That night, they talked a lot, from their initial dislike of each other to this moment when he repeatedly risked his life for her. Only then did Aurelia Wood realize how foolish she had been to miss the man who loved her the most.
But now, she was still Arthur Baker's wife. Was she really worth him being so devoted to her?
They talked all night, and she fell asleep beside him.
Upon waking in the morning, Aurelia found herself curled up in his arms, resting on his arm. He was obviously injured, yet she had pushed him to the edge of the bed.
Startled, she hurried to get up, but he tightened his grip, holding her close, "Don't move."
"Let go of me quickly, you might touch your wound like this."
"But I like holding you like this."
"Kevin Gregory…" she was still concerned about his injury.
