Jason
Arriving at the other side of the portal was like arriving in another world entirely. I'm not even sure I am wrong because everything about the place was ethereal. The school environment was beyond wonderful. I look around in awe of the beauty of the place. The place we arrived in was a grassland but instead of green grasses alone the grasees were of different colours that accented the beauty of the environment.
The moment I step on a grass it sleeps and once my feet are off of it stands back. I look up and right in front of me was a gigantous building almost the size of the palace itself. It was painted cream and chocolate brown qnd built woth expensive beauty. The colour of the buildimg gave it a calm and welciming but also luxurious aura. It looked like it was brough out of someone's wildest imagination.
Tom taps me and brings me out of my mind "like what you see, hun" he asks and I nod which he reciprocated with a smile "I knew you would love the school, isn't it beautiful?" he starts chirpping about to go into all about the school and I shake my head.
"Woah slow down bro, are we to remain here all day or what?" I ask and he calms himself before replying.
"No we are waiting for our friends and you have to go get signed in first" he says and I cock an eyebrow.
"I thought Elias and Sheila already took care of it all?" I ask and he laughs.
"Mom and Dad can only register you, you have to sign in when you arrive meaning you already accepted your admission and are joining the school." He explains and I nod in understanding.
"So where would this be done" I ask and before he can reply a portal opens beside us and a guy walks out of it. He looked around my age and he was dressed elegantly and expensively which meant one thing he is a royal or a very wealthy person. Tom jumps at his arrival and runs up to him pulling him into a hug.
"Arrived before you like I promised. Now be a good boy and pay up" Tom says and the guy shakes his head and brings out a few gold coins and give it to him "Nice doing business with you." He says and they both burst into laughter.
"I can see this shithhole hasn't changed a bit. The holiday was really long and I missed this shit hole of a place. Can't believe we are back as seniors though" he says and Tom scoffs.
"Let's hope you can keep up to the training this year though" Tom teases and the guy glares him down.
"Prof Kilman just hated me last session" he replies
"Oh yeah he did" Tom replies sarcastically and the guy gives Tom a bombastic side eye. Tired of watching them chat I butt in.
"Can you please direct me to where I'm to go next bruv?" I ask and he nods in recollection.
"Ohh I have totally forgotten. Cameron meet my brother Jason and Jace meet my best friend Cameron. His mom is mom's best friend" he introduces us and we shook hand in greeting.
"Wow the all talked about Manipulator and new ward of the king nice to make your acquaintance" Cameron says and I scoff
"I don't know you that much but I can detect you like flattery and bro I think I'll pass up on it. Nice to meet you too" I reply and he smirks "Now where next" I ask directing to Tom and he replies.
"Walk into the building, at the front desk you will see a person who will sign you in and give you all your stuffs" he says and I thank him before turning around and heading into the building. The building was more beautiful inside with paintings and artifacts all around the hallway and a beautiful modern hotel setting. I walk up to the front desk and a woman was sitted there with headphones on. I call her repeatedly and she was so lost in her own musical world to hear me. I finally tap her and she looks up.
"What can I do for you" she asks after putting down her headphone and giving me a stink eye which I ignore.
"I'll like to sign in officially" I reply and she looks at her laptop not responding to me for a while
"What's your name" she asks still focused on her laptop and still with the attitude.
"Jason Dawson" I reply and she stops typing and looks up to me. Her whole demeanor changes by just hearing my name. She quickly puts on a smile and speaks calmly and softly.
"Apologies your highness, I never knew it was you my lord. I won't be attending to you my lord. The Headmaster will sir." She says stuttering and overly respectful. I was beyond suprised at the change of attitude just by finding out my name.
"It's fine, pls where can I find the Headmaster ma. Please call me Jason and drop the act. You are trying too hard" I reply and a look of shock crosses her face before she replies with a smile.
"Down the hall you will see a hall to your right. At the end of the hall you will find his office." She says and I reply.
"Thank you"
"Have a nice year, my lord" she says as I walk away dragging my loads and walking in the direction she pointed. It didn't take long for me to find the office since it was the only one in the hallway. I walk up to the door and wait to try to put myself together before entering the office. Once I was done and about to knock a voice responds from inside the room.
"Come in Mr Dawson" the voice says and I was shocked out of my mind. How the hell did he know who was there? I walk in and the office was cool. Everything in the room was weirdly painted different shades of blue. Behind the large desk in the office sat a young man of around his late thirties working om some files. How ironic
"Yeah I am too young for a principal right" he says and I was suprised how did he know exactly what I was thinking? "Well I'm a Water channeler, I thought the colour of the office would say that much" he replies to my question and I give him a look " I know it's weird, terrifies most students. Pls have a sit" he says and I take my seat in the chair opposite him. He drops his files and face me. "I'm headmaster George Chillian" he says
I look up at him and nod in response. I'm not good at chatting so I get straight to the point.
