"Can I rest a little before going?" Emily asked the maid standing in front of her. Of course that was a stupid question. She won't be allowed to rest or stay in this room while the party is going on.
"No my princess. You can't." Mary shook her head. Emily gulped and her shoulders dropped in disappointment. She just had to do this. Maybe some other time she could run away. Emily stood up while the maids were walking behind her, making sire not to step on her dress.
"Have they been able to bring her back to the palace?" The King of Knoxville, King Diego asked his first wife, Lady Avantica.
"Yes there she is." Lady Avantica pointed to Emily who was walking into the hall. She looked so gorgeous and elegant. Everyone turned their eyes to look at her and began to murmur into each other's ears.
"Luckily no one knows she tried to run away except for the guards and the maids. It would have been a shame if Balder's father heard about it." Lady Avantica heaved a sigh and rubbed her temple. "Goodness." She shook her head.
"So beautiful, I just wish I could make her mine." A man who looked in his mid sixties muttered to himself not knowing his wife who was seated beside him, had heard his words.
"How dare you say that? I am still your lawfully wedded wife. Besides the Princess has her groom there." She pointed to Prince Balder who was starring into the thin air, despite the words of the people with the song of Emily's beauty on their lips. He didn't seem much interested in all that was going on.
What he liked was always going to the battle field and fighting with his strong muscles. Only his parents liked Alexia and not him, no lady interested him. Besides, Alexia was one rude princess he didn't want to handle or have anything to do with, but now that he's getting married to her, he is doing it based on his parents' s insistence.
"She's beautiful, isn't it?" Another man asked his friend who had a smile on his face.
"Yeah, she is so pretty but remember you have a wife at home." His friend reminded him.
"I know, fool! You don't have to remind me. My bones....." He caressed his back. "They all ache due to the thorough beating she gave to me yesterday."
"That's more like a lesson for you. You're too promiscuous." His Friend replied him and looked away when he saw the frown on the man's face.
"Don't flare up. That's the truth." He muttered to himself.
Emily was trying to compose herself from falling. She had even fell down the other time but luckily the guests didn't see her. She managed to raise her chin and look courageous like a princess which she wasn't.
"I just hate seeing that spoilt brat!" Princess Anne said to her sister who was sitting beside her. They both are the daughters of Lady Nina, the third wife of King Diego Norixville.
"Me too, she always get on my nerves, sister, father loves her more than us. I just hate her!" Princess Bella replied her sister, with hatred in her eyes.
None out of the children of the other wives liked Alexia, and she didn't like them too. The only person who was fond of her was Prince Edward, her young brother.
He is a funny type and though he is the heir to the throne, he doesn't behave like one. He isn't interested in ruling Norixville, he likes women and loves to play around.
"Can't you see sister? She's so pretty." Prince Edward whispered into Prince Damon's ear. Damon is the second son of Lady Nina, the third wife of King Diego.
"Brother." Damon tsked, shaking his head. Speaking about Damon, he is the quiet type, he doesn't like talking unlike Edward who is a talkative.
"Just keep mute as the celebration continues or I'll have to change my seat." Damon rolled his eyes at Edward.
"What a brother!" Edward pouted, picking up the glass of wine in front of him and gulping it down at once. "Wow, it tastes so nice."
"Don't get drunk or your mother would scold you. As the future heir who would be laying his big butt on the throne, you shouldn't disgrace yourself and especially the royal family by getting drunk. Behave yourself, okay?" Damon advised him with a sly smile on his face.
Edward tightened his fists in anger, he just hates this guy so much. "Who told you I plan to get drunk. You little pumpkin!"
Damon hit his hand on the table in front of him angrily but it wasn't too loud as it didn't draw anyone's attention. Who would hear though? They were busy drinking, eating and chatting.
"We can't start a fight here. You are an honourable Prince and so I am." Damon replied with a smirk.
"I can just enjoy thus wedding party without you, Damon. You're just like your mother."
"Hey you! How dare you mention my mother!" Damon yelled slightly but Edward just laughed and walked away. Sure that was a very good retaliation.
Edward took a seat beside a lady and soon she began to laugh and it pissed Damon off.
"He loves ladies too much. I just hate him! I can't believe he'll be sitting on the throne. The throne suits me and no one else." He fumed in anger, clenching his fists.
Meanwhile, Emily was now sitting beside Balder who didn't pay much attention to her, he noticed she was calm. 'This is so odd.' He thought.
"Hi." Emily simply said to Balder. She couldn't deny the fact that he was so handsome. He looked so much like an Angel on earth.
'I have never seen anyone as handsome as him.' Emily thought, stuck some strands of her hair behind her ear.
"Mm." Balder replied. He isn't intersection in starting a conversation with her now.
"You're Prince Balder, right?" Emily asked , earning a strange look from him. What was it with the question she's asking him now? Is she joking, pulling his legs or her memory has vanished? Only if he knew she wasn't Alexia but Emily, a labourer and nothing close to a princess.
"It's our wedding, stop joking and focus." Balder replied, without looking at her.
Emily kept shut and focused as he had said. Explaining to him would make no sense.
