[3rd POV]
"Well...I guess we should find a new universe to hide out in?" Peter said, not really sure how to move on from what he had just heard. Hearing that Gwen had killed THE Mephisto was a shock, and not something he could just move on from casually.
"In that case we could just go to my universe then. It's probably the safest universe you can come to" Gwen offered, not minding the idea of showing them her city.
Normally they would have gone to a universe that was irradiated with radiation thanks to a nuclear war that had gone down thanks to the Green Goblin of that universe. It was strong enough that they would die thanks to the radiation, or at least get weakened so that the inheritors couldn't follow them.
But her city was protected by thousands of wards and barriers, and would make it effectively impossible for them to follow or invade. They would have to appear thousands of miles away from the city, and would have to get through the many many many barriers, guards, and defenses that surrounded the walls of the city.
And said defenses were constantly being upgraded thanks to Gwen's clones working on them all the time.
"And how is it the safest?" Superior asked, not being rude, but genuinely curious for once. He was finding that Gwen was actually not ignorant or arrogant, but was simply very very powerful.
"Because the city that I built - Malzif - is guarded by thousands of layers of magical barriers, as well as all sorts of other defenses. Including a literal mile high wall made of pure proto Adamantium. It would take someone far far far stronger than the inheritors to break through, someone like Galactus or even a Celestial. That's not even including the people that live in the city itself" Gwen explained, as Peter 616 looked at her wide eyed at the mention of Proto Adamantium.
Superior looked just as shocked.
"Proto Adamantium? Isn't that the most durable metal there is?" Mayday asked on the side, holding her little brother in her arms.
"It is. I was able to figure out the method for its creation after getting a good look at the Captain's shield. And when you are as powerful as I am, it doesn't take much to figure out a method to mass produce it" Gwen responded.
"Who lives in the city that makes it so defended?" One of the Spidermen asked.
"Mutants. Billions upon billions of mutants from around the multiverse. When I said that I have been traveling the multiverse, I wasn't lying. I've been recruiting and saving mutants from around the multiverse for around a year now. And I've recruited a lot of very powerful mutants. A number of them are willing to defend the city, just as they have been willing to travel the multiverse to save other mutants" Gwen said, as their eyes widened.
"You have a city of mutants?"
"Mmhmm, it's on Mars. I've got a council built up of mutants from around the multiverse and everything. Trust me, the inheritors won't even be able to touch the city, not with the defenders being there" Gwen explained, as Peter 616 couldn't help but ask the question that was on everyone's minds.
"What sort of mutants are defending this city?" Peter asked, wondering who could live there for her to be so confident.
"Dozens of Omega Level mutants, including a few variants of Jean Grey. Rachel Summers, a few Apocalypse variants, dozens of Magneto variants, Franklin Richards of another world, Nate Grey, and a few dozen more" Gwen responded.
Peter's jaw dropped to the floor as he heard the names, with some of the other Spider folk that knew of those individuals also looking at her in shock.
"So, you believe me now when I say that the inheritors can't touch us when we're in there?" Gwen asked with an amused smile on her face, as they all nodded, understanding now why she was so certain.
Jean alone could wipe out the entire family with ease, and she had 19 of them living in her city. Not all of them were as powerful as her Jean, and not all of them had the Phoenix Force (or a fragment of it), but they were all still more powerful than an Inheritor. And there were still all the others there, like Magneto, Storm, Iceman, Rogue, and hundreds of others.
"...Yeah, let's go to your city" Peter 616 said, nodding in agreement. A city like that was their best bet at staying safe until they could go and stop the Inheritors. As even he knew that the Phoenix Force was stronger than Captain Universe, meaning their safety would be all but guaranteed in a world like hers.
"Great! Follow me" Gwen said, as she snapped her finger, a portal appeared in front of her, created through her power as they all looked at it. It was a web-like portal with glowing golden "Webs" and was quite a bit different than the portals they used.
Seeing Gwen walk through it, everyone else looked at it, before one by one they began to enter, with the last to come through being Peter 616. And as he walked through, he had one thought on his mind.
'Let's hope this goes well'

On the other end of the portal, the group was almost immediately greeted with the incredible sight of Malzif, its giant size being shown off in all its splendor as they stood within Gwen's personal floating island. Looking down at the massive city, seeing people flying around to and from work, flying cars traveling around, and all sorts of mutants moving about.
"Wow this is incredible" Peter 616 said, looking down at the city.
"Thanks, it took a lot of work to make it happen" Gwen said with a smile, as she motioned for them to follow her. They were being led to the personal dorms on her island, specially made for unique visitors from other universes, like the "Web Warriors" as Gwen had dubbed them.
"So, these are your dorms. They're adaptable for each of you. So if you want anything changed to your own comfort, just imagine it and the room will change to your will. The pantry's are stocked with all the food you could want, and also include some magical plants that can be used to get healed up. There's also a lab on the second floor that you're welcome to use if you wish to upgrade any of your tech. I've taken the liberty of supplying it with some Vibranium, so use it as you wish. But I won't be handing out Proto Adamantium, which I'm sure you can understand why" Gwen said, as they all listened and nodded.
The hardcore scientists and engineers in the group looked like they were going to faint when they heard about the lab and the Vibranium, as it was one of the hardest metals to get your hands on, and she was just casually supplying it for them.
"Well, go ahead and get settled!" Gwen said, as they all began to scatter to explore, while Peter 616 walked up to Gwen.
"Hey, how can we get into contact with the others still in different universes? The comms are being blocked" Peter 616 asked, as Gwen tossed him a small phone like device.
"Use that. It'll allow you to hone in on any spider totem in the multiverse using their unique frequency. I've already locked in the ones you wish to speak with" Gwen said, as this was the same device she had been giving to her recruiters to find other Spider Totems that were now living in her cities, the mutant ones.
"Wow, thanks" Peter 616 said surprised that she already had one made, before running off to get into contact with Silk who was currently on the irradiated world that they would have originally traveled to.
Watching as all the Web Warriors walked off to explore their new momentary base, Gwen smiled, as she walked off as well, one thought on her mind as she began to prepare, and that was...

That's the end of the chapter!
Next chapter will have some action, some new AU events going down, and will likely be the end of the Inheritor arc. If not next chapter, it'll be the one after. After the Inheritor Arc is going to be the next big arc.
I plan for 3-4 more arcs after the next one. Meaning this fic will likely be ending within 40 chapters or so.
