Chapter 4 - chapter 4

Raven let out a deep sigh.

"Ink why is my body double have to act this way. Ah it's frustrating." He grumbled to his system.

[ Please bear with it host once you complete the mission you may act as you please.]

"Fine but if it takes more than a year I'm quitting."

[…]

Ink wanted to weep at his hosts impatience. Although he was a higher grade host than those previous he was still the most impatient. The other hosts didn't even receive a body double ever.

After a second he walked across the street. His hand just reached the door when his system sounded in his head.

[ Mission Successfully Completed.]

Raven shook his head in amusement.

Ink wished he could flip a table right now. Are you serious right know!? That was too fast. His inner turmoil had no outlet so he just brooded about how unfair everything this time around was.

'By the way Ink what was the mission, I forgot to ask.'

[ To separate the children of fate in this world.]

His voice came sounded completely defeated.

'Does that mean I can just leave?'

[Yes if you wish to but you would skip on the side missions and additional rewards.]

'A side mission? That sounds fun let's do them.'

When he finally opened the door he had a smile plastered on his face. He spotted Fiona easily. She looked like she wanted to murder him.

"Good morning big sister."

Raven greeted as he took his seat across from her without ordering first.

Her coffee had gone cold some time ago as she was forced to wait for this floozy to get here.

When she saw her alpha kiss him she almost lost her mind. She could oases her arms glaring at him.

A barista came up to Raven who smiled sweetly at her.

She slid him a coffee giving him a wink.

"Already cheating on him?"

Fiona spat her words clipped and full of venom. Raven scoffed and rolled his eyes.

"Not that you would know but she," he pointed to the barista back behind the counter. "Is my best friend Maya. So no I'm not cheating on my man."

Raven took a sip of his coffee happy it was just the way he liked it.

Fiona's eyes scrutinized Raven. How could be so full of confidence all of a sudden he was always so meek infront of her before. He probably feels confident because she paired with Sage, her Sage. Her jaw clenched in irritation.

"If you think you won your way off. Once he finds out that you're not the sappy needy Omega you portray yourself to be it will be all over."

She smirked while Raven chocked on his hot coffee. His eyes watering several people around him noticed his cute and delicate omega chocking.

An alpha waiting in like quickly stepped out offering a gentle pat to his back.

"Are you alright cutie?"

He hummed while another quickly offered him a napkin.

"How can he be okay his chocking."

The second alpha grumbled while. A third quickly can over a cup of cold water in hand.

"He might have burned his tongue, here take a sip."

Raven gave a great full smile to all three and took a small sip from the water. It immediately cooled his burning tongue.

"Thank you but I'm okay." His eyes cast down shyly. He wiped his mouth and hands with the offered napkin.

Everyone in the cafe thought how sweet and gracious the small omega was. He was so beautiful no wonder so many alphas came to his rescue. His sweet smile melted their hearts.

"You shouldn't drink your hot drink so fast cutie."

The first alpha scolded gently.

Raven's cheeks blushed a light shade of pink and he hung his head.

"I didn't chock because of that."

His eyes took a peek at Fiona. Understand seemed to enter everyone at the cafe's heads. The second alpha spoke up curiosity over taking him.

"Is she bullying you?"

His brows furrowed and his glare swung to Fiona.

"She's my sister!"

Was all Raven said in her defense clearly forgetting the most important part out of the sentence.

"Well is your sister bullying you?"

The he first alpha pressed. He was a tall blond with light green eyes. His sharp grey suit fitting him to perfection.

"Oh umm, no?"

The blond arched a brow humming his disbelief. He waited partially for the omega to give him a good explanation. He wasn't about to leave him here if the woman meant him harm.

"Well she said my mate will leave me for her."

The man chuckled unkindly at his statement.

"And why would he do that?"

Fiona was feeling too exposed at the moment as almost everyone in the coffee shop were shaking their heads in disapproval.

