The air shifted as we returned to the island with the cavern leading to the nexus. The scent of ozone and frost mixed with the heavy, metallic taste of lingering blood.
Amelia gulped "Yukihina must be in trouble!"
Suddenly, a portal like the one Bulgae had fled through opened up. A single golden eye peered through, its gaze sharp and piercing.
"Wait! I recognize that eye," I said as I stumbled forward.
"Would hope so, 'Son'," Reginald said as he stepped though the portal. "You look terrible, you know? The Abyss seems to have drained you dry."
I narrowed my eyes at him. This was the man controlling my father. How I wanted to slice him to pieces and give Pa back control.
"Are you sure you don't wish to surrender? As my 'son' I can allow you and your family to live here, peacefully."
"Like I would turn my back on Zionia," I growled.
"Your Zionia was never at peace, was it?" He said, shaking his head. "But you know this well."
