Chapter 11 - Plans ©

"684 billion naira… can i even finish that amount of money in a lifetime" David asked himself

It was a stupid question, even a billion naira would technically last him a lifetime but then again he didn't ask Nous to create Renovatio without any future plans for it.

"There is no use mopping at the amount, Nous can you get to work with a blueprint for a new Nous Studios campus… since we already took over gaming, we might as well do the same to every sub-industry under entertainment" David said as he suddenly stood up.

No matter how he thought about it, he had already set out on this path then it was best to see it to the end, beside he would be the person gaining at the end of the day and nothing else.

[Working on it sir, is there anything else you may need?] Nous asked

"I don't know" David said as he looked around his small apartment

Truly when they said that when the bird gets big enough, it flies out of the coup.

"Maybe look into housing, I have the money now so let's move" David said with a smile as he went to tidy up

[I will do so sir]

"I am sure there are bound to be some good ones here in Abuja"

[There are many but would you like the normal ones or the spicy ones?]

Hearing the AI, David immediately turned to look at the hologram that was standing on his couch.

That sentence sounded very weird but then looking at the person who had made the sentence, David could tell that it was somehow related to the housing topic.

"Spicy please" David replied with a weird smile

Completely matching the weird atmosphere that was going on but he didn't care much.

Nous was designed to have his best interest at heart no matter the circumstance so he didn't have to worry about anything.

[Okay sir, here are a list of estates that have being seized by the government from criminals, gangs, cartels and even corrupt politicians]

As Nous spoke, a holographic window appeared before him and on it was a long list that numbered in the hundreds.

Some of them didn't have a price but Nous went through the trouble to add an estimated price.

However even the most expensive was at most 800 Million Naira, with his current wealth, that was nothing.

However it wasn't the price that worried him, it was the properties themselves.

The cheapest cost was around 127 million naira and was a hotel that was seized from a criminal gang… it was a 10 story building and occupied a land area of about 12 acres in total.

"I understand that I now have the power to edit reality but I am still weak.. Why would we go and challenge a gang?" David asked.

He now understood what Nous meant by spicy estates, it was a common practice amongst governments. They seize a property then auction it out to generate more revenue for the state or their own pockets.

However the only downside to such a thing was that after the property is sold, there is a very high chance that the gang or person it was seized from would try to reclaim it either legally or by other means.

In the case of these houses and the fact that he was in Nigeria, he was sure that they wouldn't even bother with legal means because it wouldn't take them anywhere.

In countries like Nigeria, cases weren't won by Lawyers, it's the amount of money in your pocket.. Unless there was some unexpected miracle.

[I have taken that into account, the list contains only estates that those who could claim it are either deceased or the property is forgotten] Nous replied

Hearing it, David turned back to the list and immediately began to scroll more and more.

As Nous had said, each estate had a short description that explained its situation.

The hotel had been seized but all the members of the gang had died in some shootout.

This trend continued but there were a few that died of natural causes or were just properties that the government had built but due to terrible paperwork management, said building has been relegated to such a state.

However from number 50 and above the properties began to get ridiculous.

They had hectares of land, one was a failed resort, one was a full blown town as of now which also meant that some legal maneuvering was required to acquire that.

There was even a home with a helipad and a compound that occupied around 2 hectares of land.

"It's surprising that the price is this cheap even if they had been ignored and left for a long time." David noted.

The most expensive and the one he had most interest in was a literal mountain.

Apparently some foreign Military General in the past had used it as a safe house to escape prosecution.

Rather than just build a house like a sane person, they had bought the entire mountain.. Marking it all as a single property.

The mountain had several facilities that fit the story of its creation. Airstrips, helipads, barracks etc

The entire total area of the mountain according to Nous was around 120 hectares and yet there were a little around 9 hectares that were developed.

As for the chance of the general or his followers coming for him, it was none because they were all dead and the property had been in the possession of the Nigerian government for over 10 years now.

Yet it was being sold for only 800 million naira, that was only $2.1 Million. For such facilities, David's worst guess still put it around $20 million and above.

[Sir they have no choice but to sell cheaper, real estate prices are affected by a lot of things especially the origin of said property] Nous explained

"True" David noted.

Even removing the origin of the property, Nigerians were a very suspicious bunch. This was a pseudo military set up hidden in the mountains.

It was the perfect set up for rumors and stories to brew around which in turn meant that any foreign or even local investor would look away.

The way he saw it, the only people that would be interested in the property would be people like the general or people who had something to hide.

He, on the other hand, had nothing to hide… Nous was perfectly hidden in his ring and his abilities as an Editor weren't exactly hidden on his face.

"Anyway then let's also get into contact with a construction company as well, you can work on a blueprint then a budget… I Think we would probably spend more money than anticipated for this"

[By estimate, if we follow your grand idea, it would cost around 5 Billion Naira to complete] Nous replied

"But it would be worth it, wouldn't it?" David asked

Compared to the amount 5billion naira was nothing so he didn't need to think much of it and even if he thought about reinvestment.

90% of the total amount was to be reinvested into growing Nous Studios and that was a total of 615 billion naira.

The remaining 10% was for his private use and even then that was 68 billion naira. He had way more than enough to finish the project.

[It would be, sir though the estimated time of completion is 90 days]

"90 days.. That's eoughly three months right?"

[Yes sir]

"That's okay then, let's begin.. I'll even have 2 more edits by then" David said with a smile

[As you wish] Nous replied

"That's good, now let's go shopping," David said.

He had made a large amount of money so now it was time to actually look the part, Accepting his order, Nous immediately ordered for an uber while David himself got ready

At the same time, he contemplated moving to a newer place to pass this time but at the end of the day, a house was a house. He may have the money now, but that doesn't mean that he should just change his place of residence just because he could.

Soon the uber arrived and David was on his way to one of the biggest superstores in Nigeria. Arriving at the venue, David could see the name of the hypermarket written in bold on the side of it, Shoprite.

The rumors say they sold everything here but naturally that was wrong but then again, rumors had some root in reality. He was here solely because of that… well and also because though it was expensive, he had the money now.

"Thank you," David said as he came down from the vehicle

"Okay sir, abeg call me when you finish oo, i go wait you" the driver said as he turned off his driver app and immediately got ready to rest.

[Sir, bring him along]

"Eh?" David paused

"Are you mad? I just met him why should i be spending money on him?" he questioned as silently as he could

[Sir you do know that we are connected mentally and also this is a recommendation based on his personality, he is the loyal type, a trait that is not so rare in Nigeria but given the circumstances and his talents, he is a very good person to have a subordinate] Nous explained
