Chapter 1 - -00-

It's a particularly irritating phenomenon when one wishes for something and it's not even a bit close to coming true. Expectations, expectations are the limit that is placed on many, when you expect too much you find yourself getting too little. Allow me to introduce myself, I am Leonora Fredia, and I want to become an artist, not just any artist, I want to be a singer, or a sculptor, or maybe just regular painting. I'm not sure at the moment but I want to be an artist, it is something I wish to achieve as soon as possible.

Recently I have applied for numerous contests regarding the latter, and all of my efforts have failed. It seems as if this is not what I'm destined to do. This time I pray for better luck as I head to the building where the next contest is held. Unfortunately, the world is cruel to those it chooses, and judging by recent events I am the subject of that misfortune. I was focused, so focused it seemed I missed the giant four-wheeler that was heading straight towards me. I blacked, out it was dark, dark and cold but then hot I closed my eyes, and then suddenly opened them I saw a bright light, but the light got farther from me as if I was not worthy, I must prove my worth, somehow.

I'm regaining consciousness and I see..a white hospital ceiling and I feel..not so happy of course, being hooked up to multiple tubes and injuries everywhere in sight isn't at all ideal, and my face aches. Though it lasted quite a while, about two weeks, I finally escaped, from some of dozens of tubes and got a bit better. I want to start over, start a new life, and reach my goals this time. For I have been reborn, I am no longer Leonora Fredia, I am Leilani, Ruler of Life

I got up from the uncomfortable hospital bed and looked at my surroundings. It was rather boring if you ask me, I was currently white room with nothing but the essentials and a few medical equipment near me. I wanted to move, to go tell someone I was awake but it seemed that the snakes attached to me had other plans. I knew they were there for my health and that I needed them but I couldn't bear the thought of being tied down. Soon after that, I made my decision, I'd lie back down. It was too much of a risk to move my body for such a foolish reason. I sat in silence with no one but myself to talk to," what even happened to me..?" I was injured, but how? I don't remember anything other than walking to the contest…

"*Click*" I heard the door close. It was a nurse and she had beautiful dirty blonde hair. I couldn't tell really but it was put into a neat bun with a small strand, she had beautiful skin and noticeable freckles. there was the occasional blemish but other than that she was overall a pretty woman.

The nurse did a quick checkup on me, she asked the occasional question about how I was feeling in certain areas but other than that she said I would be fine in a few weeks then left. It was almost night I saw most of the lights go out and that's when I got up. I was going to the balcony to get some fresh air it was too stuffy in that room and I was desperate for a change in scenery.

"How beautiful.", it was beautiful, the stars I mean. I always loved them though I never did like researching them or anything. I just thought they were pretty. I stargazed a bit more before I felt drowsy and went back to the room.

"Maybe something interesting will happen.." I said to no one in particular and then closed my eyes.

And opened them again, I couldn't sleep that easily anymore. not with the fear of something happening again. I tossed and turned for a while before my sides started aching, and then I just lay on my back and looked at the ceiling it was going to be a long night.

I awoke to the sound of multiple footsteps, chatter, and the opening and closing of doors, today was almost the same I suppose but it also seemed that my wish had come true. Something has happened and judging by the rumors that spread, it was interesting. I walked into what some would call a common room but it was just an empty room where a bunch of sick people come to hang out at. as soon as I entered I scouted for an empty seat and sat there. There were a lot of people and I recognized some faces but I didn't bother to remember their names as there was no point since they see no reason to be my friend or even acquaintance in some manner.

"So did you hear!? They said Julie don' fell them stairs!" a series of gasps were heard, from me as well. It was a shock hearing that Whatever her name was anywhere outside of her room. what was she doing by the stairs anyway? She is in a wheelchair, wouldn't the elevator be better right?

"Oh lord! Is she alright?"

Someone shouted from my right, not sure who though.

"Don't tell me she fractured something.." now that was my question, she should have sustained some type of injury from that fall, but as Miss What's her name said next she only had a few bruises.

I went back to my room, whatever they were talking about now had nothing to do with me so I left. It was getting dark and I knew I wouldn't be able to get any sleep so I didn't even bother getting in the bed. It would be a tiresome few weeks I thought as I sighed, that's okay I guess, sacrifices are necessary for a bigger goal.

It's been a few hours and now I'm sure everyone has gone to bed. I for one would say that I've changed. not that lots of things have changed with me, I just have a few 'updates'. To mention some, slightly pointier ears and longer hair, orangish brown eyes, and longer, sharper nails. Well, lots of things have changed, but not drastically. I laid down,

"'Sigh'", tomorrow will be a new day, and tomorrow will be the day I depart.
