Chapter 7 - 7. Outside The Palace!

Yuru walked through the familiar corridors of the royal palace, her mind occupied by the desire to learn more magic spells. She had made impressive progress under Kael and Maya's tutelage, but her thirst for knowledge was insatiable, and she longed for more.

Stopping for a moment, she glanced outside, her gaze fixated on the world beyond the palace walls. "I wonder what's beyond the garden that's always in the view, surrounded by walls. It's hard to imagine, perhaps there can be creatures that I have never seen before." She thought.

It had already been seven years, and she had never stepped foot beyond the palace gates. "Thinking about it, I have only seen humans up till now. Is there other races like orcs or maybe even elfs. That's what I always see in the fantasy books that I used to read. But well, I don't really know." Yuru thought as she sighed thinking about her hazey past life.

---

There was a time when her curiosity had gotten the better of her, and she had asked her mother, the queen, why she couldn't go outside. The queen had responded with a soft smile, "You can go out after you turn 10 years old, my dear." Content with that answer, Yuru had never questioned it again.

But Yuru did wondered "Why only after turning 10 years old, what happens if I try to leave earlier. Well there's no one here to answer that."

But now, as she stood by the window, gazing at the outside world, a sense of curiosity and restlessness overcame her. She wondered if she could sneak out, just once, to see the world beyond the palace's protective walls. The urge to explore the unknown, even before turning 10, was a tempting idea that she couldn't easily dismiss.

(Maybe I could ask Kael for help to sneak out of the royal palace. I know that with his skills and dedication, he could certainly assist me in such an endeavor, even providing protection during the adventure.)

However, another thought weighed heavily on her mind. She understood the consequences of such an action. If Kael were caught helping her break the Royal Order and leaving the palace grounds, the penalty would be severe. Decapitation was the fate that awaited those who dared to defy the edicts of the kingdom.

(If Kael's head got decapitated, they have to look for another attended which they may not find. As I've heard the couldn't find much butler with high magical and combat skills.)

With a heavy heart, Yuru decided to let go of the idea, at least for now. She didn't want to put Kael's life in jeopardy, and the risk was too great. The prospect of exploring the world beyond the palace walls remained a tantalizing dream that would have to wait.

For the time being, Yuru resolved to focus on her magical studies and prepare for the day when she could legally step outside the royal palace.

---

The following night, Princess Yuru stood before the towering palace wall, bathed in moonlight. She was at a crossroads, contemplating whether to carry out her daring plan to climb the wall and catch a glimpse of the outside world, or retreat back to her room and sleep as she should.

(I don't even know what drove me up to this point, but now I'm here.)

Yuru had already gone to great lengths to reach this point. She had sneaked out from her room through the window and used her levitation spell to get here. The thrill of adventure and curiosity urged her forward, and so she decided to climb the wall. After all, she had come this far; it would be a shame not to see what lay beyond.

(I have come this far, so might as well climb the wall and see what's outside.)

(In this part of the area there are no guards, so I should be alright and won't get caught.)

With a focused mind, she concentrated on her levitation spell. Gathering her magical energy, she propelled herself upward, making a daring leap to cross the wall. As she soared higher, she realized it was quite dark, and she couldn't see the outside clearly.

(Well let's see what lays outside.)

But just as she was about to make it to the other side, an invisible force struck her, causing her to be repelled backward. It was the powerful barrier that surrounded the royal palace, a defence mechanism that prevented unauthorised entry.

(Ouch, that took me by surprise. Was that a barrier that repelled me.)

(I have come this far so I'm not giving up just yet.)

Yuru wasn't one to give up easily. She gathered her determination and attempted to break through the barrier with even greater force. However, her efforts were in vain, as she was repelled once again. It seemed that there was no way to penetrate the impenetrable barrier that safeguarded the royal palace.

(That was for nothing, guess I'll go to my room and get some sleep.)
