Once I touched door knob a gold light shines all over the door and dims after a while. I realise the door has changed colour. Before it was just a normal brown oak door but now it was still a brown oak door but had golden murals all around it beautifying it and Master Manipulator written boldly on the topmost part of it. The manipulator i can understand but master, I have no idea what that means and I'm not sure I'm ready to find out.
I open the door and walk in and beauty was an understatement. It was beautiful beyond words. It had a living room which was expensively furnished and outstandingly gorgeous and a large kitchen which was equally expensively furnished and stocked to the brim. Right behind the living room were two doors, I walk up to the one on the right and touch the doorknob. The same thing that happened at the main door happened again and the door was filled with gold trimmings.
I enter and the room immediately felt homey. It was fully furnished with the bathroom to the right and the walk in closet to the left. The right wall was completely glass and it overlooked the forest. Looking at the forest from here at this time the view was breathtaking.
I look around the room and notice my stuffs were already arranged exactly the way I would have wanted it. Magic has its perks too. I take a look at the batbroom and walk in closets and the whole place was looking like a place for royalty but the only thing surprising here was how quiet the place is. It feels like no one is here except me.
I quickly undress and put my clothes in the laundry that washes, dry and even folds clothes. I take a long shower letting the hot temperature of the water cool all my nerves. Once I was done I change into a sleeveless top and shorts and seat in the living room with snacks and drink from the fridge.
I was about to watch a movie when there was a knock on the door. I walk up and open it, it was a servant with my food. I usher him in and he sets it down and leaves without uttering a word. I shrug it off once my eyes land on the island of food.
My stomach grumble and I began feasting. It was like our royal dinner and I was freaking hungry. It was a plate of Semo with Egusi soup and meat which was very delicious. It didn't take long for me to munch it all and go back to my movie. I watch different movies and the day rolls by slowly as I was expecting my roommate. At about 10:00pm when I didn't see anybody I enter my room ruminating on the many questions in my head that I didn't know when I slept off.
The next morning I was awoken by a very noisy voice screaming into my ears.
"Breakfast is by eight am sharp don't be late" the person screams and I immediately recognise the voice as belonging to Michael. I stretch my body and look at my clock. It was just 6:30am in the morning. I get up and start preparing for the day ahead. I take my bath which was very long by the way, then dress up before packing my stuffs and finally checking my reflection in the mirror. By around 7:30am I was done and I headed out of my room. As I walking out I bumped into someone and I quickly start to apologize. I look up and the face I saw shocked the hell out of me.
"Isaac, what the hell are you doing here?" I ask suprised as we quickly shake hands and exchange greetings.
"I can ask the same thing, I just went to sign as a senior and I was directed here by my Dean, so here I am" he says and I cock an eyebrow.
"I thought this was the school hostel for royals" I ask and he chuckles mockingly.
"This isn't the Royalty Dorms, this is a new place I've never heard of before" he replies
"So you mean we are not in the school Dorms?" I ask and he shook his head.
"The funny thing is the fact that we don't even have a timetable like every other student. Something is fishy somewhere" he says and I smile
"Always the philosopher, well we have to get going or we will be late for breakfast" I mock and he nods as we walk out of the room heading to the dinning hall. It wasn't hard to find it the moment we reached the ground floor. It was the first room to our right.
We walk in and all eyes turn to us. In the room were about 7 other kids at the table. I saw SUAP and another girl who looked like her friend on one side of the table, Tom and Cameron on the other side and two other girls beside SUAP's side of the table.
I take my seat beside Tom and we exchange greetings. He starts to tell me about how he got here and all I could pick was that we are all here without any explanation of why we are here. Breakfast is served and we all eat in silence each person in his own world. We finish eating and remain in silence no one ready to break it. The silence was broken by another noise from the same person.
"Now please proceed to the homeroom for briefing, thank you" Micheal says and SUAP was the first to get up and walk out hastily with her friend on her tail. The other two girls get up and we all follow. We walk round the ground floor and didn't find the homeroom. After walking up to the 1st floor we found it right at the end of the hall. We walk in and the class was empty also. Picking up a seat we all waited for anything to happen.
"So you didn't introduce us to your new friend Jace" Tom says and I act suprised
"Ohh I have totally forgotten, Tom, Cameron meet Isaac and vice versa" I introduce and they shake hands.
"Does anyone here have a clue why we are here" Cam asks and we all shake our heads.
"And why exactly is it only 10 of us. We aren't even on the top of the school's chart and we all have nothing in common. I can't see why we were chosen to live in this building away from the school" Tom says and we all think on it. We were still thinking when someone open another door at the front of the class and walks in.
"I'm so sorry I was tidying up a few things that's why i'm late" the person says and when I look up tonsee who it was I couldn't form words.
"Nic!, what the hell are you doing here?" I ask once I'm able to form words finally.
"That would be Prof Arduin to you Prince Dawson and watch your language in my class" he replies and I mutter an apology as SUAP snickers and I glare at her.
