"Just leave the rest to the two of us. I will take care of Andrina's matter!" Han Jin said confidently. It seemed that he was quite excited after mentally talking to her.
"That's right, we'll do it right, rest assured!" Andrina said with a smile. She often glanced at Han Jin as she spoke.
Han Jin was more familiar with the layout of Pandemonium. Back when Han Shuo had created the various formations within it, Han Jin and the others had helped, so apart from Han Shuo, Han Jin and the other four knew Pandemonium best.
With him helping Andrina, Han Shuo believed that she would be able to realise her greatest potential. Seeing the two of them so confident, he let them do as they pleased. "Alright, I have some things to take care of as well."
He told Han Jin a few last things he needed to take care of regarding certain special formations before leaving the modification and improvement of the various energy towers to the couple.
When Zovic arrived, he told Han Shuo that the Godhunter Alliance forces had entered Pandemonium. Tyre, Logue, Wasir and Ossora could launch a joint attack at any time.
The Godhunter Alliance Hegemons seemed more powerful and united than ever, which didn't bode well for the Fringe Sovereigns. It will be an uphill battle for the Sovereigns, to say the least.
But Han Shuo knew they had their own trump cards. They had spent years fortifying the Fringe, and as long as they could use the terrain properly, setting up powerful formations in strategic locations, they could deal the invaders a devastating blow and still have a chance of winning the war.
Logue's Osteoburg, for example, contained intense elements of death, thanks to the centuries of work he had put into it. Logue would be far more powerful inside Osteoburg and could possibly defeat Tyre there, as he had long since become one with the death energy there.
If the Godhunters were to invade Osteoburg, Logue could use Osteoburg to increase the strength of his Highgod subordinates to the point where a group of them could repel an Overgod of his level. And if Logue and his Highgods worked together, they might even be able to destroy an Overgod altogether.
The same could be said for Tyre, Wasir and Ossora. As long as they make good use of their advantages and create some opportunities, they would definitely fare much better in battle and have a chance of winning.
Upon reaching the bottom of Pandemonium, Han Shuo located Han Hao's replacement and asked, "How long will it take for your main body to return?"
"I'm already in the fringe. I should arrive in three more days," Little Skeleton replied after some thought.
Nodding, Han Shuo said, "I am spying on Dagmar and the others using a demon general that has a stalk of my consciousness attached to it. At the moment, they are still recovering. I believe they won't enter Pandemonium for at least ten days to half a month. With you, your brothers, Andrina, Sanguis and the rest here, Dagmar and his mates won't be able to break through our defences so easily."
"Are you going somewhere?" Han Hao stared blankly for a moment before realising something from Han Shuo's words and asked.
"Yes. I'm going out for a while. Don't worry, I'll be back as soon as this matter is settled. With your skills and the Pandemonium's defensive power, Dhaka and the others won't be able to break through the Pandemonium easily. It'll be fine!"
"Go ahead. I'll take good care of this place."
After informing Little Skeleton about the use of various formations in Pandemonium and how to operate them, Han Shuo felt safe enough to go on his errand.
...
In the Frost Cavern on Glacial Peak, Wasir sat cross-legged like an ice sculpture, letting the biting cold envelop him.
A figure entered the Frost Cavern and respectfully announced, "Lord, we have received word that the Hegemons of the Space and Destiny Dominions are on their way!
The ice surrounding him suddenly cracked and shattered into countless pieces as Wasir emerged from it. Powerful glacial energy leaked from him as he was reanimated. His energy seemed to have become one with the Frost Cavern itself.
"Angelo, are you sure about this?" he finally asked after warming up a bit.
Angelo, who was also cultivating water energy, took a few steps back. The cold emanating from Wasir was so terrifying that even he couldn't bear it. "I am sure. They are heading for Glacial Peak. The two Hegemons on the way are also said to be the most mysterious. No one knows their true power. What shall we do?"
