I pulled my wife down as we continued to kiss. The cool earth and flattened reeds yielded beneath us, but neither of us cared about the damp chill rising from the ground. Nora gasped softly into my mouth when my back hit the lakeside grass and I tugged her fully down across my chest, but the surprise lasted only a heartbeat before her hands found their way into my hair, her fingers winding tight through my wavy snow-white hair.
Her lips were soft against mine, moving with a sweet, frantic familiarity born of nearly eight centuries of shared life.
I flipped her around and reached for my shirt, but she slapped my hand away with her own.
