Chapter 6 - 6. Specialised Magic!

Kael noted Yuru's curiosity and her puzzled expression. She couldn't quite grasp why having a higher magic level would make learning magic difficult; it seemed counterintuitive to her. "Kael," she asked, "why would having a high magic level make learning magic harder? I thought everyone was taught magic in the same way, regardless of their magic level."

Kael nodded, understanding her confusion. He began to explain, "You're correct that everyone starts with basic magic spells, and that part is the same for everyone. However, as your magical potential increases, the way you learn magic and the complexity of the spells you can master changes. It's because every individual's magic cast is unique."

He continued, "For most magic levels, people have to cast spells verbally. But when it comes to individuals with a white level like yours, there are no set spells you can learn. You have to focus solely on understanding how your magic will interact with the world, how it will influence and react to different situations. It's a highly intuitive and complex process."

(So that's what it is, there are no spell cast for it, so teaching is pretty much impossible. So does that also mean, that if I could think about the spell and how it would interact in the world it will work.)

Yuru absorbed this information but noticed that Kael seemed hesitant. She could see a hint of doubt in his expression. "Kael," she asked, "what's the matter? Are you not going to teach me magic?"

Kael's hesitation was clear, but he replied, "I can teach you some simple magic spells, the basics. But when it comes to advanced or intermediate magic, I'm not qualified for that. Teaching someone with your magical potential requires a more specialised and experienced instructor, and perhaps someone who's in the White Magic level."

Yuru understood Kael's concerns, but she was undeterred in her determination to learn. She spoke to him with a reassuring smile, "Kael, it's alright for now. You can still be my instructor. I don't even know how to use basic magic, so I have a lot to learn."

With a sense of purpose, Yuru then turned her attention to Maya. "Maya," she said, "I would also like you to teach me all the basic magic you know. I want to learn as much as I can."

Kael and Maya exchanged glances, their faces filled with eagerness and happiness at Yuru's determination. They both agreed wholeheartedly to teach her, eager to guide Princess Yuru on her magical journey.

In the following days, Kael dedicated himself to teaching Yuru a variety of basic magic spells. Some were easier for her to grasp than others, but she approached each lesson with determination and persistence. By the end of their sessions, she had learned nearly all the spells that Kael and Maya could impart.

Kael couldn't help but praise Yuru as she flawlessly performed another spell. They took a well-deserved break, and Maya brought in a tray of sweets for Yuru to enjoy.

Yuru thanked Maya with a smile, appreciating the treats. Maya returned the gesture with her own words of praise. "Princess Yuru, you have a remarkable ability to learn magic. You're progressing at an incredible pace."

As the conversation turned to more advanced spells, Maya shared a suggestion. "If you wish to explore more advanced magic, you might consider enrolling in the magic academy. They teach all levels of magic there, and it would be perfect for you."

Yuru pondered this idea, her thoughts centered on the potential of learning advanced spells. However, a shadow of doubt crossed her mind. "The problem with joining an academy is that I don't like being touched by anyone other than my family. It might not be comfortable for me."

Maya understood the concern and nodded sympathetically. "I see your point, Princess. Staying in an academy might pose some challenges for you."

Yuru contemplated the implications of joining the academy. While the prospect of learning advanced magic was appealing, the thought of dealing with potential touch-related issues gave her pause.

Kael interjected gently, "You don't have to make a decision about the academy now, Princess. Admission to the magic academy typically occurs at the age of 15. You have time to think about it, and perhaps we'll find a solution in the future."

Maya echoed Kael's sentiment. "Yes, Princess, there's no need to rush this decision. We'll explore different options and find the best path for you."Yuru felt reassured by their words and knew that, with the guidance of Kael and Maya, she would navigate the challenges that lay ahead.

Listening to them Yuru thought to herself as she looked at Kael and Maya. "These two, they're both wonderful. I can talk to them comfortably. Even if they can't touch me they do their job perfectly."

(Kael, has thought me lots of spells. But not all of them are useful, and I did say that to him. To which he replied saying even when a spell seems useless it can be made useful if combined with another.)

(Some of the spells that I seemed useful are; Levitate, Foresight, Sprint to name the few. Some useful spells thought by Maya are; Water Absorption and Telekinesis (only works with inanimate objects), which can come in handy in some situations. But it seems that they have thought me all the basic spells they knew of, so I have to find some other way of learning spells.)