"You know what? Never mind how about you come with me and I'll take you to your mate and you two can discuss it together.

Raven looked unsure, a newly mated omega going off with a strange alpha was not recommended.

"I promise in my honor as an alpha I won't lay a hand in you. Can you tell me where he is?"

Raven shook his head.

"He said he had a business meeting at noon but I don't know where it's taking place."

The alpha considered him thoughtfully.

"Well I also have a business meeting that I seem to be late for how about you come with me and perhaps he will be there too."

The second alpha still standing next to them sighed.

Looks like the little one will be in good hands.

"Looks like I'm not needed here, good luck and congratulations little cutie."

He bade the two a wonderful day and rushed from the cafe.

Maya sauntered over just when Raven was about to decline.

"Raven just go you can catch up with her when his with you. Hum?"

Raven always had a soft spot for Maya and nodded in understanding. She smiled pulling him into a tight hug.

"You better introduce your hunk of a man to me next time. And I want details." She giggled when the owner called her back. She rolled her eyes giving his shoulder one last squeeze.

"Gotta go sorry love."

Fiona awkwardly watched as Raven got up and followed the overbearing alpha out. That bitch always attracted attention simply by existing but she had to put in work to get anywhere in life it was just so unfair.

She even made Raven into a playboy to Sage just so he would stay away from him if they ever met. Her anger flared and she texted Sage immediately a cruel smile stretching her lips.

If he wanted to steal her man watch her reclaim him.

Sage was seated at his usual table at his favorite high end restaurant. He was getting impatient as Aiden was now twenty minutes late.

He grumbled to himself how irresponsible his best friend was being when his cell dinged.

A text from Fiona.

The first thing that caught Sage's attention was Raven entering a sleek black Mercedes with a tall blond in a gray suit holding the door open for him.

Under it read You really should have listened to me. If you censoriously apologize I'll consider taking you back.

Sage almost crushed the phone in his hand. Slamming his fist on the table. He was about to get up and leave when Aiden's voice entered his ear.

"Ah there he is just give us a few minutes then I'll help you alright cutie?"

When he looked up to see who he was talking to his most almost fell open. Aiden was walking towards him the gray suit was what caught his eye first then the neatly styled blond head of hair.

Behind him trailed a dazed Raven looking at everything. Lastly the words Aiden said settled in.

"Help who with what?"

He inquired watching Raven's eyes go wide in surprise an happy smile quickly followed.

"Oh nothing much. This little cutie was being bullied at the cafe I tried to get a coffee from. He was in a bind I promised to help him find his mate but it look like we already found him."

Aiden gave Sage a knocking smirk before taking his seat across from his best friend.

Aiden shyly slipped into the seat to Sage's left when a waiter pulled up a seat for him.

Sage focused his attention on Raven.

"What is this about being bullied?"

Raven just averted his eyes feeling embarrassed at being found out. His mate squinted his eyes at him waiting for an explanation but none came.

Feeling this was a sore subject to press on he decided to inquire about it at a later date, preferably when they were alone.

[Boss why are you still playing meek?]

Ink's use of boss instead of host didn't go unnoticed by Raven who swallowed his smirk.

'Wouldn't my mate be suspicious if I change so quickly in a matter of hours? It would be dear if I slowed let my true personality out over time this way he will believe my confidence is thanks to him and his love will deepen even more. Thus never leaving my side.'

Raven's methodical way of thinking impressed Ink finding a new found respect for his newest host.

Aiden felt like someone was wrong and clarified for the anxious omega.

"A woman was bullying him at the cafe she had the audacity to say his mate would leave him for her. How ridiculous and presumptuous of her honesty."

Aiden scolded a scowled on his handsome features. His anger rose once more at the memory of that awful woman. Whoever was to marry her must have a mind of steel or a complete idiot.

Unbeknown to him his best friend would have been just that idiot if his rut hadn't been triggered by Raven's sweet scent driving him crazy all night.
