Much to the man's dismay, Vance led Alix out of the Martial Uni all the way to Inengway's class. Winston's class was located in a none color coded building. Vance explained that this was due to the personal nature of the class.
"You seem to mistake this place a simply somewhere students come to learn. Most of the professor's here are also learning or researching something. Looking for their next big breakthrough while raising the next generation at the same time. A wonderful opportunity, is it not?"
Alix sense sarcasm in Vance's last statement.
"Not as great as you thought it'd be?" Vance turned with an exaggerated smile.
"Oh it's wonderful! In fact, normally I would be busy training but instead I'm spending that precious time leading a very pushy girl to her class! Truly a wonderful life!" Alix frowned.
"It seems that someone has cause you annoyance recently. May I inquire who?" Mo laughed at Alix's innocent act. Vance was nowhere near as impressed and simply intensified his smile.
"What makes you think that I'm annoyed. Don't you see the smile? I'm ecstatic~"
"Then can I change paths?"
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves." Alix clicked her teeth.
'Guess that wasn't enough."
'I can't believe yer pickin' on this man just try to get him to change yer path?" Mo spoke still laughing at the situation.
'You can't believe it?" Alix smirked to Mo triggering another wave a laughter.
"Yer right, that's exactly like something you'd do!" After another minute of Alix trying to annoy the principle of the Martial Uni they arrived at their destination.
As had been explained by Vance it was a rather small building with no color, though it did have some signs with scribbles of...something on them displayed on both sides of the door. Vance turned on his heels and bowed to Alix.
"Here we are at Inengway's class. This entire building is dedicated to him so no further direction should be required." Alix nodded slightly disappointed that she hadn't managed to convince Vance to change her course.
'Oh well...' Alix shrugged. 'There will be more opportunities in the future.' She smiled sinisterly in anticipation of her future plans. By the time, Vance stood straight again the smile was gone.
"You made a wonderful concierge, Sir Warren. I shall recommend you to more students." Vance dropped his smile and glared at the girl.
"Please don't do that." Alix waved the man off and walked into the building. Vance stood outside of the building for a moment a bit worried.
"She isn't actually gonna tell people to use me as a concierge is she? No." He reassured himself. "That would be ridiculous." Vance stood pondering for a bit longer before leaving. He couldn't help be feel a tinge of fear at the thought that Alix may be speaking truthfully.
While Vance thinks himself into a hole, the cause of those fears was currently meeting up with her old professor. Alix entered the building and saw that it was actually just one large room.
Seemed that Winston had been given a lecture hall to teach his class. She looked at to the front of the room and saw the man in question frantically moving books and notes around. The man was so focused that he hadn't noticed that Alix came in.
"Winston?" Alix called out to the man which caused him to jump.
"Alix? What are you doing here so early, I haven't finished setting everything up yet? Or did I lose track of time getting ready? One second." Winston quickly glanced at the watch on his wrist when he remembered that he had left it at the inn this morning.
He then turned his head to the clock that was hanging high on the wall and saw that it was...
"It's 3:30!! You're actually late but so am I! How did the time pass so fast? Did you get held up or is this room some sort of time dilation chamber? IS IT ALIX?!" Winston began breathing erratically.
Alix shook her head. She expected the man to be calmly sitting in here like he had been in his office back in Nogreni. Guess he let the mask slip this time.
"Calm down, Winston. That clock is around four hours too fast, it is only 11:30 you have plenty of time." Winston stared at the girl in a daze. He looked back at the clock a few times while calming himself down.
"Oh, yeah? Yeah, that makes sense. I just got that from Instructor Carter, so it may not be adjusted yet. Actually, if it's that early why are you here?" Alix placed her stuff down, including Mo, in the front row and walked over to the the professor.
"I finished the assignment early so I decided to come by. Were you the one that made this a mandatory class for me." Winston went back to organizing his things but still answered Alix.
"Um, yes. I believed that due to your circumstances this class would still be important to you. It also give me he perfect chance to do research on the forest and ocean monsters." Alix nodded.
"I was thinking the same myself."
"You're also interested in the differences between monsters raised in the sea and those raised within a rainy habitat?"
"What? No, I-I was talking about needing your class."
"Oh." Winston picked up a stack of books and ran to the side of the room and started placing them on a large bookshelf. Alix shook her head. Even miles away from his old office Winston was still struggling to keep everything organized.
"I may as well help you out. Come on, Mo." The fish scowled at the girl.
"Why do I have to help? I barely even like this dude!"
"Are you going against a direct order from your captain?" Alix glared at the fish. He floated in the water ignoring her eyes for only a few seconds before caving to the pressure.
"No ma'am, captain. I'll help the freak stack his books. But I won't enjoy it." Mo lifted himself out of his bowl and swam over to the desk. Winston finished stacking his books when he saw Mo floating over his desk grabbing books with water.
You can guess his reaction.
"By the gods! Mo's trying to lessen my workload! Does this mean that monsters can experience feelings of empathy? Maybe he simply saw the clutter and wanted to fix it himself? Either way this implies higher emotional intelligence than any beast category monster to exist. It may have even reached levels akin to that of a Cryptid category monster!"
Winston rushed over to Mo and began to examine the water that was lifting the books. "And this thing. You called it the Abyssal Sea, correct? I wonder if this water is from somewhere in the ocean or if the fish simply forms it using the natural mana in the air? He may even store it within his mana organ? If I could only dissect you!" Mo froze his movements and slowly met the wild eyes of Winston.
"Lexi, get this freak away from me!"
