Chapter 306 - Each in Battle

As the monster turned and charged at Li Yue again, his teammates finally arrived at the scene. Despite their intense curiosity about how Li Yue had made such a massive creature disappear so suddenly, they knew this wasn't the time for questions.

The remaining four monsters were still charging aggressively in front of them. They rushed past Li Yue towards the oncoming monsters without stopping their movements. Unlike Li Yue, who had nearly perfect timing, they revealed their cold weapons even before reaching the monsters.

The Jaeger "Gipsy Danger" quickly brandished its chain sword. The initially soft and flexible sword transformed into a rigid giant, glowing silver, ready for battle. The Jaegers finally collided with the monsters, leading to fierce combat.

The massive Jaegers swung their enormous fists or glowing swords at the monsters while they bared their fangs and claws, showing no fear as they counterattacked. The clash of these giant entities stirred the deep sea, causing turbulence as if a sea dragon were swimming.

Fortunately, being over a thousand meters deep, their battle affected only a tiny area without causing widespread disruption.

...

However, their progress wasn't as remarkable compared to Li Yue's impressive feat of making a monster disappear instantly and severely injuring another with a single strike. The Jaeger "Gipsy Danger" was making headway against the most minor, weakest monster, a Category II Kaiju, dominating it in size and strength.

The other Jaegers, however, faced more demanding challenges. Their power levels were nearly equal to those of the monsters. On land, they might have had a slight advantage, but underwater, the water's resistance hindered their large frames. This slowed their movements and reduced their adequate strength.

In contrast, the monsters moved swiftly and nimbly, barely hindered by the water. Thus, the Jaegers found themselves at a disadvantage.

The Jaeger pilots had anticipated this and planned to refrain from exerting their full strength. Instead, they focused on evading the monsters' attacks, only engaging directly when necessary. Their goal was to delay and tire out the monsters, waiting for "Gipsy Danger" to finish its fight and come to assist.

...

On the other hand, Li Yue wasn't in a rush to kill the powerful Category V monster. Despite being repeatedly outpaced by the beast, he dodged its attacks perfectly, using his weapon to inflict several severe wounds.

After numerous charges, the monster was bleeding profusely, its blue blood staining the surrounding waters. Yet, it wasn't significantly weakened, still moving rapidly and flexibly.

Eventually, it seemed to learn from its mistakes and stopped charging unthinkingly. Instead, it circled Li Yue at high speed, waiting for an opportunity. Li Yue, unable to keep up with the monster's speed, eventually had to wait for it to make the next move.

As Li Yue expected, the monster stopped and faced him after a few minutes of circling. Its body began to glow blue, indicating an imminent powerful attack. Blue energy, crackling like lightning, flowed towards its open mouth, concentrating into a massive blast.

Li Yue knew he couldn't let the monster complete its attack. Who knew how powerful the blast would be and whether his Jaeger could withstand it? Reacting instantly, he dashed towards the beast, thrusting his three-pointed, double-edged sword towards the glowing energy in its mouth.

...

The monster howled in pain as Li Yue's blade pierced its throat, interrupting its energy buildup. But the accumulated energy in its mouth exploded violently, sending Li Yue's Jaeger flying backwards at tremendous speed.

The blast was mighty, creating a void in the water at the explosion's centre.
