Chapter 573 - Chapter 573: Silence

As the group approached Kabanaska, half in weary and half in concerning anticipation, the bright light displayed becomes a beacon, a sign to keep their guard up. Their eyes widened and were shielded by whatever was on them, wondering what happened to make such a thing. As the light dimmed, the group looked amongst one another and try to evaluate what to do. A small glance over would let the others see Harvard blocking for Applin, seeing him already took notice of the small burns coming from her skin. Such light must've been stronger, if it was able to penetrate through such natural defenses. Cautious, the group kept going. As soon as they arrived, it was utter silence. As if the world went dead, nary a peep nor a step would be audible. It was deafening how quiet it was, with Koina reaching out to act as bait to stifle some level of interaction.

Nothing came up.

"Oh this is weird..." She'd comment. "...Did we came in when they're asleep? I thought Stoken was the one who sleeps in the day..." Tsukiya's eyes widened upon hearing her mention its name, confused how she knows it. Enenra, however, placed a hand on her shoulder, a silent exchange in that she's a part of Orochi at the end of the day, even if she wished to rebel it. Such kingdoms working together under Sozo would've been knowledgeable on each other with enough time. As they explored further, Harvard was quick on using a Potion to help Applin up, looking over his friends and nudging his head to see if they can separate, letting all five explore on their own while the adults remained occupied. As they broke off, he'd give a whisper to them all, one that would make them question what exactly this Kingdom was supposed to be.

"It's just like Synoni, isn't it? It looks so clean and... fake." He'd ask, pointing his fingers to the walls. The little vampiress was confused as to why he would say such words, moreso when she saw the others pick up on it, nudging to the front to see what he was talking about. Despite the pristine look and the sleek metal, it looked crooked. As if the shape was dented, welded accidentally. It looks real, but it doesn't. An uncanny valley between genuine art and misshaped architect. Solomon and Zazel tried to use their magic onto the walls, letting Shady scale up it and Eligos being born on them. The very act of placing something on those walls made it creak, the 'weight' too much to bear. Both immediately called back their styles to prevent it from collapsing and crushing whoever or whatever was inside. Was this supposed to be a Kingdom? "...Yeah, as I thought. This looks like some sort of front. Didn't Tsukiya said people were being weird with girls here? How does this even work...?" He'd ask again, keeping his voice down as they kept going.

Meanwhile, Koina still walked in front to buy out whoever was still up, even making small taps and scratches with her dagger to raise some noise and bring them out. Nothing was able to respond. It was like a Ghost town, yet she could still at least sense there was someone in the area. Bringing her ear close to one of the walls, her heightened ears would be able to hear out the small shifting in beds, the pillows crumpling under the head's weight. They were asleep, deep ones too, if her own actions didn't bother to bring them up. "...We're gonna have to scream if we want their attention. They're dead quiet." She'd state. Tsukiya would get an idea exactly what's going on, her senses up high, as she taps on Enenra to see if she can be floated up.

"Absolutely not." The Smoke Man stated.

"C'mooon~. If anything, you gave your life out for my place. It's fair enough if I do the same, Waow!" Her voice nearly made someone rose up, the creaking from the bed audible in the quiet, remaining still until the person went back down to rest. Enenra sighed as he'd follow along, even as his body resents assisting someone like her, a visible face growling softly, before being tempered and controlled by its host. Small puffs of smog rose, letting the Kitsune climb it up like a ladder to the very top, watching over the many people below and having her hands reach for the sky. As she did, she'd feel something. A Barrier, wrapped around the kingdom like a bowl, sealing it off from the outside world. It was like a massive dome, no true sign made out from here to the other kingdoms, an illusion of the forests made on the dome to prevent being discovered well. Noting this, she'd get started on taking parts of her dress and scatter it, talismans lining up against the illusionary veil, raising concern immediately on Enenra's end, his mouth forming on the clouds.

"Hold on a second, aren't they from your clothes? What's gonna happen if you run out?" He'd ask, a giggle being heard at raising such a reasonable question.

"What, afraid your 'crush' is a bit show-y?" She'd tease back, bringing ire to the Smoke Man, before noticing that she was wearing something underneath her standard white kimono. Much like her highlights, it was a standard pink blouse and long skirt, small patterns visible to represent a myth. Silhouettes of a cave, where a woman with the sun for a head emerged out and watched others provide both dance, food, and gifts to let her out. "Hehehe! You thought I was gonna be naked, weren't you?"

"WH- Absolutely not! Why would I- Why would you- What- Shut up!" The smoke burns up, a warm color coming out from the smog, as the mouth drifted to the opposite side to avoid further speaking. Another giggle came out from the Kitsune as she'd loom her head over to the mouth.

"Heeeey, don't worry! Ever since my first visit here, I always wear two sets of clothing when I go out. The Kimono's really loose here, anyway, so they would've seen my dress regardless."

"Why pink, then?"

"Why not pink? Pink's a nice color!"
