Chapter 572 - Chapter 572: My Sun

The sun rose as high as the trees allowed, as the people in the Kingdom gave their praise. A man in gold and white emerged out from a large tower, his arms raised up to let the voices roar, a smile on his face that matched the light above. "Hahahaa~. People of Kabanaska. It is with upmost great enthusiasm that I am proud to announce... Our brand new SUN!"

Snap!

With one snap of his fingers, the ordinary castle that laid dormant opens up. Like a flower ready to bask in such rays, the stonework parted and exposed a massive orb in its center, its radiance and heat unmatched. Many people would try to either go for cover or wear ointments to bounce off the UV radiation, as their King stands tall behind it. Numerous cheers were heard from all sides, marveling at the majesty and might they've been able to discover. Years worth of progress, all surmounted into this one achievement. "As you have already know, we have been 15 years into this project for the sole purpose of out-living our own sun when it explodes. As it stands now, it is only large enough to be held within our kingdom, the metallic binds and shiny steel our evidence. However, we have already received word to get improvements, to increase its size, to increase its mass, and make it nearly overshadowed by every other kingdom in this side of the equator!" His shouts boomed and echoed as the sizzling star remained by his side, cheers and squeals of excitement audible as they hear such news. He basked in it as much as he basked in the solar rays, savoring the moment, before raising his arms and lowering them slowly to lower their volume. "All we need... is your support. Your energy. Offer it to our new Sun. Offer it the warmth you have. The warmth of your joys. The warmth of your food. The warmth of your loved ones. Lend me your energy, and we can make our sun shine brighter than anything else this world can offer!"

In that moment, the people responded in tandem, their arms raised, the glow coming from their bodies absorbed into the light, slowly draining it down to half, a small sparkle, a sign that his words held truth, as what every other word he speaks has always been. Some were beginning to be weary, in which they'd lower their hands down and slouch against the buildings or structures nearby. As they gave their efforts and were left in a daze, the King was able to clap for them, as the castle closed itself back into its dormant state. "Excellent! Excellent!! My people in Kabanaska are truly grateful, and my deepest thanks go out to you. All of you. Your contribution is greatly appreciated, and so long as you continue to give such contributions, may God bless all of you with whatever you wish to hold dear. Now have your rest, have your food, have your fill. You've truly given me heart, today." He'd declare, as the crowd gave its applause and small shouts, their smiles still visible even in their drifting state. He'd make his way back to the Tower, his smile still plastered for knowing his words alone were enough to convince his populace, that his role will not be challenged.

Below, the Star would be lowered. Deeper and deeper into the earth, a complex prepared for the brilliant minds of the Kingdom. Two janitors would be seen cleaning up the floors, the bright red stains soaked in water and washed away. Once they saw the 'sun' come back down, the two bickered at one another. "Sooooo, any idea why Wyvros was making that thing? Surely he's not serious with 'replacing the sun', right?" One asked.

"We're talking about a guy who owns whole record labels based ON the sun. I think he's genuine." The other replied, unamused by such skeptisicm

"Record Labels?? As in... actual songs??? Does he worship that big ball of gas?"

"Again, based ON the sun. You're answering your own question here."

"What about what's going on down here? What, do we not get a luxury with the 'sun' project?"

"Project Helios is, according to him, something that's supposed to be given by everyone. Regardless if they die to it or not, it's a solution cooked up for nothing else than praise and devotion over a one in a million chance. Frankly, I doubt he's holding his end on that..."

BANG!!!

A massive slam against the wall, a groan and a hack, as if it was spewing for hours, desperately asking for water. A Signal was triggered by one of the Custodians to make the scientists give it such attention, ensuring whatever noises it was making quiets down. "And what about them? They can't be able to go outside, can they? We'd be dead men!"

"Yeah, IF we're involved with it. We're not someone directly contributing to the experimentations. We're only witnesses working small labors to get food on the table. Those that are high above us and make those decisions? Yeah, that's on them. That's if we have someone willing to expose everything here."

"You think someone's willing to do that?"

"Well, reports are going rampant 'bout a kid who's trying to save folks by blowing things up. I have faith..." The second man continues on with his job, being ready to clock out and leave once he finishes mopping the floors, leaving the other man with the swelling 'sun', his mind wandering and pondering on what to do in this situation. As the kingdom came and went, guards were placed around to shield the divine rays, panels upon panels of reflective mirrors to catch and refract them, letting it be situated and shuttered like a shell. In such grandiose performance, however, such a light was visible to everyone in the circle, a perfect beacon for the likes of Harvard and his allies to spot, a perfect chance to properly be acquainted with the 'Forbidden Kingdom', and to discover what other perverse secrets are hiding within.
