Jayden moved to the other side of the counter and carried Maya up in his arms, Everyone was surprised to see what he was doing including the people shopping around the mall, he walked away with her heading to his VIP room.
"What just happened? Why did he carry her like that?" 2nd girl asked surprisedly.
"This is unbelievable". 1st girl said and they rushed back to their work immediately they saw the manager coming their way.
Thirty minutes later, Maya woke up to see herself in a strange and conducive room with an amazing interior design, She wondered how she got here, and she stared at the time on the wall, She noticed she overslept, so she climbed down from the bed and rushed out quickly bumping into someone who held her in her waist to prevent her for falling.
" Where are you rushing to? Do you want to harm the baby".Jayden said and Maya quickly regained herself and pulled away from his arms staring surprised at him.
"What are you doing here? Are you now stalking me? How do you know where I work?". she asked staring straight into his eyes and Jayden scoffed.
" Stalk you? Why would I do that? And for your information this a well-known popular place and people come in here every day to shop and the same goes for me," he said.
"Good for you, if you don't mind, I bet to take my leave". She turns to leave, but she stops as she catches sight of the manager walking in her direction. " Oh no, I can't let her see me and this guy together". she said to herself and then turned to Jayden, he was caught off guard as Maya grabbed his hand quickly and dragged him to a hidden place where no one could see him.
"What are you doing?". he asked.
"Shh, I don't want to be seen with you, my manager is coming this way, just hide here and don't come out". She said quietly and walked away before Jayden could say a word." Are you looking for someone, Ms. Queen?". she asked.
"Oh, you are here? Um, yes, I was looking for the boss". she said.
" The boss?" she asked confusedly.
"Yes, the owner of this place, he came here a while ago, did you see him around here?".
" Um, I--"she got interrupted.
"I am right here". Jayden said as he came out of his hiding place, they turned in his direction and Maya was surprised.
" Oh, sir, what were you doing there?".Ms. Queen asked.
"Well, your employee here, drag me there". he said and Ms. Queen turned to Maya.
" How could you do that Maya, Don't know he is the boss?" she quarrels.
"A-am sorry ma, I didn't know he is the boss". she sputtered confusedly and Jayden smirked at her.
" Am so sorry sir, she is new here ". She apologizes.
" Is ok, maybe your new employee needs to get some training on how to treat people with respect". he said.
"I will do that, please this way sir," she said and Jayden followed her behind and he winked at her.
"Why is it that anywhere I work, he is always the boss?". She grunts angrily.
Later in the day, Jayden came to the dining room, his meal was set on the table with maids surrounding it, he sat down and noticed he was the only one eating.
" Where is Maya? Why is she not on the dining?"He asked coldly and the head maid spoke
"I called her, but she said she rather eat in her room, I have already served her meal to her". she said and Jayden clenched his fist in anger.
" Get her here at once and don't ever make the mistake of serving her meal in her room without my consent, understand?".He yelled.
"Yes sir!". They said and Andrea rushed to call Maya from her room.
Maya was in her room eating when she heard a knock on her door.
" Who is it?" she asked and Andrea's voice came through.
"is me, Ms. Maya, the boss requests your presence at the dining". she said.
" Why? What does he want?".
"He wants you at the dining, please come".
"Go tell him I am not coming".Maya said.
"Please Ms.Maya, you have to come with me, otherwise we will be in deep trouble ". she said tensely and Maya was confused." Please".
"Ok, fine! I will be there shortly". she replied.
" Thank you Ms.Maya". she said as she left, Maya could sense the excitement in her voice. She stood up and left to the dining room to see Jayden's cold look.
"Why do you send for me?". she asked dubiously.
" Sit". he commanded and Maya sat down after hesitating for a while, then he raised his hard look at her." now listen to me, let today be the last time you will disobey my orders, if I come over to the dinner table and I didn't see you here, you will be sorry". he said and Maya scoff.
"Excuse you! What right do you have over me?". she said rudely and the maids were surprised with the way she was talking back to him." Now, you listen, you are not the boss of me and you can't tell how I want to live here because it's your house, you can only be my boss at work, not here". she added and Jayden clenched his fist.
"How dare you talk back at me? Do you --" he stood up angrily and Maya interrupted him rudely by standing on her feet.
"Or what, Mr. Williams? You think I am afraid of you? Never, I don't care if you kill me or not, but me being in here with you is already torture for me ". she said angrily and turned to walk, she stop and whine as a sharp pain shot through her tummy, Jayden rushed to her quickly.
" Maya" " He called softly and held her hand." Are you okay?" he asked and Maya continued to groan in pain, the maids were in panic. Jayden tried to help her sit on the chair, but she fell on his body consciously, everyone went surprised."Maya! Maya!". He panicked and carried her up in his arms and rushed her to his room, then he dialed the doctor's number as he lay on the bed calmly, Not too long after the doctor came over and rushed to Jayden's room. The doctor moved to Maya on the bed and observed her pulse and her heartbeat, while Jayden was behind him looking worried. "Doctor, is she okay?". he asked and the doctor turned to him.
" Is nothing to worry about Mr. Williams, She is just being stressed out and it's not good for the baby at this stage, Don't let her do things that will be stressful for her or things that can make her angry, it's dangerous for the baby". he said.
"Ok doctor, thank you". he said.
" Good night Mr. Williams". he said and walked away. Jayden sighed in relief and moved to sit next to her on the bed.
The next morning, the rays came out brightly, giving the room a cozy lived-in-air. Maya groaned quietly in sleep, then she felt a warm and tender hand cuddling her, she thought it was a dream, then she turned her face to see a familiar figure on the same bed with her and was sleeping calmly. She opened her eyes widely and screamed out jerking up from the bed including Jayden.
"What the hell! Why did you scream like that?" He yelled
"What are you doing in my room and why are you on the same bed with me?" she asked curiously and Jayden scoffed.
"Your room? Does this place look like your room?". he questioned and Maya suddenly stared around and noticed it wasn't her room.
" Why am I here? How did I get in here?". she asked.
"You passed out last night in the middle of a discussion". he said and Maya suddenly remembered what happened last night then she frowned at him.
" You couldn't bring me to my room, why did you have to bring me here?".
"This is my room dummy, and I hate that I have to bring you in here". he said sassily and Maya scoffed.
" Like I care". Her eyes caught sight of the clock on the wall and she noticed she was late." Gosh! am late". She rushed to the door and Jayden stopped her.
"You are not going to work today". he said and Maya turned to look at him.
" Excuse me!".
"You heard me, you are not going to work today, you have been placed on a week rest". he said.
" Why?".
"Because the doctor said so, you losing consciousness last night was as a result of stress and the doctor said is bad for the baby". he said and Maya felt her tummy quickly." Don't worry, the baby is fine". he said and Maya let out a sigh of relief before dashing out of the room.