"I'm sure most of you have a lot of questions and I'm ready to give answers to them. To start with the first one which is why are you here right? Well the simplest answer is to train your ass out. Why is it you? Now that is the one that requires more attention and deeper explanation" he pauses and looks round trying to see if he has our attention and once he confirms it he continues
"It all started centuries ago when the Seers prophesied of the coming of a King. One with powerful royal blood who could channel all forms and his team. A group of the most powerful of each element blessed with unbelieveable and distinct power that can only be unlocked by the coming together of all, they were called Masters." He pauses takes a breath and continues
"Now this was prophesied centuries ago so after a long time the prophesy was seen as a sham, that's why you don't know of it. A few years ago one of the people was born. A Master of Air. He is the most powerful air channeler and the tattoo that was the sign of his power marked him as one. A year after him another was born. A Master of Water who is also the most powerful water channeler the world has seen and the tattoo marked him as one for them. A lot of years later others were born with the same power. You guys." We all look at him confused and he smiles.
"Each of you are born with the mark of your element tattooed on you right?" He asks and they all nod " that is the mark of a master and that is why we have put you guys together to train you to master those abilities and use them in the war." He says ending his story "any questions?" he asks and everyone starts speaking simultaneously
"What do you mean by masters?"
"How weren't we told what the marks mean?"
"Who is the Air Channeler?"
The questions keep coming and I could see Nic was getting frustrated and finally he snaps "Enough with the questions, Mr Dawson do you have any questions?" he asks referring to me and initially I was shocked but when all eyes were on me I finally got over it and stood up reluctantly.
"I have a few though, first what is my own part in the whole prophecy? Why is my tattoo not about an element? who exactly are our Air and Water channelers? and finally what will happen when our power is getting unlocked?" I ask putting to comsideration most poeple question and he nods gently for me to take my seat.
"To answer your first question, I think It is the first part, and how that is I don't know but we will find out soon. Secondly your tattoo is that of a manipulator which means it will be a mixture of all even though I haven't seen it" he says pointing out my idiocy "About the Air channeler I was going to get there soon. I am your Air Channeler and the first Master to be born and the water channeler will be revealed to you guys soon" he says dropping the bomb on us and I was shocked out of my mind.
Does that mean that he is one of the people who completes us meaning the power unlock is happening soon and how can we be from different times.
"Finally like I said, no one knows anything about the Masters so let us keep it that way. We don't know what will happen but when it does we will feel it. That's all" he finishes with a sigh "any other question" he ask and we all shake our heads "Well if that is covered, now we can move to orientation. Since you all are seniors you are meant to do the power show for the newbies. Until the power unlock you will be doing your normal classes but everything will be holding here. Enjoy the rest of your day" he says before teleporting out of the room.
We all seat there in silence for a while before I break it. "I guess we need to get to the orientation hall soon, we dont want to keep them waiting and we will figure out the rest later" I say into the air and SUAP snickers
"And who made you our leader?" She asks and I was suprised.
"I never said I was though I was just trying to help" I reply a little annoyed.
"No one asked for your help, keep it to your freaking egoistic controlling self" she replies seething and I didn't expect it.
"Hey princess would you leave him alone, he was just trying to get us all out of our state of awe and help us process a little faster. Get over yourself" One of the girls from before replies
"Oh wow the pauper finally has the mouth to speak. How dare you speak to the crown princess of the whole of Taslania in such a manner" she snaps and the girl just chuckles
"You have forgotten you are a twin and your father hasn't crowned anyone and I'm pretty sure he can't choose an arrogant bitch like you to rule us if he has any sense in that wise head of his, which I'm sure he does. So keep living in an imagination" the girl replies and I was now in the center unable to stop them. By now SUAP was boiling
"Who the hell do you think you are" she says and i can see her gem flickering on and the girl casually sitting and smirking at her
"A master or don't you have a long lasting memory" she replies and it was the breaking point for SUAP as she calls on her power and throws 5 shard of ice at the girl and I was scared she might hurt her but as they got close to the girl they all melt into water.
"Wow thought you can catch me off guard, no way" she replies and I see her gem shinning a bright orange. Wow a fire channeler, she does have fire in her. SUAP prepares another round and the girl gets up and I knew this wasn't going to be pretty. I jump into their middle.
"Enough, that's enough" I scream and they both look at me "what kind of Masters do you want to be if you use your plain powers in petty brawls like this. Focus all those energy in class, now can we get to the orientation" I say and they both drop their hands and their gems die down
"Okay but this isn't over" they reply simultaneously. Now that was easy. SUAP packs her bag and leaves the class with her friend trailing behind her. The other girl was still packing her stuffs so I walk up to her
"Thanks for helping me out, she can be an ass sometimes" I say and she raises her eyebrow.
"More like most times" she says and we both laugh.
"Jason Dawson" I introduce stretching my hand for a shake
"Darla Plaid" she replies shaking hands with me "Nice to meet the famous manipulator" she says and I smile.
"Pleasure meeting the Fire Master also" I reply and she chuckles
"Well we have to go but we can catch up later" she says and I nod as she walks out with the other girl and I walk up to my friends.
"Nice to see you have started using your powers as a king" Tom says and I was confused.
"What do you mean" I ask and he smirks.
"Well this bookie of your friend here will explain" he says pointing to Issac.
"When you were trying to stop them from killing each other your gold gem was glowing and the red and ice blue ones and the moment you spoke they did exactly as you said. It confirmed something I read after i met you in a book of manipulator myths. It said they have the power to control not only other channelers gem but also the channelers. That's what you just used today" he says and it explains how even SUAP didn't argue at all.
