Days later, Maya was helping out with the girls in the kitchen and she was lost in thought of how she kept having a dream of someone cuddling when she was asleep.
"Are you ok, Ms. Maya?". Linda asked as she noticed her mood.
" Yeah". she replied.
"But you don't look fine to us, is something bothering you?". Andrea asked and Maya sighed.
" Um, is it possible for someone to keep having a repeated dream for weeks?"She asked and they stared at her confusedly
"How do you mean?" Amma questioned.
"I don't know, I just keep having this strange dream that someone always sleeps and cuddle me at night, I thought maybe it was my imagination not until it kept repeating itself". she said.
" Really? You don't know who the person is?" Lucy asked and Maya tossed her head.
"That's strange". Linda said.
" I don't think that is strange, it is not your imagination or a dream". Andrea said and turned to her.
"How do you mean?" Maya asked confusedly.
"I actually saw the boss sneaking out from your room one morning, so, he is probably the one sleeping next to you". Andrea explained and they were surprised.
" Are you sure of what you are saying?". Maya asked curiously.
"Yes, I have come across him twice". she said.
" That moron, how dare he crossed the boundaries between us". Maya said angrily.
"Maybe he wants to be with his child," Amma said.
"Yeah, I guess so too". Lucy said.
" Maybe you can ask him the reason why". Linda said.
"Yeah". Andrea said and Maya stared at one spot angrily.
Jayden went to the hospital to see his doctor, and both were seated in the office discussing.
" So, how have you been?"Doc. Micheal asked.
"Doing great actually". he replied.
" I can see that, so are you still having sleepless nights, do you still take your sleeping pills?"He asked firmly.
"Um, not really, I stop taking them over weeks now".
" Really? Does that mean you are cured of your insomnia, should I run some tests on you?" he asked.
"Yeah, that's why I am here, I stop having these sleepless nights ever since..." he pauses for a while and reflects back on how it started.
"Is everything okay?" Doc. Micheal jolting him out.
"Um, yeah, so, is it possible for someone's insomnia to be cured by sleeping and cuddling someone?" he asked curiously.
"How do you mean?"
"I just that I haven't been having sleepless nights since the day I started sleeping next to her". he said.
" Who?"Doc. Micheal asked confusedly. "Are you talking about the lady I saw in your room some night ago?".
" Yeah, I sleep peacefully whenever I sleep and cuddle her in my arms". he said and Michael smiled.
"This means she can be able to cure you". he said.
" Really?".
"Yes, is eighty percent possible to be cured as long as you keep sleeping next to her".
"OK, can you still run some text to see if it's improving"? Jayden said.
"Okay, let's go ". he said, and they stood up and left for the laboratory.
Later at night, Maya was pretending to be fast asleep in other to catch Jayden red-handed, just then her door opened slowly, and someone entered and closed back the door. Jayden sat on the bed staring at her, he took off his slippers and lay next to her, suddenly, Maya got up from the bed and turned on the lamp beside her.
" You!". she said and Jayden sat upright staring at her speechlessly. "Why are you in my room?".
" Just calm down".
"Calm down?" she scoffed, "So, it wasn't a dream or my imagination, after all". she said.
" Let me explain". he said firmly.
"Explain what! how dare you cross the line, we both signed a contract not to be close to each other, then, why are you here? are you trying to take advantage of me like you did before?" She questioned rudely.
"Of course not, will you just let me explain to you". he sighed tiredly. " I did not intentionally sneak into your room to be sleeping beside you, I did it because it helps a lot". he said and Maya stared confusedly at him.
"How do you mean?".
" I have insomnia, I don't sleep at night but only on pills which sometimes make me sleep for a few hours, but it changed that day you fell unconscious, and I had to take you to my room, I slept peacefully that night, but the next night, I couldn't, so, I have to sneak into your room to see if truly I can sleep comfortably by your side, which works". He said firmly.
"Seriously! " she scoffs."do you expect me to believe this your cooked-up story? Well, I don't! Try the next person, I know you are doing this for your own selfish interest". she said rudely and Jayden sighed tiredly at her.
"I am not lying, you are the only one that can cure me of this illness, I had a test done today and the doctor said that I can be totally cured if I keep sleeping next to you".
" Never! I won't allow you to come close to me, we had a deal".
"I know, I totally understand, but I am not lying".
" I don't care if you are lying or not, but I won't allow you to come close to me, now, leave my room". She said pointing at the door.
"Just--" he got interrupted.
"I don't want to hear it, just leave my room". she said losing her patience, Jayden stood up and left for his room, and Maya stood up and locked the door. Jayden sat down on his bed looking devastated, he stared around his room and let out a deep sigh.
The next morning, Maya came out of her room, also with Jayden, and their eyes met and Maya noticed his eyes were swollen and had dark circles under them.
" Good Morning". he greeted and walked away before Maya could reply to his greeting.
"Is he angry?" she gave a shrug and walked away. She went outside to see the chauffeur waiting for her.
"Shall we ma.". Mr.Duke said with a bow.
" I have told you to stop addressing me as ma, am not that old".
"Am sorry".
" Why are you apologizing, anyway, who asks you to drive me to work?" she asked.
"The boss did". he answered
" Since when? Don't worry, let me take my normal taxi".
"But he insists I should start driving you to your place of work starting today if you refuse, I might lose my job". he said and Maya sighed tiredly staring at him.
Jayden was working in his office with a warm coffee beside him, Then Theo entered holding a document.
" Hey bro". he said and Jayden raised his face to him."woah, why do you have dark circles under your eyes, did you even sleep well last night?" he asked as he sat down and placed the document in front of Jayden.
"What's this?". Jayden asked as he took the document and glanced through it.
" Oh, that's the MARCO Real Estate building, the owner wants to sell it out and I know it will be good for your investment, you have to hurry up to meet with him before other parties do". he said.
"How sure are you if this estate of a thing doesn't have any criminal records". Jayden said.
" No, it has none, is legit,".he said and Jayden stared at him for a while and pushed the document back to him.
"Get more details on the estate and let me know". he said
"but I already did".
" I need more, I am still not convinced". he said and resumed his work.
"Ok, fine". he stood up and walked away with the document.
