Chapter 9 - Daily Exercise ©

"That's still a great amount" David said with a smile as he relaxed into the couch.

In just the span of five days he had completely changed his life all because of one single edit. Looking around the small house, David felt an overwhelming sense of fulfillment

"By the way, Nous?"

[Sir?] Nous answered as the standard five inch figure manifested in the air before him

"I've been thinking if the event is as dangerous as i think it would be then wouldn't it be best to increase my personal power" David said

He didn't exactly know where he was going with this because last he checked, Earth was one of the most normal planets there could ever be.

Every sighting or confirmation of the supernatural has always been debunked, there were no people flying around unassisted or on swords or geography that changed overnight.

[That is an excellent decision, would you like me to compile a training exercise to boost your physical capabilities to its peak]

"The world really is normal huh?" David commented disappointed,

Somehow he expected that there were hidden schools somewhere with sects and mages and all that but instead he could an optimized exercise routine

[Then would you like me to prepare a proper cultivation manual for you] Nous suddenly asked

"Wait, am I right?" David asked as a certain fear suddenly rose up in him.

[You are, however, this world is more complex than you think] Nous said before David felt a set of information flowing into his mind.

Turns out as he had thought there were secret societies that wielded magical abilities and all but things were a bit more different than he thought.

There weren't people flying around or geographies that change overnight because human eyes couldn't sense such things in the first place and all damage caused by such being were corrected as soon as their battles ended.

"So there can be a cultivator in front of me and i wouldn't be able to tell"

"Wait, if millions die during a fight and then they are restored, people would surely notice, logically this should include buildings, mountains, people would surely notice" David reasoned.

[Logically, however that is how the heavenly laws have always functioned] Nous said but David felt that something was wrong

"Why does this feel like an edit? An editor in the past must have done this" David said.

The more he thought about it, the more it didn't make sense, it was too abnormal to be normal, if normal humans couldn't perceive whatever energy it was that these people used then how do they replenish their ranks.

By the logic presented they wouldn't even exist in the first place since there would be no one who could sense the very energy required for them to achieve their power.

The only explanation was that an edit must have been made to protect the people while letting the superpowered society remain secret and separate.

"Wait does that mean that even the Akashic Record cant detect when an edit is made"

[If it was an edit then it would explain why i would have no knowledge of it, Edits made by an editor are law, they aren't changes, they are corrections to reality itself] Nous suddenly added making David nod even more.

That made sense but then this also meant that there was a superpowered side to the world that he didn't know about. This knowledge brought a sense of fear and also excitement to him.

"So then would you be able to create a path to power for me, as you said, the Editor is a position, i can use its authority but its not my personal power right?" David asked

[Creating a cultivation art tailored to an editor would be difficult as you are not fundamentally human, however it would be beneficial if you wish to take such a route]

"Then go ahead, design one for me"

[As you wish sir, however please know that this could take from a day, up to a week to be completed] Nous replied

"Why"

[My liege is not fundamentally human, you may look human and still experience life as one but you are the Editor, it may just be a job position as you put it but those who can gain such a position are elevated spiritually, physically and mentally.. It would me a while to thorough analyse your being to create a suitable technique]

"Oh" David replied as a secret sense of pride arose in him.

Following his reply, David saw a small loading screen appeared at the corner of his eye. He could tell that this was the analysis progress bar for Nous on him.

"Anyway about that exercise routine, let's do that in preparation" David said as he stood up.

Even if it wouldn't give him power beyond just getting him in shape, it was better than nothing for now. With that thought in mind, David immediately wore some appropriate clothes to allow air flow as he made his way to the house garage for the exercise.

As soon as he got to the garage and after some basic stretches Nous generated a hologram version of him that he was to follow.

Though there was no equipment involved, David found the routine challenging, enough that at the end, he could barely feel his legs and his entire body was aching.

While David staggered to get some rest, elsewhere around the world, two boys could be seen in their living room as both were glued to their phones.

"Bro, have you seen this website?" a young man said as he called to his friend, who was sitting on the couch behind him.

"What is it now?" The friend replied, clearly uninterested.

"I found this video on TikTok; they claim they will be able to turn text into images," the man said as he turned to the screen of his monitor towards the friend.

"Wait, is it that Nous A.I. stuff?"

"Yeah? Wait, how did you know?"

"It's viral on TikTok; have you tried it yet?" The friend asked as he left the couch to stand behind his friend.

"Nope, I just saw it; have you seen their game?"

"Yeah, but I doubt the game is as good as they claim; it's a common thing amongst all these gaming companies," the friend replied.

"I know right, but let's hope that this one is different. I'm surprised they haven't released the game either. It's loaded"

"You should really get better Wi-Fi."

With that, the focus of the two changed from the Nous games to the newly loaded website. The website was as straightforward as they come—beautiful but still straightforward. With merely a glance, they could tell where they needed to click to achieve their aim or go to the pages they needed.

Seconds later, they were on the Nous A.I. image generator page, and the two just stood staring at the screen in confusion because they had no idea what to input into the text box. They were just testing it for testing's sake and nothing else.

"Try a fish-dog hybrid in sexy Christmas wear," the friend suddenly said, interrupting the silence in the room.

"What? What the fuck is wrong with you?" The man asked as he began to laugh at how random the prompt was. The friend too joined in on the laughter, knowing how dumb what he said was. The two laughed at how random his prompt was but still ended up putting it into the text box, and within seconds, they were faced with images of what they had requested.

"Holy sh*t, it actually works," they shouted in shock.

"Wait, try this," the man said as he put in a new prompt, only for the website to generate the image they wanted. The two spent several minutes simply inputting every prompt they thought to be impossible for the AI image generator to pull off; however, the AI just continued generating each image in a manner that was closely related to the prompt put in.

"Wait, I'm coming," his friend said before rushing to the couch to get his phone.

Bringing up something on the screen of his phone, the friend placed his phone down and began to type in something from his phone. The man looked at his friend's actions and immediately realized what he was doing. "Bro, would it even be able to do it? It's just an image generator; how do you expect it to generate a logo?"

"We'll see," the friend said before tapping the enter key.

The two waited in anticipation since if the AI could do this, it would change a lot for them.

Well, depending on how well the AI does, they may only take it as inspiration, or they will use it as the final product. Within seconds, the AI was done processing, and a series of images appeared, much to the surprise of the two. They both stood or sat there looking at the screen in shock. They knew that it was an image generator, and a logo was technically just an image, but this was a game changer.

"Try the other design," the man said immediately, as excitement crept onto their faces.

Immediately, they began to try everything they could think of without even a hint of holding back. The AI stopped them when it came to anything spicy, but otherwise, it was fair game.

They weren't the only ones in this situation, as hundreds, if not thousands, of other people all around the world were introduced to this new service and found it interesting. Many reviews of its service appeared online from many content creators, and many students used it to escape the bothersome assignments given to them.

Nous's creation had brought about a whole new level of convenience for them, and they intended to take full advantage of it, especially now that they could.
