, she'd surely slay the girl on the spot to keep her sword's path untainted.
Lin Moyu didn't interfere; this wasn't the first time, and the woman was practiced at refining her blood sword. Intervening now would mean little.
He thought back to what the old green cloaked man once said: soon there would be no one left to protect you. At the time, he wondered when had anyone ever protected him?
But later realized, he'd always been protected: first by the system, then by Lin Mohan.
Even if Lin Mohan seldom intervened, at any crucial moment she would appear; it always seemed a coincidence, but never truly was.
Now, knowing Lin Mohan's true identity, he could be certain their sibling bond was not accidental, but inevitable. But what mattered was their bond as siblings before, now, and always.
The woman finally finished refining the blood sea; the sword intent grew subdued, all the essence drained, only dregs left behind.
She sheathed her sword to depart, when Lin Moyu's voice suddenly sounded: "Your method is wrong!"
"Who?!" she shouted, head snapping around, great soul force stirring the void and sending blood rising from the earth.
Yet after searching, she found no one.
Again, the voice: "No need to panic, I mean you no harm." Lin Moyu released the Hidden Spirit Pearl and revealed himself.
He stood nearby, just a thousand meters away, nearly face to face.
She pointed her sword at him. "Are you from the Central Domain?"
"I am Lin Moyu, Grand Elder of the Central Domain Divine Alliance. Greetings."
You don't strike a friendly face, so Lin Moyu remained courteous; she could not well take offense, and his identity commanded respect.
She glanced at his badge and confirmed he was honest. With a return gesture, she answered, "I'm You Kui from the Lower Domain. Greetings."
Lin Moyu said, "I did not mean to pry, You Kui, but your method of refining sword intent has problems."
You Kui frowned, "You know the sword?"
Lin Moyu shook his head, "No, I do not."
She stared. "If you don't, why say I'm wrong?"
Lin Moyu said, "Though I don't know the sword, I know the Great Sword Sovereign well."
She scoffed, "You a mere late Chaos Realm how did you become a grand elder, and you claim to know the Great Sword Sovereign? That's laughable!"
Lin Moyu just smiled. "I speak only the truth believe as you like. I wager your inheritance was incomplete, and the method for refining sword intent you devised yourselves it wasn't part of the legacy."
You Kui's brow furrowed tighter; he'd hit the mark.
Seeing her expression, Lin Moyu knew he'd guessed right. "I have some connection to the Great Sword Sovereign, so I wanted to offer a word. If you'd rather not hear it, I'll take my leave."
As he turned to go, You Kui instinctively called out, "Wait, Elder Lin, please advise me."
Whether right or wrong, she would lose nothing she wanted to hear him out.
Lin Moyu paused. "One thing about the Great Sword Sovereign: she used no external force, sought nothing but her true self, in all things."
