Muzanette
Muzanette reclined in her lavish throne room, a mixture of confusion and unease etched across her face. Moments ago, she had sensed the sudden resurrection of Enmu, one of the Lower Moons who was supposed to be dead. His brief revival had left a strange trace, only for him to vanish from existence again almost immediately.
Her unease deepened as a chill ran down her spine, something she hadn't felt in centuries. Her instincts, honed through thousands of years of ruling demons and avoiding death, screamed at her—danger was imminent. She couldn't pinpoint its source, but it was unlike anything she'd faced before.
Suddenly, a black, smoky ring-like structure materialized in front of her throne, twisting and expanding until it formed a portal. The air around it crackled with a suffocating pressure that silenced the demons in the room. Muzanette's crimson eyes narrowed as two figures stepped through the portal.
The first was a petite woman with porcelain skin and crimson eyes that glowed with malevolence. Her delicate features were framed by silver hair, and she carried a parasol lazily over her shoulder. Despite her small stature, her presence was overwhelming, drowning the room in an aura of death.
Behind her stood another figure—a cheerful-looking maid with orange hair, her grin unnervingly wide as if relishing the tension in the room.
"So, you are Muzanette?" the silver-haired woman asked, her voice deceptively sweet but carrying an icy edge. "Tell me where you've hidden Lord Alexander."
Muzanette's eyes flickered with confusion. Alexander. That was the man who had disturbed her rule and disappeared after eliminating Enmu. She didn't know where he was, but the two strangers seemed to think otherwise.
"Who are you to demand anything of me?" Muzanette snapped, masking her fear with defiance. Her pride as the ruler of demons refused to let her cower before anyone, no matter how intimidating.
The silver-haired woman's lips curled into a sinister smile. "Bitch, I don't have time for games."
Before Muzanette could respond, a dark blade materialized out of thin air and flew toward her, slicing across her cheek. Blood trickled down her face as she recoiled, stunned.
"That was just a warning," the woman said coldly. "If you don't tell me where my lord is, I'll flay you alive."
Muzanette's instincts screamed for her to run, but her pride wouldn't allow her to show weakness. Instead, she called upon her power, summoning a portal beneath the intruders.
Shalltear and Lupusregina fell through the portal, landing in a sprawling, dimly lit chamber—the Infinity Castle. Shadows danced along the shifting walls, and the air was thick with malice.
Muzanette's voice echoed through the chamber. "All demons! Kill these intruders!"
The walls shifted and twisted as countless demons emerged from the shadows. Their grotesque forms varied—some with multiple heads, others with elongated limbs or jagged claws dripping with venom. The air filled with growls, snarls, and bloodlust as they closed in on Shalltear and Lupusregina.
Lupusregina smirked, her cheerful demeanor returning. "Shalltear-sama, shall I take the weaker ones?"
"Do as you please," Shalltear replied, her tone indifferent.
The first wave of demons charged toward them, claws and teeth bared. Lupusregina stepped forward, her hands glowing with an ominous light. With a flick of her wrist, she unleashed a wave of fire that incinerated the front line. The demons screamed as their bodies were reduced to ash, their agonized cries echoing through the castle.
Shalltear, meanwhile, stood still, her parasol resting casually on her shoulder as the second wave rushed her. When they were mere inches away, she moved. In a blur of speed, she decapitated three demons with a single swipe of her claws. Their heads hit the ground with a sickening thud, their bodies collapsing moments later.
One particularly large demon lunged at her, its massive fists aiming to crush her. Shalltear caught its arm mid-swing, her delicate hand stopping the blow effortlessly. She smiled sweetly before tearing the arm from its socket, blood spraying in a wide arc.
The demon howled in pain, but Shalltear silenced it by driving her parasol through its chest. With a twist, she impaled the demon to the ground before stepping on its head, crushing it under her heel.
Lupusregina giggled as she watched. "Shalltear-sama, you're making a mess."
"These creatures are beneath me," Shalltear said disdainfully. "I'm just cleaning up the trash."
More demons poured into the chamber, their numbers seemingly endless. One tried to ambush Shalltear from behind, but she didn't even turn. A spike of black energy erupted from her back, impaling the demon through its heart.
"Pathetic," she muttered.
Lupusregina danced through the chaos, her claws tearing through demon flesh with precision. She seemed to enjoy the slaughter, her laughter echoing as she decapitated one demon and disemboweled another in a single motion.
The floor was soon slick with blood, and the air reeked of death. The remaining demons hesitated, fear evident in their eyes. They realized too late that they were no match for these invaders.
Shalltear stepped over a pile of corpses, her crimson eyes glowing as she gazed up at the ceiling. "Muzanette," she called out, her voice carrying a chilling authority. "Is this all you have? Sending these weaklings to fight for you while you cower in the shadows?"
There was no response.
"Very well," Shalltear said, her tone shifting to one of impatience. She raised her hand, and a sphere of black energy began to form in her palm, growing larger with each passing second. The room darkened as the energy pulsed with malevolence.
Lupusregina stepped back, watching with a grin. "Oh, Shalltear-sama, you're going all out."
"These pests have wasted enough of my time," Shalltear replied.
She unleashed the sphere, and it expanded rapidly, consuming everything in its path. The demons screamed as the energy devoured them, their bodies disintegrating into nothingness. The walls of the Infinity Castle trembled under the sheer force of the attack.
When the energy dissipated, the chamber was eerily silent. The floor was littered with ash, the only remnants of the demons that had dared to oppose them.
Shalltear turned to Lupusregina, her expression cold. "Now, let's find Muzanette. I've had enough of this game. Where is My Lord before I run out of patience."
