Karna was flying through the skies as fast as possible, knowing that the window he has is really low.
He opened the system interface and read the information on the mission.
[Main mission: War II – True Demon Warfare
Dark wizard Zeref created Etherious, who were called demons for centuries by humans. But because of this, the world had forgotten the original demons hidden within the shadows of the continent—the ones who spread true darkness, who feed on fear and pain, who wait for a time when they can take over the world and make it their own playground.
Mission: Stop the now-awakened demons from creating more and restarting the demon species to plunge the world into full chaos.]
Karna read the mission and knew that the war would be similar to how he had stopped the Drakons. The system had stated its directives in the first war mission—that it would give Karna clues by which he could stop the wars before they even started in this world.
The last time, he was able to stop the Drakons from appearing in this world by forming a coalition with the nation's top S-Class wizards, who worked together with him to defeat all of them. But even then, he was almost dead in that suicidal move he made in the end, where he sacrificed his armor to protect Cana. But this time, he does not even have enough time to call upon reinforcements, as he has to stop all of them himself.
"System, give me the information to counter this mission. If I remember, I had done a lot of missions to get additional information, right?" Karna asked.
[Yes, host. Because of completing all the missions successfully, the host has managed to access the maximum knowledge allowed by the system to part with the host.]
"Okay, show it to me."
[Demon characteristics include their lack of eyes due to being created and evolved in a complete lack of light, which makes their other senses work extra in the darkness.
Their bodies secrete a kind of energy that plunges the surroundings into complete darkness. No amount of light created in the natural world can affect this darkness.
The demons that the host will currently have to face are classified as the Seven Deadly Sins.
They were sealed by the last Fate Breaker born almost a millennia ago.]
"Fate Breaker? Who's that?" Karna interrupted.
[Fate Breaker is an individual with the ability to go against fate and break prophecies and unchangeable destinies. They even have the power to destroy fixed points in time.
The last Fate Breaker had battled the demons at full force and had found out that more than three-quarters of the world had become infected by them. One of the demons had the ability to act as a sort of virus and began infecting the people all around the world.
The Fate Breaker therefore had burned down half the planet completely and destroyed the rest while making sure a small part of the living beings of the world survived.
But at the end of the battle, when he was weakened from destroying millions of demons, the Seven Deadly Sins teamed up to finish him off in one go. Seeing that he would not survive this battle and the chances of multiple Deadly Sins surviving even if he fought his best were very high, he used the last of his soul and magic to seal them inside the planet so deep that no civilization was able to unearth them for centuries.]
"Yes, but that was before the Etherion Cannon, right?" Karna sighed as he said this out loud. He had checked the location where the demons have awakened and are planning on multiplying soon and found out that it was the same location where the R-System built by Jellal was made.
No wonder Hades was able to get a chunk of negative energy from that region. The cursed cluster he got from that place not only included the negative emotions of all the victims of the tower that were trapped there for almost a decade, but also siphoned a bit of the negative energy present within the tombs of the demons, which were miles under the sea.
Karna would have to agree to the fact that the Fate Breaker was at least meticulous in his sealing, unlike others. Not only did he trap them deep within the earth, but he also made sure that it was under the sea at a considerable distance away from the nearest landmass. But he would not have predicted that some idiot would build a sacrificing ritual at that place, along with the fact that they would be suicidal enough to use one of the strongest weapons known to mankind as a way to charge the weapon.
Basically, Jellal had used the R-System tower to absorb the magic fired by the Etherion Cannon and converted it into pure solid Ethernano for his ritual. But there was still a lot of excess energy left behind. Without considering anything, Jellal had designed the tower to focus that excess energy to the ground.
Thankfully, that place was a long distance away from the seas, and the damage was not that serious. If the damage had been a bit more severe, or if it had happened closer to the landmass, the resulting damage in the tectonic plates would have brought even more disasters to the world.
But the main thing here was that the seal was slightly broken due to the excess energy being diverted to the ground. And the demons have gotten the energy required to break the seal. They have currently started taking steps to regain more of their magic and multiply their species as well.
From the information provided by the system, Karna knew that one of the abilities of the demons is to act like a virus and infect countless beings in the world. The problem was that it can affect any kind of being that is alive. Even plants are not excluded. That's the reason the last Fate Breaker had to burn half the planet before.
"I hope I am not too late," Karna muttered to himself as he slowly reached the location in the sea.
A/N- hope you like it.
