Leonardo PoV
I poured holy water over the Queen of Kasai no Ki's wound. The burn reacted differently than demon inflicted wounds, turning black instead of red, and melting like dark goo instead of bubbling from the water. The scent though was still like that of sulfur.
Her husband sat at her bedside and held her hand, his eyes dull from exhaustion and concern.
Yukihina had fallen asleep on one of the couches after being forced to take a healing potion. She had yet to wake, but her breath was stable. I didn't see any wounds on her. Maybe she was simply exhausted. That or something more sinister had befallen her.
I sighed and put the cork back on the bottle of holy water before standing. The others sat in the chairs and couches of the reception hall.
"Okay. I must ask. What happened?" I asked.
Amelia sighed and stared at her sleeping husband. Vadim had fallen asleep as soon as he sat down, his head on her lap.
