Kyle:
Last year's prom's next morning
When I woke up in my bed, a headache like none before strikes, and I start to regret my drinking decision until I see a note on my nightstand with a pill and a cup of water next to it.
Although I do not support your alcoholic choices, I do feel like you owe me to take the pill . Go back to sleep and swear off the cursed drink for a while, considering you drank a lot, so much so a neighbor called the neighborhood committee on me when I threw the trash outside, can you believe that by the way?-
Yes I can. It's probably old bob, he's one to talk, he should have been grateful I didn't call the cops on him last time I smelled so hard drugs on him. I can't help but notice that her note is shorter than usual.
I made some breakfast, you're not allergic to anything, are you? No one is allergic to pancakes, right?-
Sure, sweetheart...
Woohoo what was that thought now, did I think of Monica as a sweetheart.. although she actually is so probably it's not weird... it is though you're her teacher.. technically tutor..still it's fucking weird, it's probably the hangover I'm taking the pill.
I made some Mac and cheese too in case you woke up during lunch hours, don't worry I cleaned after myself, even though the summer break is starting don't miss me too much I'll visit, I can't let you have a boring life you need some chaos in life -
I do need you in my life yes, darling...
Again weird, stop it stupid brain.
Whatelse? Oh yes , I took one of your blankets home with me by accident, and I'm not returning it. Anyway, I wish you well , take care until next time drunkie<3
It was not an accident, she wrote this before she went home, duh. Plus I hope that nickname doesn't stick around, she could have called me something else...like babe.. alright what's wrong with me? I never thought of her like that before, maybe that she is so conventionally attractive but nothing for that sort, she had just turned 18 last month for ducks sake. Was it last night? I mean she did kinda rock my world with that slap, shamefully I liked it...she cooked for me and took care of me, I didn't even thank her...and talking to her after about mom.... I guess wasn't so bad considering I was trauma_ happy times_dumping on her ass... Her ass did look good in that dress, she looked like a fallen angel coming to my rescue, my very undeserving rescue apparently if I'm seeing her like that now. Her eyes said so much and nothing at the same time when we were in bed just staring at each other, I couldn't look away if I tried... Omg it's was her prom night.. well not her actual prom night but still...how embarrassing and pathetic I was to forget that and to force her to spend it with me instead of with her friends?...I don't feel too bad though if she was gonna hang out with that boy she likes...he does not deserve her, not her daring repsonses when challengd, not her sarcastic humor, nor her little shit eating grins that make her flustered when she does not want to laugh, not her cute outfits that fit her too well and determine her mood for the day, not the look she gives when the sunset reflect on the golden ring of her dark brown eyes like molten honey, not her Beauty-Marks that she connects when bored to draw something, absolutely nothing, he doesn't deserve my Monica...
My? MY? she is not yours Kyle, she's her own person , so what if he doesn't deserve her it's not like you do? You're ten years her senior..you shouldn't feel what you feel dumbass...
Now.
It started innocent, her support that night meant a lot but it was just that. Support , Kindness, the same goes for her visits that summer which did not help my case on not crushing on her... When she wrote her note I thought it would be like twice or maybe three times in the summer... Let's just say , she spent time with me more than she did with her parents, she came back that evening.
At first I thought the feelings were the results of my confused grief along with the atmost gratefulness that she never left me alone during such time. Until I realized we got so familiar with each other _ cooking for her in the kitchen when she comes over around lunchtime, playing board or video games in the afternoon, nap for an hour although she's mostly the one who falls asleep, reading time in the evening on the couch where she usually tries to hide her Kindle acting like she's not reading filth then a good night sleep in our respective rooms, yes I finally finished the guest room because it didn't feel right for her to be sleeping on the couch no matter how comfy her new blanket is_ we had a routine, and it didn't feel like just roommates, it was more than that. I began to miss her as soon as she left my car when I drop her off every morning at her house, I was going to sleep everyday hoping she didn't make plans with her guy friend to hang out with him instead of me, I was fighting a war with those shamful emotions trying to act like the wet dreams I had were just because of my years of celibacy and not because of the too soft hearted little princess that crashed my summer and my heart. Then of course came Jake and I had to put her stuff in box to free the room, the first week he got here I made him sleep in my bed so I could keep her stuff there longer, her little hair ties, some of her clothes and her sheets, gosh her smell of vanilla and sugar cookies on them could give me a tooth ache of how sweet it is, until that day when her and Jake were introduced...ngl wished it was me she jumped on..I did get a sight for sore eyes that day though, I never thought I would inherit my father's sadistic preference yet there I were, blood rushing fairly fast down south where it's not supposed to be, glad we made it out of that awkward bubble thank god.
The relevation of what Jake did to her though, whether he meant to or not, is definitely costing him and sadly it won't be just the bike now, sorry mom.