"To what do I owe the honour of signing in the principals' office because I'm pretty sure it's not everyday this is done or is it?" I sat with a sly smirk on my face.
"No it isnt and to answer your question. First being a manipulator is enough but there is more. You are an important piece in a large puzzle and I just wanted to see you" he says with a far-away look that makes me feel he is hiding something.
"And what is this puzzle, might I know" I ask and he flinches like he just remembered something. "You would know very soon but right now you just have to settle down and enjoy your stay here" he says with a fake smile and that just confirms the fact that whatever he might be hiding is not so good.
"I think I would be doing that now if I wasn't here" I say referring to the last sentence not willing to probe any further.
"Ohh my bad. You just have to sign here" he says pointing to a contract and I sign it after reading through it "here are your files. I'm sure we will be seeing more of each other" he says with the same sinister smile and I was not liking it anymore. I turn back and couldn't find my stuffs.
"I left them here" I say out loud and he chuckles
"Works everytime. They are already in your room. Once you walk out the door someone will be there to take you there" he says and goes back to working on his files. What a weird headmaster he is.
I step out the door and surely the same woman from the reception was there waiting for me "Follow me, my lord" she says and I want to complain about the greeting but I was too tired for it. She walks forward and I follow behind her quietly. We keep walking in silence and though she was stealing glances of me she kept the silence which I was grateful for because I had more than enough on my mind.
We finally walk out the door into the open I was welcomed by the soothing smell of nature. The energy in the environment was so filling and I couldn't deny I was just itching to draw on it and fill myself up. We walk to the side of the building and keep walking in the midst of the forest behind the building. At first I was scared but I couldn't show weakness even though I know she had at least three times the level of training I have.
The forest was beautiful with tress of different kinds, large leafs that span almost a foot and the barks were so soft for me to ignore. Everything in this universe was identical to earth but was just more magical. They were so connected to the universe and the energy around them and it improved their environment.
We keep walking for about 25mins more through trees and I spent the whole time admiring nature. Finally bursting out of the forest I was suprised by what I saw. There in the middle of the woods was a building just a little smaller in comparison to the one I was coming from and even more beautiful. It was painted the same colours but these ones were more vibrant and everything used in building it was modern. It was like a modernised version of the other one with a lot of glass.
"I'm not able to go further. Just walk in and you will find someone who will direct you and help you settle in. Have an amazing school year" she says with smiles and before I could say anything she was out of my sight. I walk up to the door and take a deep breath before walking in.
The inside was more beautiful than the outside with gold tapestry and marble tiles. Chandeliers made of glittering glass illuminated the center. It was like a center hallway and it was empty. I look round trying to decide where to go.
"Welcome my lord" someone says behind me and I jump
"Ahh" I scream and turn calling on telekinesis and using against the person behind me immediately. He quickly moves to the side and the force of it shakes the wall.
"Woah that's some power you have there" he says and I face him annoyed.
"What the hell, you scared the shit out of me. You know I could have killed you right?" I reply trying to catch my breath.
"You wish, you are untrained" he replies and I glare him down "My name is Michael and how might I be of help to youyou?" he introduces formally.
"Good I need help finding my way here. My name is Jason Dawson and I was brought here and left to fend for myself. So can you help me get around." I answer and a look of shock crosses his face
"Holy hell, you are him" he says blushing "I have been expecting you all day. Welcome my lord, come with me." He says still smiling like he just saw his long time mentor.
"So who are you and how did you get behind me Michael" I say starting a conversation as we head up the stairs
"I'm the butler of this whole edifice and I'm an Air Channeler so I can teleport. Sorry to scare you that way my lord " he replies and I smile
"It's okay but can you please not refer to me as lord. For your information I wasn't that scared" I say and he cocks and eyebrow "okay fine I was freaking scared" I say and he chuckles.
"You really have power. It will take a well trained Air Channeler to pull that kind of telekinetic force you pulled. You really are very powerful like they say" he says and I smile.
"Thanks for the flattery but like you said I'm still untrained. By the way who else lives here" I ask
"The others will be arriving later in the day. We are here" he says and I realize we are in an hallway in the third floor. I see a door in front of me "here is your room.
"And the key please" I ask and he chuckles
"Just touch the knob and it opens for only you and your roommate" he says
"Ohh" I reply a little embarrassed "okay then" I continue akwardly.
"If you need anything just use the landlines and lunch would be brought up to your room soon" he says turning and walking away immediately.
"Well that was something"
I open the door and I just knew it was me opening the Door To A New Life
