I grumbled as I rose from bed. My entire body ached from last night. As soon as we had returned to the castle, my husband let his inner lion out. He ravaged me like he had during our first night centuries ago. It made me wonder if I might end up baring him another child at this old age.
I groaned inwardly, pressing the back of my hand against my heated forehead. A thirteenth child at nearly eight hundred years old. Just the thought of it made my head spin. We already had great-great-grandchildren running through the halls of the royal palace, yet here I was, entertaining the absurd possibility of nursing another little lion because I let him loose.
I glanced at him and saw his chocolatey skin was marked with red spots. Faint red scratches covered his broad back and shoulders where I had held him as I let him please me.
