"Another one of those machines," Saeko remarked as she narrowed her eyes. She held Slasher in her hand.
"They only seem to show up in spots like this," Lois added as she strolled toward it. She looked around and saw thick smoke.
"The drink's going to taste awful," Rei muttered as remembered the last few.
"No argument here," Saya replied dryly. She looked at the machine, then at Humungousaur. "So, James, any clue what this one does?" she asked.
"I still haven't figured out what the blue one's for," Rei admitted.
"We'll find out soon enough," Lois said as she pressed the button. A blue bottle clattered into the tray. Without hesitation, she cracked it open and drank it all.
"You didn't even check what it was?" Rei asked.
"Wasn't it disgusting?" Jasmine followed up. She thought all of them were really bad.
"Horrible," Lois confirmed without flinching as she threw the bottle.
Saeko stepped forward and pressed the button. Another blue bottle slid out. She downed it in one go and tossed the bottle aside. "Danna-sama got it out for us. This machine must have its purpose," she said firmly. She turned to Rei and Saya, a playful glint in her eye. "Unless… you two are doubting Danna-sama's judgment?" she teased.
Rei shot her a look. "Of course not," she replied.
"I trust him," Saya added. Both marched up, grabbed bottles, and drank.
"This is the worst," they declared in unison, grimacing.
Lois chuckled. "Cheeky," she said, grinning at Saeko, who returned the smile.
Jasmine approached, retrieved her bottle, and took a swig. She paused, then scowled. "Still horrible," she said with a shudder.
Humungousaur took one bottle and drank it down. "Gross," he muttered. "Well this is called Who`s Who`s. It is similar to Quick Revive where if you go down you become a doppelganger and you can go to your body and get yourself up," he explained.
"What does that mean?" Rei asked.
"Doppelganger as in ghost?" Saya asked.
"Well, we should not have been near that situation," Humungousaur responded.
"It is like a last resort," Saeko said as she looked around.
"Exactly," Humungousaur responded. "I will keep this machine near us so we can go back and give it to everyone," he added.
Humungousaur looked up. He saw two orbs in the Dragon's mouth. "We need to shoot that," Humungousaur remarked.
"They are pretty far," Rei remarked. She squinted and saw the orbs.
"I can use my lasso," Jasmine suggested as she held her golden robe out.
Saya looked at the silver orbs in the distance. "I can hit them," Saya responded. She aimed her Ray Gun Mark II and pressed the trigger. She fired two shots of red waves. They travelled through the air and hit the orbs in the Dragon's Mouth.
"Nice shot," Jasmine remarked as she looked at the orbs getting hit. They disappeared, she thought it was magic.
"Bullseye," Lois added. She had a smile on her face.
"Good shot," Humungousaur said. He thought they needed a sniper rifle however that did the job.
"It was nothing," Saya responded as she had a smile on her face.
"Danna-sama will reward you," Saeko teased as she walked past her and pushed Saya towards Humungousaur.
"I," Saya said with a blush as she reigned her footing.
They all chuckled.
"Let's go downstairs," Humungousaur directed. They all nodded and headed down.
A zombie was coming up the stairs. Humungousaur swung his fist and punched the zombie. The zombie got hit in the head and went flying back. He hit the wall and shattered his spine. The zombie was killed upon impact.
"He went flying," Rei remarked as she saw his splattered remains on the wall.
They continued down and right in front of them was a large, narrow, wooden box with a colored beam emitting towards the sky.There were two glowing question marks imprinted on the lid of the box, side by side and with the right one being vertically reversed.
"That box is back here again," Lois said. She thought this was the third time seeing it.
"It is just like gambling," Saya remarked as she walked forward.
"You are upset you did not get it first," Saeko said.
"No I am not," Saya shot back. She was a little red.
"Who's turn is it now?" Rei asked as she thought back to the order.
"My turn," Jasmine responded as she walked forward. She saw the box in front of her.
"Go for it," Humungousaur said. He had a smile on his face.
Jasmine approached the box and pulled the latch open. She opened the lid of the box with her hand.
Humungousaur again thought that was strange, the box did not glow and the weapon appearing and randomly cycling through did not happen again. Jasmine reached into the box and pulled out two knives.
"Ballistic Knives," Humungousaur remarked.
"They look like standard knives," Rei said as she looked at them.
"They are for now," Humungousaur responded as he looked at the knives.
"If I remember right, you can launch them as well," Saya said as she put her finger on her chin.
"You can," Saeko agreed. She eyed the weapon.
Jasmine touched the box. She tapped the bottom of the box. "There is nothing else here," she said as she went up and down the bottom of the box.
"This only gives you one thing," Lois said.
"Oh well," Humungousaur said. Humungousaur thought this mystery box was a scam sometimes.
"Are we going to need that for the quest?" Saya asked. She thought the last thing they got from this box was valuable.
"Indeed, we are going to need it but not like this," Humungousaur responded. At that moment, a lift door opened. They saw a blue machine with three large gears exposed in the center. The shape of the machine was like an open mouth. There was a sign above which showed the Ray Gun with a limp barrel and another Ray Gun which looked like it was on steroids. There was another sign above which read "Pack A Punch." There was a small battery on top of the mouth. "Pack-a-Punch! Yee-haa! Pack-a-Punch!" a jingle was heard.
"Pack A Punch?" Rei questioned as she looked at the machine.
"Why is this here?" Jasmine asked. She thought they had one back home.
"Is this the same one?" Lois asked. It was her first time seeing a second one.
"Not exactly," Humungousaur responded as he walked up to the lift. He grabbed the machine and pulled it out. There was a loud scraping sound as he took the machine out of the lift.
"There is that battery," Saya pointed out. "James, what is the difference?" she asked.
"This one allows you to upgrade your gun twice but instead of making your gun stronger it gives you an attachment," Humungousaur explained as he put the machine down. He thought it was slightly heavy.
"Attachment?" Jasmine asked.
"Like a sight or laser sight?" Saeko questioned as she walked towards the machine.
"Exactly," Humungousaur responded. "Lois why don't you but you gun in," Humungousaur responded.
"Sure James," Lois replied as she walked to the machine. She put her M4W in the machine and pressed a switch. The machine started sparking and glowing blue. The gears were running full speed. There was a flag up. Then there was a ring. The M4W came out.
She held her gun. There was an additional scope behind the red-dotted sight that could be used or not. The gun had a dark green camouflage with spiral like patterns all over it. The grenade launcher under barrel attachment was still there. "It still is my M4W but it feels lighter and more deadly," Lois remarked.
"It definitely looks different, you have two scopes now," Saya responded. Saya did think they never tried using it twice. She thought it would have been a no brainer however there was a restriction which the machine did not seem to have.
"Maybe for range," Rei suggested as she looked at her upgraded weapon. She had the Sliquifier in her hand. She wondered what it would be like upgraded.
"Let's keep going with the quest," Humungousaur said.
"The quicker we get out of here, the better it is," Rei commented as she looked into a piece of wall which was broken.
