Chapter 15 - CHAPTER 14

CHAPTER 14

AHAD POV:

I told everything truthfully to her and felt her gaze on me. I looked at her to find her shocked.

"What happened, Hayat?" I asked, giving my full attention to her, "That accident was on Sunday? Your- your bike was a Kawasaki Ninja H2?"

How did she know, I thought when something clicked in my mind.

"You-you were in the car?" She nodded repeatedly.

"I'm so sorry, Ahad, I'm so sorry, please forgive me, I was mad at my father that night, I had a fight with him, and I couldn't control it, and I didn't see the signal and crashed into you, I'm so sorry." She was panicking. Why?

"Shush, shush, Hayat, look, the accident was no one's mistake; it happened because it was meant to happen, that's all, but I have a question," I spoke softly, trying to calm her down a little bit... She gave a small nod.

Was it you the other day who said... sorry and encouraged me to move on?" I wanted to confirm, even when my heart says she's the one. The courage she gave me, unknowingly that day, to accept whatever happened was a push to move further.

"Yes – I was the one… Eira used to comfort me, encourage me to move forward, or else the past would suffocate me." She looked down towards her shoes suddenly, continuing, "But after her death, everything changed, and that is why her death made things devastating for me."

"I changed a lot in a very erroneous way just because I lost her, she loved me, fixed all the broken pieces I held in my heart once, and since I have always seen how Mrs. Mir treated Eira, I wanted to be selfish once, I wanted to be her daughter and I don't know about you so – I'm sorry... I mean, Eira used to talk about her brothers to me, but I didn't know you both were the ones she always chirped about." Her tone was filled with guilt, and I could understand her.

Eira used to talk about Hayat with me, but I didn't know that the Hayat she always talked about was also the Hazel she used to talk about.

Everything feels like a plan to make me the happiest…

I smiled and nodded my head when I saw Hayat's eyes go wide. I looked back to see only my annoying brother there, clicking our pictures. "Don't, Ashar. I'll kill you," I warned, thinking it might make Hayat uncomfortable.

"You stupid girl, couldn't you not widen your damn hazel eyes!! Ah, you are a moment killer," he closed his eyes, looking all annoyed.

"You mannerless man, don't you know! You should not invade someone's privacy," Hayat pointed her index finger towards him. I was confused by their bricking. Do they know each other? How? I thought to myself before I asked.

"You both know each other?"

"Yes, bhai, I know this mannerless woman. She's my student and my friend," he wiggled his eyebrows.

"I AM NOT YOUR STUDENT, YOU CRAZY SELF-OBSESSED MAN!" Hayat screamed, and it scared me; her annoyance was visible. Damn, I'm getting married to a crazy woman, I thought to myself when I heard her whispering near me, "I'm not crazy."

Did I say that aloud? I wondered as I glanced down at her, "Yes, you said that aloud, and I guessed what you were thinking just now." Giving me her sweet, beautiful smile, she spoke.

Walking towards our bike trackside. I saw them again, bricking when Ashar looked towards me and said, "Bhai apko pata hai kl hi iss ghadi larki ne mujhe bataya keh iski shadi hone wali hai jald hi or maine isko kaha tha keh pata nhi kis lucky larky ko yia unlucky krne jaa rahi hai aur aj pata chal rha hai keh wo unlucky larka aur koi nahi mera apna bhai hai." He laughed like a manic, and I just glared at him... (Translation: Bro, you know, just yesterday this crazy woman told me that she's getting married soon, and I had told her that she's going to make some lucky guy's life miserable. Today, I found out that the unlucky guy is none other than my brother.)

"Stupid man, shut up, you did not say that, Ahad, don't listen to this manic. He's just jealous that I'm getting married before him." Hayat tried her best to tell me not to think about what my own brother said, but right now, my whole focus is on my soon-to-be wife being so cute. I smiled, making her nod her head too.

"Will you now text me, or are you still shy after today's conversation?" I wanted to know her better, her likes and dislikes, her habits and hobbies, her favorite things to love, to do…

"But I don't use phone much like I don't use any app very much – I mean, I get texts a lot, but I don't reply *sigh* I just don't have a great relationship with phones," she fumbled with words.

"You are not obliged to text me back, but can I text you anytime I want if you're not uncomfortable?"

"Okay," a simple word, made me smile.

Simple talk makes a big difference. After our conversation, we parted ways. I had to return to my office, which I did after watching her go to Ashar. I guess new bricking is on the way.

Returning to my office, I read some files, still her roaming around my mind. A smile came to my lips as I took out my phone to text her, "Well, I'll join the race this week. Would you like to cheer for me there?" I do not know what to text, so I texted what we have in common.

After texting Hayat, I rang Ashar's phone and instructed him to take care of Hayat.
