Chapter One Hundred Sixty-Five:
Merwa Mountain
I asked him directly but he suddenly looks at me from head to toe for a while before he deeply sighed.
"You're still a maiden." He answered before turning his gaze to Haimon. "And you still can't decide right, Haimon?"
"What do you mean?" Haimon asked.
"You never know what danger will happen if Ms. Shu Tokino remains a virgin." He answered. "Because being a maiden means a lot to the God of the underworld, Haimon," he seriously added.
I don't get what he was saying, I just look at him and it seems he notice it.
Ansel smiles at me before he answered. "Haimon need to consummate your marriage. And I will give you three nights until we venture to the underworld. Maiden or not maiden you will need to come with me, before more innocent lives die prematurely."
…
"Why did you say what you said earlier to Shu Tokino and Haimon?" Rishna curiously asked after Ansel let those two talks in private.
"Because that is the truth," he answered. "By the time Shu Tokino's soul stepped in into the underworld, if the God of Hell himself knows she's still a Maiden. Then, she may not be able to return to the world of the living and the God of Hell will take her earthly body to make her a Demi-God. That no matter what Haimon does, he can't do anything because the God of Hell moves faster than him, especially when we enter his territory."
…
Outside the Cave
Haimon and I quietly sat under the tree and without a sound we both said nothing to break that silent. What is the right thing to say in this situation? Because if I will ask myself, I have long waited to be Haimon's real wife, not only on paper and in the eyes of those people that knows about us but to give what is due as his wife.
But what I did not expect was we need to do it in this kind of situation. I feel like this is not the right time for that matter because I know how serious things are going on outside the mountains. So, the consummate of our marriage is not appropriate in this situation and I wish Haimon feels and think the same.
"What ar––"
We both asked at the same time that made us both stopped speaking.
"You go ahead!" once again we both speak up at the same time but then Haimon immediately said.
"No!" he said. "You go first. What's on your mind right now?" he seriously asked that took me for a while before I answered.
"I don't think it is the right to do, now that chaos begins." I honestly replied.
"I know what you were saying." He answered. "But thinking of the situation when you were about to go to the underworld… I couldn't help but worry. I don't understand but what Ansel told us, I know he was telling the whole truth."
I could feel his excessive concern and fear of what might happen to me the moment I stepped in into the underworld while I remained a virgin. That I'm also afraid to think what will happen to me if I let myself stay virgin. But what else can I do, I really do feel that this isn't the right time, not the right moment.
"You're too worried about what might happen while you are given a long day to make the right decision." Suddenly someone came and spoke to us.
"Sai!" Haimon immediately answered. "What are you doing here?"
"I came here to tell you that Rishna is looking for the both of you, she has something to tell." She said before leaving us alone.
"She's kind of weird." I commented.
Haimon laughed. "Yeah, she is." He answered. "Anyway, let's go and meet Rishna." He said that I silently nodded.
…
"Where are we?" I asked after we talked to Rishna and right now, we are at the front of an old, classic and elegant house.
The house stands right on top of Merwa Mountain and the whole area of Celeste Country is conspicuous from there.
"It was the former home of the twins, Manu and Edelweiss." Rishna answered that Haimon and I surprised. "And right now, this is the only place you two can be safe. So, feel at home until the day you will venture to the underworld." She said before leading us inside the house.
The design of the whole house is simple but you can see the posh of the whole place. And the whole place was obviously well cared for even a few hundred years ago.
"This place is so maintained." I said as I look around.
"Yes, this place is protected by the Gods. That is why this whole place is well maintained." Rishna answered. "Anyway, now that you two are here. Please feel free to use this house as your new home." She said before leaving us alone.
"What can you say?" Haimon asked afterwards.
"Huh?"
"I mean, do you remember something about this place?"
"Nothing at all." I honestly answered. "But the vibes I sense in here is too good. The look of the whole place is relaxing to feel. And I really like this place." I said and smiled.
"Oh, right." he agreed as he nodded.
"Anyway…" it's embarrassing to ask, yet I still asked him. "About the thing that we're talking about before Sai came. What––"
"Stop." He suddenly cuts me off and holds my hand. "I think it's more important that we stop thinking about it and just let ourselves enjoy what we have now. Because if we really get there, it will happen naturally that we don't have to think about it anymore. Alright?"
He's right, if that really happens, we're pretty sure it will be natural and not because someone just told to do that.
"You're right, Love." I agreed as I genuinely smile. "Let us enjoy this moment and spend more time together."
