Chapter 90 - Driver

The car looked normal on the surface, but anyone who looked deeper would be able to find many modifications to the car that helped to increase its speed and other aspects.

The window scrolled down as a man wearing a suit and a driver's cap looked out toward the figure standing there. "Diablo?"

The figure standing there was Tiffany, who was in the alternative body named Diablo.

She looked over the man in the car as he rolled down the window before approaching. "That is me. You must be Carr."

Her voice modulator worked to make her voice change enough so that it was not like her usual voice and sounded more androgynous, so that her gender could not be so easily identified.

Carr nodded calmly as his gaze turned back toward the steering wheel.

The window went back up slowly as his voice could be heard. "The back door is open. Get in. Do you know the rules?"

Tiffany controlled the body of Diablo as she walked to the side door at the back of the car, allowing her to slide into the back seat, where there was a lot of space. "Yes. No smoking. No eating. No pulling out weapons. Wear a seatbelt."

There was a long list of different rules that were in place to ensure that Carr was able to do his job a lot more efficiently and safely, but there were some that were in place to prevent any mess or damage in his car.

When taking on fewer legal transportation jobs, the risk involved was usually much greater.

The people being transported would not always be so cooperative, especially under more stressful situations or if they suddenly thought it was a good idea to try and steal the car or cause harm to Carr for any possible reason.

Some would have a reason to do something like that, as they would wish to silence anyone involved so that they could eliminate any possible witnesses.

Others would be more impulsive to the point that they would use threats or violence to respond to different situations or to try to maintain control.

If those people did not follow the rules, then it was possible that they could put the life of not just Carr in danger, but themselves, as that type of thing happening could result in a crash if Carr was distracted, hurt or worse.

Tiffany secured her seatbelt as she sat in the back of the car, but her eyes looked around at the inside of the car.

The seats were quite comfortable as they were fitted with good materials, and other places seemed to have undergone some improvements and modifications.

There was a partition between the front and back of the car, while there seemed to be a small ventilation installation above.

It looked like it was just the air conditioning system, but Tiffany knew better than to judge things by how they appeared.

It did work like one, but it had a built-in feature that she knew about.

The partition between the front and the back had a hatch that could be opened and closed to make it easier to talk and exchange things, but it could be sealed if required.

That would mean that if Carr wanted to, he could close it and ignore the passenger in the back, as it would block out the sound.

Not only did he have modifications in place to protect him from any violent acts, but even the partition was solid enough to withstand heavy impacts, which would include a small number of close-range gunshots.

The partition had another feature involved, and that was the complete separation of the front and back of the car, which included creating a separate and sealed space in the back once the hatch was sealed.

If there happened to be a problem occurring in the back of the car, then that was when the ventilation system would come into play.

The ventilation system had been modified to not only provide hot or cold air to be blown inside the back of the car, but there existed another setting.

That setting was especially helpful in a sealed-off space once the hatch was sealed, as the gas being sent inside would begin to take effect on a lot of people if there was a need to release it.

Unless someone had a physique or Quirk that was resistant or immune to the effects of various drugs and other things, it would be quite difficult to stay awake once the sleeping gas was released.

That kind of modification showed how thorough and serious Carr was when it came to his safety and his current job.

He prepared for a lot of things that could go wrong, so it made him seem even more reliable.

He did have those types of things ready to use, but he would not use them without having a valid reason for doing so.
