Chapter 164 - The God of Life and Death

Chapter One Hundred Sixty-Four:

Merwa Mountain

Next Day…

We received bad news after the whole sky lit up, because we found out that morning death counts in as the morning comes and that was all because of the recurrence of Kanik's memories. In just one whole night, Kanik was able to isolate all the people he knew would never follow him and also, he eliminates all the spies that placed on him.

Knowing that knowledge, Truman immediately went down the mountain only to save his one and only son Wafi. But to our surprised, death is what he faced though he was saved. Wafi is still in the depths of death. The wounds sustained by Wafi from Kanik are very severe and the only thing Rishna and Navina can do is put him in the crystal cloak where his time will stop while he is being healed by a powerful magic.

"What good do we do now?" suddenly I heard Haimon asked.

"There is nothing we can do about what Kanik is doing outside." Rishna answered. "But for now, the important thing is, he has no intention of destroying the Earth."

"But he wanted to rule the Earth." Navina madly answered and I also feel annoy about it, thinking that he will rule the Earth makes me want to do what I have to do.

"I have to save Manu's soul." I suddenly speak it out loud because that is what I truly feel and I already decided. "I will save him!" I boldly declare that surprised everyone.

"NO!" Haimon immediately answered as hold my hands. "You're not ready to do that, Shu!" he added.

"I know. But what else can we do if the only thing that can stop him is to save his soul."

"But––"

"She was right, Haimon." Navina cuts him off before turning to me. "If that's your decision, I'll bring you to the place where we can freely enter the underworld. And do not worry about your earthly body because that place is safe, there will be no harm if we left your body there."

"But before that, Navin." Suddenly Rishna speaks up. "We need to wait for 'him' because he will be our anchor."

"Who?" Haimon asked.

"The one that holds the realm of life and death," she said. "And it seems he was already here."

Everyone look at the entrance of the cave when a man came in. When we saw the man everyone was waiting for, everyone was so amazed seeing him standing at the front. His posture and the way he walks, everyone could already see that he came from a very wealthy and prominent family.

He is very elegant in his simple attire but it is inevitable not to see his superiority above all and I feel I have to give him great respect because of the status seen in him.

"Shu!" Haimon taps my shoulder as he called out my name in a whispered. "Are you alright?"

"Huh! Ahm…" I look at the front and see him with Rishna. "Wh-who is he?" I asked with confusion because I feel like I've known him somehow but I couldn't remember where and when I met him.

"I don't know too. This is my first time seeing him." Haimon honestly answered while looking at the same direction I am looking at.

I just swallowed when he suddenly turned his eyes in our direction and then he walked towards us with Rishna by his side. I can't understand what I truly feel but I seem to know this person approaching us but I can't really recall where and when I met him. I just couldn't remember!

"It's been a long time since I met you, Ms. Shu Tokino." He said when he got closer.

"Sorry… Do-do I know you?" I nervously asked him.

He smiles at me. "Yes. A very long time ago, my Lady." he answered. "I live in into two personalities, one as a Warlock and one as a God."

I don't get what he was saying. "Ha-have we met before?" I boldly asked him.

"I'm Ansel Truman a Warlock, the Guardian of Akand Village and also I am God Folkvar the portal guardian of life and death."

"You are Ansel?!" suddenly Haimon surprisingly asked him.

"Yes, Duke Haimon. Oh, sorry I forgot, Mr. Haimon."

"Do you know him, Haimon?" I curiously asked.

"Yes. Because Siara once told me about the man that became her father even though they aren't related in blood because he was the one who almost raised her since her father became the King of the Manu Clan. But as far as I know, the place where she grew up suddenly disappeared even through the maps of the world as if it never existed and it just disappeared after his father decided that Siara would stay in the palace after she was engaged to a prince that will be next in the throne." He explained with confusion.

"It is because Akand Village has never been a part of your world." Ansel answered. "Because that place is the only way for the living and the dead to cross safely and securely, so when Harkan decided to completely remove Siara out of my care, that place also completely disappeared from the eyes of the humans." He explained. "Anyways, now that I already explained myself… let's talk about what we should do." He seriously added.

"Ansel was right, Haimon, Shu." Rishna agreed. "We really need to talk about the most important thing and Ansel was the only one that can help us to get through the underworld safe and secure."

I look at him. "Then, tell me what shall I do?" I asked him directly.

"You're still a maiden." He answered before turning his gaze to Haimon. "And you still can't decide right, Haimon?"

"What do you mean?" Haimon asked.

"You never know what danger will happen if Ms. Shu Tokino remains a virgin." He answered. "Because being a maiden means a lot to the God of the underworld, Haimon," he seriously added.