"Space... destiny..." Wasir furrowed his brow as if thinking of something very important. "Hegemons who cultivate in these arcane edicts will undoubtedly be something to look forward to. It's said that the Edict of Destiny is the most mysterious of the Twelve Fundamental Powers. There are only a few Edict of Fate cultivators in the world who have reached the Highgod realm, so those who have must be truly mysterious and impressive. I wonder what kind of power these Hegemons will have!"
"Lord, those who cultivate space energy are also very powerful! When they reach the Overgod stage, they will be able to invade the Ice Peak without anyone noticing. Should we make preparations?" Angelo was quite worried. Though Wasir was powerful, he was only one man, but two supposedly powerful Hegemons were on their way. He didn't know if Wasir alone could handle them.
"Any preparation I can make has been done," Wasir said, knowing what Angelo meant by his question. "Those of us who cultivate the energy of water should remain as cool as ice even in the face of overwhelming threat. If you want to advance to the next level, you must remember not to be afraid or panic, even if you're about to die!"
""Thank you for your teachings, Lord!" Angelo was truly grateful as he looked at Wasir in awe.
Of the five Sovereigns of the Fringe, Wasir was the most difficult to deal with, but he was famous for one particular trait. Any Water Energy cultivator would be able to make tremendous progress after receiving crucial tips from him.
Even for someone like Angelo, who was at the Late-stage of the Highgod realm and had the potential to improve to Wasir's level through his teachings, he would generously give cultivation advice without reservation. It was as if he wasn't afraid that his subordinates would become more powerful than him.
It was also because of this that most of the water energy users from the Twelve Divine Dominions would join him when they came to the Fringe.
"You may leave now. Tell them they no longer need to stand guard outside Glacial Peak and let them enter the Frost Cavern. Activate all the energy towers to gather all the glacial aura around the peak. As for those who don't cultivate in Water Energy, let them retreat to the mountains for now," Wasir ordered.
Angelo nodded and left to spread the word. But before Wasir's men could carry out the order, a large space-time rift suddenly appeared above Glacial Peak. Countless figures emerged from the rift and landed on Glacial Peak before searching for their target.
"Wasir, I can predict your every move. There is no way you can win this. Although your fate is sealed, that of your subordinates is not. Leave your glacial peak and talk to us if you don't want them to perish with you," said an old woman with a pentagram mark on her chest. She was holding a bright green crystal ball. Her voice rang with a mysterious cadence that lingered in the air of Glacial Peak.
As she spoke, more and more figures emerged from the rift, until an old man with long eyebrows stepped out and drew the rift shut like a curtain.
"Wasir, with Mascy predicting your actions and me sealing the surrounding space, you won't stand a chance, not even of escaping," the old man said smiling. He walked over to the Frost Cavern and raised his arms, causing space-time itself to twist and ripple.
Although Angelo and the others wanted to take refuge in the cave, they suddenly realised that the nature of space there had changed. They couldn't move at all and couldn't do what Wasir had told them to do.
"One to predict my actions and the other to lock the space itself. You two may be the most powerful combination I've ever seen! I must be very lucky!" Wasir said from inside the cave. He was standing at the entrance, staring coldly at the two leaders.
"Wasir, not only is your fate sealed, but the fate of the Fringe is sealed as well!" said the old crone called Mascy solemnly and loftily, her fingers resting on her crystal ball. It was as if she held the fate of all in her hands.
"You're not an Overgod!" Wasir said suddenly after staring intently at Mascy.
"Those who cultivate in the Edict of Destiny..." Mascy said as she pointed in the direction of the Destiny Dominion, "...have never become an Overgod, or even a Demi-Overgod, except for this person! No exceptions! We're not like you; you can reach the Overgod realm without a Quintessence, but we'll remain Highgods forever!"
After a pause, Mascy chuckled. "But that's more than enough..." She frowned as her crystal ball suddenly glowed. "Dennis! Act now! He seems to be waiting for someone... someone my premonition can't predict!"
