Chapter 89 - Chapter 89: Damocles and Cosmos

Raven hummed softly as he observed Rose. Her emotional state wasn't as bad as he thought after her talk with Hestia.

There was perhaps a bit of anger, but he could sense it wasn't directed at anymore nearby, not herself. She was mostly feeling pleased, happy and content. Perhaps though she was also feeling a bit of confusion.

"She's fine." Raven nodded pleased at his apprentices mental state and vanished off to his workshop.

He also noted mentally he would need to meet with Hestia to decide on if she could shed some light on Rose's possible power and what those purple flames were.

So with that final thought he disappeared to his workshop, he had some large remodeling to do.

•~~~~•

Raven nodded pleased as he had just hollowed out the rest of the next nearby four mountains. Warding them all had been a bitch and a half, but he was finally done and ready to begin some work on Project Damocles.

Raven smiled as he summoned his notebook and laid it out on his large desk.

Project Damocles, named after the man who had a sword hanged above his head by a single horse hair. A lesson in power and greed, and the illusion of happiness.

It was modeled after a sword, five large orbs would be placed near the swords handle. Four elemental, and one raw magic. He has been filling them up constantly when he can spare the magic to do so.

However, the sword wouldn't be normal sized, oh no, it would be larger then a mountain in size. The raw power in it would be a hanging sword over everyone's head, all held on by his life and patience. Mostly his patience.

"Having it generate mana in such an amount will require some extra fine tuning and a lot of runic sequences." Raven groaned in sympathy for his future exhausted brain.

"Guess I should start forming the frame." Raven mused and took a deep breath as a giant chunk of dawn metal the size of a mountain appeared in his now giant workshop.

He grunted as he prepared himself for exhaustion.

"That looks like fun." Izzy said as she tapped her paws on his head, he blinked up at her and chuckled. A sarcastic laugh escaping him.

"You don't say my dear Izzy." Raven took a deep breath before he stopped holding in his power and let it all sit just below the surface of his skin instead of supressing it like normal inside his core.

He relished in the feeling of just a single power generator. He vividly recalled the ritual he and his magic teacher, Hecate, had done to fuse together his Magus, Mage and Wizardry cores together.

•~~~~•

"NOW PREPARE YOURSELF FOR THE PAIN!" Hecate cackled as she started feeding her divine energy into the ritual circle and Raven cursed before he felt an unbelievable amount of pain.

He didn't scream though.

That came when he first tried casting.

•~~~~•

He had spent a whole week relearning everything he knew to his, Lorelei's, level of perfection. He had been undoubtedly stronger, it was just annoying relearning everything.

He had tried with a basic fire spell, and well, they're still finding burn marks and molten slag around places of the underworld from it. Cerebus enjoyed the warmed up bed though, so plus sides.

With a wide smile he spread his magic through the block of metal and began a mass alteration/transfiguration spell he had personally made. He found it amusing to watch how far he had come. From changing a match to a silver needle, to this.

All in a couple years too.

He smiled as he saw his desired shape coming into fruition. The shining metal gleaming as he worked it under his magic, subtly reinforcing it at the same time. Carving runes into its entire composition too.

"Oh, what if I found a way to alter my size to such a level I could wield this as my weapon." Raven grinned and frowned as he noted how much magic this was taking, but then again, when your messing with a block of metal larger then even Hogwarts in size, its expected.

Raven raised an eyebrow as he felt Izanami return to her human form and wrap her arms around him and lean against his back as her energy flowed into him.

"Thank you." Raven said as he increased the output and mentally promised to take her out somewhere nice soon. He smiled as he felt her smile into his back.

•~~~~•

That's how he ended up in Italy at a nice restaurant where he had booked out their second floor outdoor seating. All the other tables cleared out and just a table for them.

"You know when you promised to take me out somewhere, I didn't think it would be here in Italy." Izanami said dryly.

"I mean, why not?" Raven asked smiling as he sipped his wine. Wasn't half bad, at least for non supernatural wines.

"A fair point I supposed." She said as she took a sip of her own wine. "I just don't see the point of all this." She said waving a hand around.

"Because you're special to me. So why shouldn't I do something special for you?" Raven asked back and she had a small silver blush appear on her face.

"Fine. However recently when I shared my mana with you I noticed something particularly interesting, you have the blessing of my daughter, Amaterasu. How did you stumble upon such a thing?" Izanami asked curiously and he raised an eyebrow.

"Amaterasu, goddess of the sun and universe, right?" Raven asked for clarification and she nodded her head.

"Ah that, well it was probably during the time I was in Japan when I was a child unaware of magic or the supernatural in general. My memories of that time are lacking, or rather have disappeared, I get the barest hints of them, but nothing solid." Raven said simply and she raised an eyebrow at his nonchalance.

"You don't seem particularly effected by that Raven." She said slightly worried.

"Ah, don't worry about that. I've had a decade to worry about it. I've found that getting emotional about it won't fix anything. If my memories come back, cool, if not, I don't think I'm particularly loosing out on anything, except apparently meeting your daughter. Shame on that, she's probably almost as beautiful as you." Raven grinned lewdly at Izanami who glared at him with fiery red cheeks.

After that though, the conversations were kept light, Izanami made a note to herself to go visit her daughter eventually to figure it out. If she'd even talk to her at least…

Raven smiled as he sat in his workshop again, Project Damocles sat hanging on the wall now, ready to be moved back down to the workshop area when needed.

"Project Cosmos. A giant spaceship straight out of fantasy." Raven grinned as he imagined having his own armada of space ships at his beck and call. All battle worthy and ready.

The thought of going to war against an alien species got his blood pumping, the battle junkie in him wanting to throw down with anyone at this moment. He was tempted to just open a portal to Hades and start throwing down.

He pushed it down though, it was working time.

"So to start off I need to design the thrusters to maintain proper strength in orbit, and even have more strength in stronger environments. However I also need to make a way to control the gravity of the ship." Raven mused as he created a metal ball and carved some rune sets on it.

"A core of gravity ought to work, however it needs to be powerful enough to handle everything. Maybe multiple cores for saftey and performance?" Raven mused as he quickly destroyed the ball in his hands as he felt its gravity keep on multiplying past levels even he could hold it up.

"Perhaps I should ask Zelretch to find me a dimension not connected to this planet." He chuckled and decided to work on ship designs, particularly its weapon systems. A mix of magic and non magic.

"Magic plasma launcher? Supercharged magical railguns? Oh, magically enhanced machine guns and rockets." Raven cackled as he imagined the firepower of his future spaceship. Though he also realized he'd have to do a lot of studying to make this bad boy.

Idly he flicked his earring and then paused before cackling as he realized a Shinto goddess gave him a biblical item.

•~~~~•

In a unknown dimension tied to the fae realms a single fae was chained up in a full cold iron body suit, only kept alive by a couple air holes and regular healing for the cold iron poisoning.

His screams could be heard, but most of all, his promises of revenge.

"YOU DAMN LE FAY! YOUR CHILD WILL SUFFER AND YOU WILL WATCH MORGAN LE FAY!"

In the shadows of his cell, a blue and yellow eye watched with an almost childlike glee. Then with a blink they were gone, but a rune sat covered by the shadows.

Hello everyone, hope you enjoyed the chapter, I had originally wrote a 3000 word chapter, but I'll be honest, it didn't feel right to me, just extremely repetitive and boring, so I rewrote it into this and half its length.

Anyways I do hope you enjoyed, ima relax and enjoy the rest of the night and go to bed. I'm tired as hell and got work tomorrow.

Peace out everyone!

Bye~
