"Alright, before I send you down, I have to tell you about your current condition," Jason said. "You know, as a bonus so that you don't run around like a headless chicken."
"Okay?" Karna replied sceptically.
"Well, you were asleep for quite a while, and the Gildarts shift happened, and he returned. Thankfully, he managed to survive Acnologia with fewer wounds than in canon this time. But still, the entire guild, along with the city, was a victim of the Anima." Karna's eyes widened slightly at that.
"I slept through all of that?" Karna asked, a bit surprised.
"What do you expect would happen if you constantly empty and fill the ethernano core within you without resting? Normal people would have died, but thankfully, your physique was strong enough to handle it. And when you finally recover completely, your ethernano reserves will increase to a whole other level from before. Even Gildarts would start to look at you like a monster."
"Okay, so is my body currently turned into ethernano?" Karna asked.
"Nope. Actually, your bond with Incursio had grown strong enough in your last battle for it to be completely integrated into your physical body. So in the future, you won't have to take it out from your inventory. Though it is still difficult for it to combine with your other forms of power.
But for now, you are currently a Dragon Slayer who can deter the effects of Anima from affecting your body. But in this case, it acted while you were unconscious. So when Anima took everyone except the Exceeds and Dragon Slayers, you were left behind, and no one knew that you were immune."
"Wait, doesn't that mean—"
"Yeah, Natsu, Wendy, Gajeel, Happy, Carla, Lucy and Mystogan went through the Anima gate while you were left behind. And by now, the gate has closed, so you'll have to wait till they fix the problems there and return."
"Then what am I supposed to do here?"
"Did you forget something that you have to do?"
Suddenly, a window opened up in front of Karna.
"Oh," he replied.
"Okay kid, best of luck," Jason said as he snapped his fingers, and immediately everything went dark for Karna.
By the time he opened his eyes, he was on a white bed in an unfamiliar tent. As he slowly got up, he realised he was not alone in the room.
"Warrod-san?"
"Young Karna, how are you doing?" Warrod asked as he watered a few small potted plants around.
"I'm feeling a bit alright. I pushed myself a bit during the last mission with Nirvana. And from the looks of my current accommodation, something happened while I was out, correct?" Karna asked.
"Well, my boy, you've always been smart for your own good. But yes, you're right. From what we found, the entire town of Magnolia became a victim of the Edolas Anima," Warrod said with a serious expression.
"Okay," Karna replied simply and gently got up.
Warrod raised his eyebrows slightly, seeing Karna's reaction.
"Seems like you're not surprised about the disappearance?" he asked.
"Warrod-san, why do you think I wasn't sucked into the Anima?" Karna asked as he took out his bow and checked his magic one by one to see whether he was prepared for his next mission.
Warrod scrunched his eyebrows.
"I want to say that you were unconscious, but the guild alone would have had a lot of people who were drunk at the time, and even hospitals too. The other thing is that, just like the Council, you had gotten the information about the other world from Mystogan. But unlike the Council, you were able to make countermeasures against the Anima.
But if that was the case, you would have made sure the rest of the guild was protected as well. So I can't say, my boy."
"Well, your deductive reasoning has improved, old man. But the real reason is this," Karna said as he raised one of his arms, and suddenly, an armour with a dense aura covered his entire arm.
Warrod was astonished at the amount and density of the ethernano he was feeling right now.
"My boy, you've grown so much. And that armour... if I'm right, that armour has the aura of a dragon," he said, as he even felt his wooden body recoiling slightly at the intensity of Karna's aura.
Karna released the armour and spoke.
"Mystogan once told me that there are records in their world about dragons being a special race that disappeared centuries ago. From what I can understand, my Dragon Slayer armour protected me from being sent into the Anima. And if I'm right, the other Dragon Slayers might also have been unaffected by the Anima," Karna said as he began walking.
Warrod stood up and immediately started following him outside.
"But then where are they right now?" Warrod asked.
"The first thing I know they'll do is go through the portal made by Anima to find out what happened to our friends who vanished from this world. And from what Mystogan was able to learn from Anima, the function of the portal is to convert the magic-filled objects of this world directly into ethernano crystals and send them to Edolas. But after the transfer occurs, the created portal acts as a gateway to Edolas and can be used to safely travel through both sides."
"But the portal has already closed. All that's left is a town with nothing but white ethernano powder," Warrod said. "So is there a way to go to that world?" he asked, expecting Karna to do it since he saw him getting up as soon as he woke up.
"Oh, that can't be done, Warrod-san. The only chance they have are the three Dragon Slayers who went to fight for them on the other side. All we can do is wait for them to come back. Just make sure no one remains in the location of the town when everyone comes back, or there might be some gruesome deaths," Inazuma said as he made the entire Incursio armour appear on his body.
Inazuma was able to feel that the armour had become even denser. At the same time, he was only able to see the outstretched wings and the body, but he could say for sure that it had gotten even more menacing by now.
"Wait, then where are you going?" Warrod asked.
"I found something while battling Nirvana, so I'm going to deal with it for now. I'll send you the details later, Warrod-san," Inazuma said as he suddenly vanished from Warrod's sight. All that was left was a sudden gust of violent wind that almost made Warrod fall to the ground.
"That kid... how strong has he become?" he thought with wide eyes.
A/N- hope you like it.
